To my understanding, mortals generally share what knowledge they have of the more well known gods as part of their education. The more obscure ones are taught about at their shrines. And any mortal that manages to ascend is often elevated beyond their station in the eyes of mortals, if there are any witnesses to the ascension. Such mortals must still earn their place among those considered immortal.

As for those who are considered immortals... most of those in Shuiyuntian and the Cangyan Sea do not worship their fellow beings. But gossip about their preferences is just as prevalent. Sometimes it is useful knowledge to have.
