Who: Turo & You!
Status: Open
Where: Snaxburg Island
What: Snaxburg Secrets MANTA Quest, exploring the town-sized island and taking everything in. Building up what is essentially a Snaxdex. Other shenanigans likely to ensue.(Prose or brackets, I'll match you)
Warnings: Will but any up as needed.
Exploration π
A
[Really, this was just the thing to get into after properly resting after an incident last month -and fortunate he did rest, given the mess of things elsewhere- was to head to a newly discovered island. Even if on the smaller side, the rumored life there sounded absolutely fascinating, and reason there were several notebooks stashed away in his leather bag along with a few other items more meant for anyone else exploring he might stumble across as well.
Even the moment he started in, the darting sweetie flies of various kinds were eye catching, and carefully he was able to coax a glittering one that looked like rock candy on a stick to land on his hand.]
Well, you are magnificent little one.
B
[Turo had stopped to take pictures of a few Bugsnax that were marching along, a section which had fallen behind racing to catch up, when a rather glittering, brightly colored bugsnack practically leapt into view to strike a pose the moment the sound of the shellphone's camera had gone off. Rather excitedly as well.]
Oh. You... like attention?
[INSTA!] Ah, I see.
[This one would likely stay still enough for him to sketch out- even if it wasn't necessary, but easier to share like the pictures would be...]
Take It All In π
[It hadn't really been too long into Turo's adventure before a couple of Bungers had taken to following after him. Bouncing along with every step, even rushing along as if to ensure a few more aggressive of their kind kept a distance.
More so when Turo had found a good place to sit that had so many varieties of them milling about so he could pull out one of the notebooks and start sketching a few groups amongst the pages that carried a few more individual pieces that had notes with them.
Even with a few of the somewhat larger Bugsnax flying around, almost at ease with his presence.
Even with things like Loaded Spuddies and a few Flapjackarak meandering around. Watching how they seemed to 'hunt' around here.]
Are you two not hungry?
[Bunger Bunger Bungerβ]
Hm. If you are sure.
Wildcard! π

Which was simply fascinating. Why did they look like food? Candies and even foods made of various ingredients, but seemed to be a solid creature. All of this required some deeper research, which likely meant that Turo was going to be spending quite a bit of time on this island.
For a moment Turo set the pen down within his notebook, resting that hand on one of Dojima's shoulders with a gentle squeeze.
"Do you need a break?"
no subject
Face in his hand, this is how Dojima finally broke. This world was breaking him--
"I feel like I have to toss out everything I knew was real..."
no subject
That hand on Dojima's shoulder slid around along his back to then rest on the opposite one, Turo leaning in closer and just giving the man support. He supposed he was personally a bit more prepared for creatures like this, in a way, so that their existence had far more 'padding' in simply... accepting?
"Ryotaro, take a slow and deep breath."
no subject
Well, the warm touch, this close, out in the open, and the use of his given name caught Dojima off guard enough to actually-- get him to take that breath he apparently needed.
This was embarrassing--
"---Right, sorry, uh... 'Tino."
Murmured a bit bashfully, rubbing his the lower half of his face, pressing fingers absent the skin in some way to ground himself.
... watching those ant-like things made of cupcakes and macarons wander by. And covering his eyes again. Breath.
no subject
Soon enough Turo was slowly rubbing a hand along Dojima's back in a way to help him time those slow and deep breaths; easy for him to catch onto, and keep up with. There was no judgement, just a soft warmth there to his voice.
"I can understand why this is a bit much for you, on top of other things in this world." From everything that Dojima had talked about from his own world, much of this would be more along the lines of a childish imagination/video game/cartoon.
"It is okay."
no subject
Yeah, with Turo from a world where animals could control water, fire, electricity, the ground-- like some sort of anime or video game-- of course an island full of food-bugs wouldn't be as absurd to him.
A moment of silence as a thought struck Dojima. And he finally glanced up at Turo--
"...Someone is going to try to eat one of these things. You know that, right?"
Oh, the look of chagrin on his face for having to state that out loud...
no subject
Though, the longer he thought about it, well.
"... Someone is going to try, and likely succeed, in eating one of them. Or more."
If they tasted like anything they resembled at the very least. Turo could imagine that t wasn't as far-fetched a thought after the initial reaction, really.
"Which brings up the question if it is safe to consume them."
no subject
Said with a tone as dry as the Sahara Desert. He knew Turo wouldn't, but he would study the effects if someone did.
"I just get a bad feeling about trying to eat them. Not only would it just be... weird with them being so clearly alive, but the fact they look like food a human would love..."
He gestured out at the 'Bungers', exploring around--
"--Feels like some kind of trap to me."
It was too perfect, like that parasite that would make rats lose their fear of cats, so the cats would eat the small mammals and help lead to the next stage in the parasite's life cycle.
no subject
... Not really worth it. "I cannot imagine they are made of from what they appear to be, after all. The food would eventually rot, and they seem to be in perfect condition despite very much looking to be insects made of various foods."
Behaviors and all.
Turo still was leaning somewhat against Dojima, an arm rested around him near his lower back.
"Reason you will not be eating one either, I would rather not take that sort of risk. There should be other ways of discovering such things."
no subject
What was with scientists?
But Dojima listened all the same, letting a hand back to press into Turo's. Just to maintain that touch.
"You couldn't pay me to try one." Said so dryly, "Not unless someone was held hostage and the only way to save them was to eat one, anyway." Always exceptions to the rules.
Dojima hadn't noticed the little strawberry... thing... moving towards his other hand on the rock.
"--Who do you think will eat one first?"
no subject
He did glance down towards the Bunger that had the white and red checker pattern on it's 'wrapping paper' and seemed to be of different ingredients; this one had followed him from the bit of desert he had passed by. Simply 'bouncing' in place on those curly fry legs.
"I do not know, honestly. Perhaps any of the youngest amongst either group that is curious enough to come here? Despite being alive some may miss familiar foods from home enough to, well..." Take the chance that it may taste how it looks.

Just because he was in a robot body didn't mean this shit couldn't affect him somehow. Even if he didn't 'digest' like humans did, this could be magic for all they knew, and magic did seem to work on him and in him.
"--I'm betting it's one of those newer kids. Denji or something?" The one who'd been causing mischief and asking about reviving people who've died. Something about him just struck Dojima as the type to not be able to resist a decent looking burger.
no subject
"I did, yes." Even if it was strange the more he thought about it, but perhaps he could admit in some instances his first instinct was... very much in the line of his creator's own thinking, as it was meant to be.
His head tipped a little, still leaning shoulder to shoulder with Dojima and that arm rested against his back. Enjoying the bit of thought returned. Quiet and welcomed in it.
"Ah, I remember seeing that boy on the network. Perhaps you are correct."
