Welcome to the Test Drive Meme for

escordvi! Anyone can participate in the test drive, regardless of invite eligibility. Just keep in mind that only those who have received invitations from the mods can actually reserve on December 25 and apply on January 1st. Our EMP/ATP can be found here.

For your toplevel, please include the following: Character Name | Canon | Armada Choice | TDM (IF TDMING). Current players can use the same header, just without the "TDM" label. We do require those who are TDMin'g to include the label so other players can distinguish between others.

For everyone's convenience, TDM threads can be carried over in game if you wish! If you are still unsure which armada to place your character, you can play it a bit loose and vague in the TDM and make retroactive changes if you carry over the threads. The log itself is set to cover starting from December 14 until the end of the month. Characters will appear at random intervals during this time rather than all at once, so players have some more flexibility on how much more adjusted they are for someone else.

TOPLEVEL DIRECTORY (Updated December 18)

GETTING STARTED

This section can be timed for any time after December 1st until the end of the month, which includes during the current event. These prompts are to benefit those TDMing, but this portion can be handwaved instead and serve as a reference for players to know what their character will have experienced and learned on arrival.

STARTER SHIPS

There are two ships that serve as starting ships for each armada: Stormbringer for the Corsairs, and Royal Fortune for the Paladins. There are various ways new arrivals—or riftfarers as they will be called, among other creative names—will appear on or by these ships. The crews for both ships will also seem a bit odd to some, as it is a mix of humans and various animal folk, non-humans that look more animal than human. Some just look like large versions of their smaller counterparts. From birds, to seals, to even bears, there is no shortage of interesting faces and people on these ships.

🚪 Random room. It could be empty, filled with crates or supplies; down in the hull where the livestock are kept; have the luck to awaken in a bed...or the misfortune of that bed already occupied; somewhere in the kitchens; in the bathroom—any room! Now let's hope the doors can open or someone may have to try and ask for help. Or jump through the porthole if there is one and it's above water.
⛵ On deck. If not in the ship itself, another possible spot to wake up to is somewhere on the maindeck. If they're lucky, they're on the deck itself. More unfortunate souls may find themselves caught in the sails or netting, the crow's nest, or on the top of the masts. Someone should be able to help, right? Or catch.
🌊 In the water. The most unlucky sods will find themselves appearing in mid-air just past the ship and plummeting straight into the water. Good news, there's always someone on the lookout for such a thing and calls for help to "throw a lifesaver, get the rowboat!" will be made. Are there sharks? Well... ...Are there?

However the new riftfarers arrive, they will be poorly clothed, practically rags or loose uniforms depending on the ship. Fortunately, veteran crewmates will guide them, escorting them to a room with a strange typewriter in it. After typing their name, the typewriter will magically continue and type by itself at a fast pace until it dings and rolls out the paper. This paper will have the following information:

• Name and Shellphone ID (journalname)
• Armada (Corsair or Paladin, will match the starter ship)
• Cabin Number for their personal cabin on the starter ship
• Apartment Address for their personal address at their base armada location
• A basic map of the starting locations in Eltrut, including written directions (continued in the Eltrut section)
• A basic map of where they can find a chest with their original clothes and belongings (this will be different for every person and will be anywhere either on the starter ship or on Eltrut—players can be creative here).

After that, the crewmate will do their best to explain the basics of how they got here, what's going on, and what they'll need to do to live in Escordvi while they are here, giving them a small leather pouch with money. They will be reaching Eltrut soon, so the crewmate will suggest they look around, meet the others who have arrived. Even from their distance, they will be able to see the giant sea turtle that serves as Eltrut's leviathan.

ON ELTRUT

Once in Eltrut, the new riftfarers will be greeted by several birdfolk who will be happy to give tours to those who may need them. Otherwise, anyone is free to roam as they please and will have a map for the following main places they should visit.

