[A light chuckle as he smiles into that kiss as he also shifts to be comfortable against her.]
Not without some trials, of course. After all, they need to learn of her origins and recruit others to their cause...
[And so he will continue the tale, one that is filled with common tropes, but it's a fun story all the same. Although there are elements that could match their own situation and past, he tries to make it different so it's not too similar...although it is a little fun to try and draw off people they knew, both in their world and this one. A lighthearted adventure of meeting new people, fighting foes, and of course the budding romance of this knight and maid.
He'll ask for her input often enough, but eventually he'll notice her starting to fall asleep, His voice will grow lower, quieter, and once Benedikta is asleep he'll gently brush her hair, watching her carefully before his eyes drift to her leg that had been injured.
It really had been harrowing, watching her fly off into the winds, almost swallowed by the sky. And then the hawk... If he had not learn how to levitate and fly, he would have needed to find someone else to fly after her or find somehow to get her down. But he had felt true panic, as if he might lose her again. And all because he didn't pay attention and was too complacent, thinking she would be safe within the lodge so he didn't hasten to retrieve as he should have...
This carelessness is something he would remember and hold onto fast, as it reflects possibilities even here. She could be safe in the Roost, in their home, but what if something happens and was not around, or something else? Worries he knows are bordering mania, but with how many times he's almost lost and has lost her, it's not so surprising that his thoughts momentarily drift to such extremes.
Lowering his lips to the top of her head and releasing a low sigh, he pushes those intrusive thoughts away. At least this time and all these other times he did save her. He can't always keep her safe, but he can at least be there to help her, rescue her. He needs to remember that.
So it will be a while before he'll be able to drift and doze off into a light sleep, quick to wake whenever she stirs. And as if nothing was amiss, he'll smile and prepare the dinner he had promised. At least by now those fears will have faded, and he will focus all his attention in making sure she is comfortable...
