Who: Kaveh and YOU
Status: Open
Where: Surasthana Cafe on Eltrut!
What: The grand opening of a book cafe.
Warnings: God I hope not.

[Kaveh hasn't talked much about what he's been working on for a few months now, because he wanted this moment to be a surprise (and because he didn't want to be scolded for overwork). It has finally paid off, now, with the grand opening of the Surasthana Cafe, just in time for the deep end of the fall season. The cafe is cozily furnished and warm, the smell of lovingly brewed coffee floats through the air, and soft music plays from Mehrak.

Kaveh isn't expecting a huge rush on any given day--this was done for his own sake more than anything, but now on weekday afternoons, the little book cafe can be found and people can stay a spell, enjoying expertly made coffee drinks and some light reading in a ridiculous plant paradise.

If you have any requests for new kinds of books, or wish to purchase various accessories, stop by the front counter! The owner is happy to accommodate you, after all.

ooc: you may also treat this post as a mingle and toplevel accordingly, just mark if you are doing so! Otherwise, Kaveh will be coming for you!]

Ugh, I know what you mean. It's such a shame, really; the blends here aren't bad, per se, but they certainly lack the flavours I've grown used to drinking. Really, the sailors should learn a thing or two about flavour!

[It's definitely different than what Lyney's used to; Fontainian roasts had a richer, velvety smoothness, with a roasted flavour with hints of both smoky and sweet notes. It also held a kind of bitterness that sat on the tongue and warmed the belly when drank, making it complex and comforting. The cardamom and cinnamon flavours of Sumeran coffee were much different from the roasted dark, bitter sweetness of Fontainian coffee, but it was unique and delicious in its own way. In fact, some blends even held hints of dark chocolate and cherries, playing off the combo of bitter and sweetness.]

Hmm, looking through the rifts for coffee blends..? You know, that could be a good idea. And offering a few off-world blends could be good for your business!
spectacleofphantasmagoria: (Won't you follow my lead?)

I like the way you think, my friend. After all, what's wrong with expecting the best in both what you drink and what you serve? Perhaps you'll inspire a movement here.

[Honestly, more people here need to be more discerning with their coffee! In any case, Lyney moves to pick one of the blends before him.]

But for today, I think I'll take a cup of this blend, please.