🐚 Microshell. The first stop that is encouraged will be Microshell, the main store to acquire their own personal Shellphone. The paper they received on their starter ship will have their ID and the staff at the store will set them up, explaining how the device and the network works.
✒️ Inkwave, Tattoo Parlor. The next stop is Inkwave, a tattoo parlor run by a very burly but friendly octopus, Knistej. Here everyone receives their own unique magic tattoo, allowing anyone to cast specific single element spells and other magic. Note: tattoos are required before anyone will be able to use their original magical abilities.
📜 MANTA office. The final stop is the MANTA office, where all the request, mission, and task notices are posted. Each armada has their own branch office for armada specific notices as well. A great place to find jobs to earn some cash so they don't stay a hobo forever.

FESTIVAL

To celebrate Winterstide, the leviathans have all moved towards a northern point where snow will fall regularly all over. A huge feast has been put together for all to come and enjoy. From fully roasted pigs and turkeys with all the fixings to fruit cheesecake, mince pies, savoury meat pies, coffee cake, peach rum bars, shortbread cookies, freshly baked bread, scalloped potatoes and more. Participants are also encouraged to bring a dish to add to the massive feast to show off their culinary mastery or their own creative creations. Including someone who’s brought a horrible gelatinous jello that’s stuffed with ham, peas and … sweet berries.

Let's not forget the plethora of drinks available to anyone of age. From spiked eggnog, to crab apple cider, spiced beers, frothy grog and frosty ice wines, everything is on the table. Similar to the food dishes, there are some contests for people to try and mix their best "Winterstide" drink, and both non-alcoholic and alcoholic variations are allowed. There's even a special drink called the Winter Snowzie that's made of shaved ice and flavored syrup. Drinking one of these will make one feel warm for a little while before they get hit by a blast of cold at the end.

A special meal for Eltrut is also underway, with giant hotpot cauldrons scattered around the main port for everyone to throw in ingredients. Because the poor turtle doesn't like the cold, only super hot and warm ingredients that would suit a giant turtle's belly should be used. These giant cauldrons will be periodically offered for the leviathan, and really Eltrut can stomach a lot of things, even the spiciest pepper! If Eltrut eats something warm enough, his body may even become warm enough to raise the temperatures around for a little while.

There are many different activities and traditions to do this Winterstide, and it's lasting until the end of the month. Plenty of time to get any last minute gifts and exchange with friends and loved ones.

💝 Decorating. All the leviathans have moved to a chilly spot for Winterstide. Because they are all close together this year, the locals thought it might be a nice touch to decorate the leviathans with some festive Winterstide adornments. Use giant ribbons, long strips of garland and tinsel and other large winter-y decorations and spruce up each leviathan. Nogard might look adorable with a massive bow on its bony dragon head, and Elah might enjoy having a necklace of sparkling green, red and gold ribbon.

👑 Holly crowns. To get in the festive cheer, fancy crowns made out of holly leaves, pine twigs, berries, mistletoe and pine cones can be made. Use ribbons and string to tie them together carefully and make crowns that can be worn or gifted. Very pretty!

🐔 Chicken toss. It’s the festive season and that means Eltrut wants to celebrate too. He’s worked up a big appetite, so make sure our giant turtle gets a piece of the feast. On several large ships, huge honey roasted rotisserie chickens the size of small houses have been prepared for him to eat. The only way to get them to Eltrut is to use special magitech catapults built to accommodate their size and launch them in. It does take a bit of aiming and a boost of magic to make sure they get all the way up into Eltrut's mouth!

🦇 Mistlebats. While there may be some sprigs of holly hanging around doorways, there is a special species of bats with wings of mistletoe leaves and cute little red heads. They will fly around and bite people, making the bitten want to either kiss or fight others. How severe the effect is up to the player. Some might want to "kiss" to the cheek (either by mouth or fist) or some might want a full "passionate" session.

🐸 Mistletoads. A new edition to this year's mischievous little creatures running about are the little festive frogs that are making everyone’s lives very interesting. These frogs (that are wearing little red ribbons and hats) will do their best to kiss you and change you into a ribbiting, hoppy-go-lucky frog. And the only way to turn back is to go get a kiss from another person willing to kiss a frog right on the lips.

