[ Now that he's hearing it, Xenk's admission of his shortcomings sounding just the same as his boasts makes sense. Is it truly possible for a man to be so divorced from his sense of pride? It's hard for someone like Alucard to truly imagine.
He wishes he had some way of disappearing a good portion of his bowl right now, maybe even dumping it somehow into another contestant's bowl. But there are eyes on him, waiting to see if and when he'll break. Even if he could think up a way to cheat, Alucard couldn't with his current skill set. So he just has to wait until Xenk returns.
He accepts the glass, the chilled feeling between his heated palms like a balm. Alucard gives a sigh. ]

But then he grimaces a bit as the heat threatens to return in first. Yep, just like he'd thought, it's kind of made it worse when he's not actively drinking. Alucard can't fall into the pitfall of guzzling, though, or he's never going to have enough room for all of this food. So reluctantly, he sets the glass down again, absently wiping his mouth with his fingers. ]
