[Don't worry, this won't turn into a full ordeal, he promises! No rooftops, only courtyards and the ground. Mostly the ground. 99% the ground.
Xenk won't lose him at all, not just because Jarlaxle isn't trying that hard to stay away; it's probably next to impossible not to hear how loudly the drow is fucking laughing at him.]
Did you really knock on the-
[Oh shit he's here, and right before Jarlaxle managed to finish whatever teasing he was getting ready to toss out. He might have reconsidered whatever he was about to say, but the laughter is a little harder to stop as he hops back towards the wall again.
But oh no, what's this? While it was easy for him to scale the other side, the make of the eaves upon the wall ensured that this was a one-way trick only. He'd apparently only just realized that as he backed away and looked up, having been too caught up with whatever he'd been about to say to have properly looked around. Oh, back to a corner now, oh dear.]
Well then, it seems I underestimated just how quickly you'd get up the stairs.
[That one's on him. But he's not entirely out of tricks. The moment Xenk gets close enough the drow breaks out a Hail Mary, sharply turning to suddenly ricochet off the corner he'd backed himself into. Bounding off of one corner and then again off the other, he'd make a wild attempt to simply jump over Xenk. It's okay, he'll parkour enough for the both of them.]
