[That had been a rather tense moment--a trace of gravel clattered off her shoulder armor and would have made her jump a few years ago. A larger piece of rock fell nearby shortly afterwards, a little more alarming. But Miriam held her nerve--and the rock, though she still had her attention split in two directions.

When the other Paladin gestured for her to set the rubble aside she did so, trusting his judgment. No further rocks fell, and there was no need to try and use Craftwork as a rubble umbrella. The Shardbinder released the tensed breath she was holding, and the glass hand disappeared again.

[Perhaps thanks to the blocked entryway, this room hadn't been much picked over. There were still books on its shelves, though picking out the mold-spoilt ones from the usable would take some time. What seemed to be a broken shield lay on a desk, surrounded by dusty tools, a scattering of spent bullets, and the yellowing, crumbling pages of someone's research littering the floor around the desk. A weapon stand stood against one of the walls nearby, still carrying a blunderbuss and musket, though both had seen better, less rusty days.

Miriam cautiously touched one of the round bullets on the research table, giving it an experimental heft--and almost needed to snatch it out of the air, with how high it rose from that light toss.
