She hates to let her thoughts linger on it too long; that wound, the regret and guilt Zelda has carried for a century now, is a very fresh scar, one that still hurts should she press on it.
Again, Zelda is slow to respond, thinking over everything Darin said. To her, the courtesy she gave him in respecting his privacy is an easy thing, one that required little thought for her to extend.