🔥 Burning logs. Some say that taking a decorated log of wood, sharing stories with someone about your past, and then setting the log on fire during Winterstide will chase away any negative vibes for the new year. Take a log and pretty it up to your heart's desire with ribbons and tinsel before setting it on fire to symbolically burn away any dark thoughts and nasty spirits. And share a story with a new friend while you’re at it. Just be careful not to set anything else on fire.

🎁 Regifting. Once again, the Corsairs are on a mission to "regift" items, targeting the wealthy and distributing to those more in need. Of course, not everyone has such "charitable" intentions, preferring to line their own pockets or working for another. In response the Paladins are upping security while working on their own endeavors to wrap and deliver goods.

🍭 Candycane dare. A special challenge targeted towards couples, but can be played by anyone. Each person takes one side of the candy cane and starts biting off a piece each turn. Will they meet in the middle? Or will someone break away before?

🎀 Ribbon dance. Little birds will randomly attach a colored ribbon to an individual and should they decide to participate, they must find a partner with the same colored ribbon. Multiple individuals will be in a color "group" so there will be more than one option. Once partnered off, they must bind their wrists with the matching colored ribbon and dance together until the ribbon falls off. For those who may be shy, the magic ribbon may just choose the partners for them.

🐇 Jackalopes. The Frostsinger’s helpers are fluffy, horned rabbits called Jackalopes that run about the festival making festive cheer. This year, they’ve made it a game for everyone to try and catch these feisty and fast little creatures and return them to a giant wicker basket in the centre of Eltrut’s main square. Be careful, they are swift and agile things and will do anything to stay out of anyone’s hands for long. But a good pirate doesn’t back down from a good challenge.

❄️ Snowball war. Where there is new snow, there are snowball fights. Roll up as many snowballs as possible and take down anyone from the opposite armada. A full-blown competition has broken out, pitting corsairs against paladins to see how many points the other armada can score with each snowball hit! Everywhere is a battlefield! No mercy!

☃️ Snow pirates. Everyone is encouraged to build snowpirates! Using the freshly fallen snow, roll up and create the best rendition of the corsairs and paladins (or other people) you know in your life. Dress them up in stolen clothing and hats, give them carrot stick noses and watch them come to life and dance.

There are some other activities that are happening all over. The Frostsinger has created giant snowflakes that anyone can either hop around like a jumping puzzle, or take one for a ride if one can stand the cold. Special small boats can be found around the piers armed with hand snow cannons. Riders can either work as pairs or go solo to try and blast their opponents with snowballs. With all the snow covering the leviathans, they all have special slopes formed from their fins, spines, and shell that are perfect for any winter sports such as skiing, snowboarding, and sledding. Finally, some may receive a special guest from an entity called Mari Lwyd. Despite her appearance, she is a friendly spirit and just wishes to indulge in alcohol. She'll challenge anyone to a drinking contest and will give good tidings and blessings to those who can beat her!

Special markets, performances in the plazas, parades—there is a lot to do as everyday is a celebration.

TOY CHAOS

Threads in this section are worth 4pts.

While everyone is enjoying the Winterstide festivities, an evil is lurking, ready to strike and try to ruin it all. In seeking vengeance for his thwarted plans to take over Yostelsia last year, towards the last week of the month the Pirat King will cast a spell on the toys that are sent out as gifts. At a random time, the toy will come to life and start behaving strangely and move on their own. Fortunately, due to their small size and materials, they aren't too threatening…however, there is more to these cursed toys than meets the eye.

Especially when that "toy curse" spreads to other toys. The original cursed toys will affect other toys that were originally safe, increasing their numbers and making it more difficult to attack as children start to cry about losing their favorite toy. Uh oh. Is Winterstide ruined!?

(The following prompts can be set anywhere.)

🎁 Boxed up. Whether it's after opening a gift or around a toy that popped out of one, beware! Even the boxes have been cursed to enlarge before ribbons fly out to try and tie up people to shove them inside. Although those trapped can move around and try to escape, making the bounce box around, unless they have something sharp with them they'll need help from someone on the outside.

🔫 Toy soldier shootout. Some are small while others are giant nutcrackers that are about knee high. Although only armed with plastic cork guns and rubber swords, at some point the toys will load their weapons with rocks and hard candy which will hurt. Defeat the troops before it's true toy anarchy!

