"Sa-lmon." Toge answers, a little hitch mid-word to clear his throat. His voice is a little hoarse but he offers a thumbs up in Bakugo's direction.

He's fine. He's mostly fine except for the slime.

Toge lifts his shoe to look at his leg and scrunches his nose a little bit. Gross.

Press x to doubt.

But if Toge says he's okay, Katsuki won't push it. He does however snort at that expression.

"Well what did you think would happen when you blew 'em all up? Slime's gotta go somewhere."

~~Toge, how would your boyfriend feel about you slime blasting other men?~~

"Betting it won't be the last time though. We still have to find the big guy."

"Sujiko." Toge complains. He doesn't have to like being slimed but it's not like he hasn't had worse. Curses are rather gruesome sometimes.

Bakugo is right though, they need to keep moving. Toge nods and starts walking through more of the slimy goop towards where they'd been heading. His voice is a little hoarse, but the coughing has stopped.

The tone indicates it's some kind of displeasure being expressed. Even if he can't work out the full context of it, he has that much.

"At least it counts to turn in a bucket of slime. Figured that out with the jellyfish."

Surprisingly... Katsuki was not the one to reduce them to jelly. But they were reduced to jelly even so.

“Fish flakes.” Toge protests a little bit. Sure, it counts to turn in a bucket of slime, but that doesn’t actually solve the problem. He’s not a hero like they are, but he signed up to kill that thing.

He is going to kill it.

Bakugo’s instincts are definitely correct, when the goo starts becoming far more of the cute little slimes, sure enough the big slime creature is sitting in the middle of it. Toge doesn’t think it looks particularly scary, and possibly, it might even be slow moving.

"That's a 'no', right? My quirk blows shit up and you blow shit up. How do you think we're beating it without it being a puddle of jelly?"

Oh no. Katsuki also plans to kill it. He just knows what they'll be left with.

Ah, Toge misunderstood him, but that was alright. He nodded his agreement. That was definitely what they were going to end up with, a big pile of jelly.

He’s quick to ensure his collar is out of the way again so they can get on with it. It didn’t look like it was particularly fast moving though, was it? He made a gesture towards the creature. Whenever Bakugo is ready, he is.

Katsuki sizes it up and when Toge gestures, he nods. He's ready. And with that he's skyward with his quirk, launching himself upwards so he can swing himself around and start with a blast at it's back. Time to start looking for weak points. It may be complicated with a slimy body but they have the upper hand in speed so he feels sure they can figure it out before it becomes a problem.

Explosions to a creature that size might be a problem, Toge thinks. He can probably manage an explosion that size, but there must be a trick.

He takes a breath and shouts. "Twist!" One of the hulking jelly limbs twists right off which would be gruesome if it was just an ordinary creature.

The ooze of the arm splashes down on the ground, but some of the smaller blobs that made up the creature survive and start melding into it again. Maybe an explosion would be a better tactic.

Katsuki finds he isn't doing much of anything with his explosions against the main body. It's too much mass. They just make it wobble and jiggle.

But as the arm plummets and splits apart and promptly starts to reform he gets an idea. He aims for those instead and... yeah! He can blast those apart no problem!

"Oy! Do that again!"

He nods to acknowledge Bakugo, but doesn't speak riceball ingredients to him this time, he just focuses on the task at hand.

"Twist." He repeats, lobbing off another limb of slime. This is incredibly messy work really, but slowly but surely, they're going to get this thing down to a manageable size.

Katsuki focuses his attacks on the chunks being taken off. The smaller slimes that they become that he can actually blow up. And it seems to be working this way.

"Keep it up! We're whittling him down!"

Keep it up, that's the best strategy certainly. Toge shouts command after command, whittling the thing down. They're making headway and finally, he exposes whatever the core is.

One more, slow this thing down so Bakugo can destroy it. "Twist!" The command is sharp, but this time there's a bit of wetness in his voice. The core is exposed, Bakugo better focus on that. Toge is leaning forward, blood pouring from his mouth and taking in deep, wet breaths. He's got one or two commands left in him before his vocal chords snap altogether. They have to make it count.

Katsuki so focused on the battle, looking for the opening that Toge soon exposes, that he doesn't realize what's happening with his teammate at first. He's too busy gearing himself up for his big attack. A wild spin through the air as he fires explosions off around his spinning form.

"Howitzer impact!!" Slamming himself right into the core of the beast with a massive explosion that bursts it from the inside out.

Slime rains everywhere.

And Katsuki lands and turns to grin at Toge. Something that quickly fades when he sees all that blood. It puts him in mind of All Might when he overdoes it and he comes rushing over to check on Toge.

"Shit! What happned??"

Toge's not worried about the fact that Bakugo is busy fighting the creature. The opening is what they need. He's doubled over, keeping his body angled to try and expel as much blood as possible.

His response to Bakugo rushing over is to raise his head and grins, flashing him a thumbs up. "Takana." He's fine. His voice is very there, incredibly hoarse like he's got laryngitis or something like that, but he's quick to double over again, retching a bit.

Ugh, the downside to his technique is pretty harsh, but he's fine.

"I dunno what the hell 'Takana' is, but that thumbs up? Don't you fucking lie to me. You're spewing blood."

He glances at the puddle of slime left behind by the giant slime and grimaces. I mean... they killed it? He moves to support Toge.

"Come on. We're getting you back to rest."

They did kill it, but aside from trying to get the blood out of him because it's worse if he just swallows it all, once he's done and taking heaving breaths, he drags his sleeve across his mouth. Good thing he has a dark jacket on. Perfect for hiding blood.

Toge pulls out his shellphone.

Don't worry, this is totally normal. My technique has a huge backlash to it, so the more I work it the more I damage my throat, but I can still make sound so I haven't snapped my vocal cords this time. I'm only a little lightheaded.

"Don't you 'it's totally normal' me. Nothing is normal about destroying your damn body just to use your power. That's fucking insane."

He's reminded of Izuku fucking up his arms all the time when they first got into UA. Izuku was also pretty nonchalant about fucking up his body to fight. It's always the quiet ones who were secretly insane.

...Fuck.

He and Shoto have the same taste in men.

"Just lean on me. We're getting you home."

He coughs a few times, waiting for a moment to make sure he's good to get moving and he nods a little bit. It would be good to hold onto Bakugo so that he didn't get too dizzy. Something about losing blood having that effect.

The real secret is that all jujutsu sorcerers are completely insane. They have to be to do the job, after all.

"Takana." He repeats. He's okay, but he'll give Bakugo his arm if he wants it, leaning against him. Toge does this all the time.

Katsuki does his best to support Toge all the way back to the house. He's starting to see why Todoroki is training his healing powers so much...

"Guys like you really piss me off, y'know."

He's been quiet, mostly out of necessity and he tilts his head, brow furrowed, silently asking the question as to why.

Toge doesn't think he's done anything to piss Bakugo off, just about ever, actually. Unless the other man is holding it in, which doesn't seem like his style.

This, today, is the thing that pissed him off. Up until now... mild annoyances, sure? But everyone mildly annoys him to some degree.

"Not giving a shit if you destroy your body like this. It pisses me off." He clarifies. "There's a difference between knowing the risks and being prepared and acting like those risks are nothing."

Toge lets out a little sigh. "Fish flakes." He acted within the necessary risks, he didn't go beyond his limits, but he did hit them.

There's realistically no way to avoid destroying his throat. He consumes tea by the gallon because it always hurts. Even his safe words aren't entirely safe, and curse free. They hurt him. He's never explained that to anyone. It's a successful mission, and isn't that what matters in the end?
