“It’s okay to do that. I don’t think pursuing friendships hurts anyone else, so why not. It’s the kind of selfishness that only makes things worthwhile for you.”

It’s all just something she told herself at some point, various times, one way or another. Daria definitely has had moments of childish selfishness due to inexperience with things, including her own emotions. But she hoped those experiences only helped her grow up a bit. So…hearing someone remark such about her felt nice?

Still, she didn’t have anybody here, and that made her pause. Sure some passing acquaintances and those she regarded as maybe “friends” if just for social niceties, like she was really truly good at any of that even still. But someone she’d fight for in her heart of hearts to stay even a little longer, she didn’t have that here.

That made her feel a tinge lonely. Her truest connections, as of now, weren’t here. Yet. Maybe soon Daria and Fenris would be right evenly on that line. But they had personality and feelings going for them.

Daria turned a shade of pink. “I’m just being honest. It’s nothing.”