🪄 Counter spells. While there is no spell that can completely lift the curse from the Pirat King, spells and enchantments that can temporarily stop a toy's movements will be effective in capturing them and locking them in a box. However, care must be taken that the toy is not damaged when doing so.

🔧 Build a resistance! As terrifying as toys attacking can be, it can be doubly traumatizing if a child's precious toy that was victim to the curse is destroyed. Anyone who can build or do crafts will be of great help to build toys that can be used to fight back against the toys, either by their design or through special spells and enchantments.

Any toys that are damaged will be collected to hopefully be repaired, with priority on toys that were already in possession of a child or considered a treasured item.

But it's not just toys that are being cursed. Toys will curse people and transform them into toys. The victim will transform into some toy form and will need to be saved from their new plight. Fortunately, such curses are not new, so there is a remedy available: magic gumdrops. The problem is while there is supply, there will not be enough as more people are affected until the Pirat King is defeated, so the herbalists and candy makers will need help to create them. Volunteers will be given a list of ingredients that can be found on all three of the leviathans, and those who can cook will be instructed on how to create the candies. After that, it's quickly finding those who are cursed and feeding them the gumdrop. One should do, but two might be needed.

Of course, the only way to rid the curse completely is to defeat the Pirat King again. This will require volunteers to sail to Yotelsia where the Pirat King is hiding away again. This time, however, the battle will be a different kind.

About Yotelsia

For those unfamiliar with the island, Yotelsia is an island made of only toys—including the island itself:

A strange island seen during Winterstide, this massive place is a mysteriously magical island covered in all sorts of toys. This is an island known to belong to the Frostsinger a powerful winter spirit, and every year during Winterstide she allows access for those to harvest toys and other materials for the winter season.

Those who venture out and near the island will notice the magic surrounding this island almost immediately. The once fluid water becomes choppier and blocky to the point where most ships must either use equipment similar to ice breakers to get through or stop completely before risking damage from the strange green and blue blocks that now float and fill the waters surrounding the island. Sailors will find their bodies changing to match the island’s power as well— they may find themselves turning into toys themselves.

The island itself is made completely out of "toy materials"—fabrics, felt, wood, metal, cotton. There is nothing "living" here, including the plants. Felt trees, plastic bushes, popsicle stick cliffs, building block hills. It's a mishmash of everything with no rhyme or reason. And usually, nothing is living here, just plain toys.

In addition to the plethora of toys and plants, the Frostsinger’s familiars can be found frolicking all over the island. These speedy jackalopes are friendly for the most part but often get into trouble and need to be rescued. But when they are not getting into mischief they are known to guide and help wayward travelers across the island.

(The following prompts are set only in Yotelsia.)

⛵ Sink their battleship. The moment ships near Yotelsia's shores, both ship and crew will turn into a toy form, shrinking down to considerable size. They will find that the "water" has turned into "squares" with "pegs" on them and a misty wall has appeared to obscure their view of the opposing side. Rather than a direct fight, they must try and guess their opponent's position to launch giant gumdrop cannonballs. Only once they manage to hit the ship once will the fog clear and direct combat can be engaged.

💃 Dance Dance Doom. After making it to the shore and moving further in, people find themselves grouped up on a platform with arrows and symbols on it. It will rise up and take them over a giant chasm of sticky, melted marshmallows. Music will play from somewhere and arrow combinations will be seen flying towards them. These are actually (toy) missiles and they must hit the proper combo and sequence to destroy the flying arrows and to advance the platform. Should they fail, the platform will take damage and fall until it crashes into the marshmallow pit. Those who fall can escape and be rescued, but it will take a while. Groups (pairs) can work together to coordinate combination hits, which could prove useful for any fast or insane combinations.

🦛 Hungry Hungry Hippo. Past that is a swamp filled with toy hippos, and they are hungry. Capable of stretching their necks out a considerable length, whack the large gumballs that are scattered throughout the swap to appease them. If fed well, they will help them cross the swamp.

