"Yes," Daqiang agreed, satisfied that the small hiccup in their communication was easily resolved. Even without the confirmation that the stone-demon was battle-hardened, it had been obvious in how he carried himself and looked to others to lead - to point him at the enemy and let him run wild. He also seemed very well suited to such tasks.
"This venerable one has not met a creature such as yourself before," he said about twenty minutes later as got deep enough into the lava field for the fire sprites to start sensing Daqiang's presence. A statement which was probably a case of stating the obvious, but considering the number of worlds the riftfarers came from, some of which had multiple people hailing from them, it was one Daqiang felt should be stated clearly. "Will you tell this venerable one about your race?"
As they're walking, Garus will definitely be able to notice that despite the extreme heat and literal lava flows they're walking near to, Daqiang is neither sweating or looking at all overheated in any way. He actually looks much more put together than most ambassadors that could be found wandering on the Presidium. And considering he was dressed neck to toe in dark robes long enough to trail after him in a short train, if he were human (or fully human, anyway) he definitely should have been feeling something. And speaking of robes, they're silk and somewhat thin looking and not a single thread was lighting on fire from trailing across the super-heated ground.
