[ Power was a funny thing. On the one hand, it was undeniably interesting. Interesting because of course he wants power for himself, and thus it has its own attraction.

But on the other hand there was that whole...power corrupts business. And sure he'd flippantly say he'd be down for a little corruption, but he's also seen what truly power and truly evil creatures are capable of.

He's a bit of a hypocrite when it comes down to it. He wants power for himself, even if he doesn't trust others with it. ]


Baldur's Gate is a funny place. Its laws are nonsensical, and navigating them requires a truly fine--or truly corrupt--touch. It certainly gives me license to mingle with the elite. But that isn't quite the same kind of power you're talking about.

[ nobles and their squabbles...it's really not the same as a contest of magic or might ]

I find yours far more interesting.