👟 Whack a Rat. Beyond the swamp is a field littered with holes. Every so often, a toy version of the Pirat King appears out of the hole to taunt them. Here the Frostsinger will appear and give them all ballet slippers to use. Wearing them will turn them large enough to stomp on the holes. Otherwise, one could try and run and smack them with the slipper, or throw it. A new slipper will appear. Destroy as many of the rats as possible.

After getting through the challenges, the Pirat King will be angered enough to finally reveal itself. Now it's up to the lady luck to determine how fighter's fare. Use a 20-sided die and note the number in the subject line to be referenced later (we'll ask for all the rolls used for AC submissions). If the roll is 10, then whatever action will likely fail. If it's 10 then it's likely to succeed. You can opt to roll for the Pirat King or not.

QUESTS

The current MANTA Board is available, but we have a couple of additional quests that are specific for the event! Teaming up is of course encouraged, no matter what the affiliation. You can assume they acquired some kind of ship for the quests out at sea, either the starter ship or some other ship heading out there. All quests will be worth 4 points.

Frosty Finesse

Eltrut

A large pad of ice has appeared in the center of Eltrut. No one is sure where this pad of ice came from, but a challenge has appeared to see who can traverse across it the fastest. Using all manners of skills or magic, whoever can get to the other side without crashing might just get a nice reward. Race your comrades, challenge someone from the opposite armada, or just enjoy a leisurely skate across the pretty glossy ice. If you can make it across the fastest you will be rewarded with a scarf and pair of mittens that always stay toasty warm even in the coldest of nights.

Everywhere

Tiny creatures have appeared and have been annoying the locals, always wisping around their heads while trying to get them to do something. There has been a demand for travelers to get rid of these pesky and nosy things before someone loses their patience. The tiny creatures themselves seem to be trying to whisper something in people’s ears. Maybe if you listen you’ll hear something good. Or maybe they’ll tell others your deepest desires. All anyone knows is that they’re known to lie. Get rid of them by capturing them with nets, shooing them away with your hand or … burning them with fire. You do you.

An Order for Jadis

Atnam

A local bakery is requesting help in creating a large batch of turkish delight as fast as possible for a client who claims that she is a witch. So long as you can lift heavy bags of sugar or work with your hands, you’re more than welcome to help. Team up with someone to get as many batches of this squishy sweet delight made as possible and as fast as possible. Just beware that making turkish delight can be a little messy. The sweet dessert is sticky and goopy. It requires boiling, mixing, cooling and shaping. So it won’t be an easy task!

Rootin’ Tootin’ Shootin’

Eltrut

A small travelling merchant ship has docked on Eltrut and is offering a little challenge. They have several painted wooden targets set up and are challenging dock-goers to shooting the targets with a simple handheld pistol. It’s a challenge of precision and speed as the little wooden targets move and shift around quickly and it can be tricky to get them. If a challenger can shoot down a good score of targets, they will be rewarded with a discount on the ship’s stock of fancy handmade pistols that they have for sale. Nice marketing technique?

Arrival
[Kieran had not expected to wake up falling from the sky into a pile of netting on an unfamiliar ship, but that’s exactly what happens this morning. While the sailors had been kind to him and helped tell him what’s going on, he still feels very disoriented and lost, especially in these threadbare clothes. He’s displaced, confused, and really just wanting his stuff back, and the sailors had promised that the map he’s given from the strange magic typewriter should reunite him with his belongings.]

[He eventually follows the map to where his belongings are, but when he gets there and begins to go through his things, he begins to panic. He digs through the treasure chest, searching frantically while muttering under his breath.]

What? No, no, no no nonono..! Why is there only one?? Where’s the rest of them!?

[Oh, he looks close to panicking. He may need some help calming down…]

Around Eltrut
[After finally being reunited with his belongings and settling in a little bit, Kieran isn’t exactly sure where to go. Having come from a small town, this bustling port town on the back of a giant turtle is extremely different from what he’s used to, and he spends a good portion of his initial hours just wandering around and getting his bearings. Even though he does his best to not stand out, it’s quite obvious how excited he is while he gapes at the massive ships or the various animal people walking around.]

