[As brief as the kiss turns out being Alhaitham can't say that he minds it at all. Even as momentary as the act itself had been the feelings and sensation that it gives lingers on for far longer, and every second of it just as wonderful as the kiss itself is. Alhaitham can't help but let out a soft sigh when Kaveh pulls away, watching his senior with half-lidded, tired eyes as he shifts back in right after pulling back, burrowing warmly into his side and letting their limbs tangle together.
He waits until Kaveh has settled, then moves to shift himself to accommodate the both of them better, hand coming to rest on Kaveh's head as he sleepily runs his fingers through those smooth, golden hairs, shimmering between his fingers like spun gold. He feels the way Kaveh's breathing slowly but surely deepens, evening out as exhaustion takes a hold of his senior and eventually pulls him down to sleep.
...it still feels sacred, the way he gets to be the one to hold Kaveh like this, to be the one who can feel Kaveh relax and fall asleep in his arms, to let go of all those masks that he likes to wear and let himself finally be at ease. It's a privilege Alhaitham never thought he'd be able to have, and the fact that the circumstances of their current situation is what allowed them to have this has not escaped him. There are many things about this world that still remain uncertain and serve to be a source of worry—but this, at the very least, is not one of them.
There are other things to consider still, but with Kaveh sound asleep in his arms its hard to resist the way his own exhaustion pulls at him. Alhaitham looks down to the top of his senior's head, thinking again of this warmth that he feels and the softness of the kiss they'd just shared—then leans down to bury his nose into Kaveh's hair, taking in that warm, comforting scent.]
Good night, Kaveh. [He murmurs, lips brushing right over his senior's forehead as he speaks.] Sweet dreams.
[And he holds Kaveh just like this, continuing to breathe him in, letting both his scent and his warmth wash over Alhaitham until he, too, eventually drifts off to sleep.
When morning comes and Kaveh wakes up first, as he usually does, he will do so and discover that Alhaitham will have continued to hold him throughout the entire night.]
they'll know... soon... eventually...
