But that won't be the last time she ends up with those thoughts, or any. Every time she has a moment, she finds her hand going up to the earring to graze it with her fingertips, over the edges and the little gemstone inside. When in front of a mirror, she also finds herself staring at it for just a moment too long, admiring how the colours look against her dark hair and fair skin.
And every time that she does, she feels her heart race a little faster, her cheeks grow a little warmer, and her heart feel a little lighter.
Today was... interesting. Heck, the last two days have been. She is still reeling from the fact that he had been the one to kidnap her, and then they were able to reconcile. Not that they had much to do so for, but it did feel pretty good for things to go right back to the way they were.
