It was desolate rocky shelf that was just barely big enough to be called an 'island' and sat just high enough in the water for most of it to remain dry even at high tide. It was far enough from where Elrut rested that a prolonged lightning trial would not be a danger to anyone unless they chose to take the time to investigate, but close enough that the 'fireworks' would likely be visible on the horizon.
Once there, he found a spot near the center of the island where the rock was mostly flat and scattered boulders and step-formations surrounded the space. He made himself comfortable - stretched his legs out, tucked his hands behind his head - and shut his eyes to await his sparring partner.
