He has seen friendship and love enable a man who started a war, who blew up a building and killed so many innocent people. So no, he does not agree with that sentiment. Friendship hurt when it when it was over, when one gets left behind. But he's learning that friendship can be worthwhile in the interim, like it is now. Like his friendship with Xenk and Astarion is.