Oh man… this really is like falling into a movie or somethin’..! Wowzers…

[As enamoured as he is by his surroundings, it’s quite possible that he might just end up bumping into someone due to not paying attention. If he does he will stumble back, blinking up at them and tugging on his hair in a nervous fidget.]

Oh..! Uh, sorry about that…

[Eventually he will be in need of some food, and being too young for the taverns he will make his way over to one of the cafes and slip inside. He’ll purchase some food and make his way to a quiet corner booth, where he can be found sitting with a strange apple dragon creature beside him. While he sits, he lets out a sigh, poking at the apple pastry before him.]

Aw man… this is a lot harder than I thought. I’ve got no idea what I'm supposed to do here…

[The apple dragon creature lets out a chirr, nosing at his shoulder as if in encouragement. Kieran smiles, moving to rub the dragon’s snout.]

Well, I guess I’m not completely alone in this weird place, huh?

Festival - Food and Drink
[Kieran’s been to the Festival of Masks in Kitakami since he was a child, and he knows about certain other festive celebrations in Unova thanks to his stay at Blueberry Academy, but this? This giant winter festival takes the cake on festivals. It’s grander than any festival he’s ever seen, with enough food and drink to feed the whole town. It certainly helps boost his moods, and with his liking for sweets it's not long before he’s in front of the food tables, eagerly trying the wide selection of foods and desserts.]

[It isn’t long before he’s got a plate full of food, half loaded with actual food and half loaded with dessert. He’e eying the Winter Snowzie curiously, tapping his free fist against his chin.]

A Winter Snowzie… is it any good? I’ve never had anything like it back home…

Burning Logs
[After having his fill of food and walking around the festival, Kieran finds the log burning station. Hearing about how the logs help burn away negative energies, and likening it to similar beliefs back in Kitakami, he decides to take a try at it. It’s not an easy task — he’s not exactly an art student — but he makes do with what he can. Even his Hydrapple, who’s typing makes it really dislike the cold, has come out to offer its own assistance (even if its heads tend to bicker over some of their decoration choices.]

[As he works, he’ll look around for some more supplies, before turn to someone who’s nearby.]

Uh… could you pass me the tinsel? [Beside him, his Hydrapple lets out a cheerful Hydraa! in greeting.]

Mari Lwyd
[As the festival begins to wind down, Kieran’s feeling ready to go home. But while he makes his way out of the festival grounds, he gets a chill go up his back and he stops, looking around. Normally he wouldn’t be so jumpy, but being in a strange new world makes Kieran’s hackles raise. But when he turns, he’s not expecting to become face to face with a giant horse’s skull. He lets out a yelp and leaps back, eyes wide.]

Woah!! W-What the heck are you??

[On instinct, he tosses his Pokeball and calls forth Hydrapple, who lets out a roar and hisses at the strange horse-headed creature. They look ready for a fight, but someone might want to let Kieran know that this is a friendly winter spirit!]

[A. Surasthana Cafe: Holiday Edition.

Kaveh doesn't know much about winter celebrations, and thanks to a potion he forgot he'd consumed months ago, he's enjoying the snowy weather. But after some observations, he's decided to get in the spirit of things here at the Surasthana cafe.

Those stopping by will find several seasonal activities to choose from or help Kaveh with!

First off, Kaveh is hard at work decorating the cafe and has stockpiled supplies to help decorate the rest of Eltrut. Stand near him too long and he'll hand you an armful of tinsel and flower wreaths with a bright smile. If that's not your speed, he also has tables to help put together holly crowns. Like the one currently modeled by Mehrak, who looks quite festive, thank you!

There seems to be a mild infestation of minis, though, which could lead to...problems...]

[B. Hot Cocoa/Mini Mayhem
You see, the seasonal special at the Cafe is hot chocolate! Kaveh's stocked up on marshmallows, whipped cream, candy canes and all kinds of add-ins, and the best cocoa he could get his grubby mitts on. If you ask, he'll even hand out cups of warm cocoa for free to anyone looking especially in need of it. That's not the problem.

The problem is the minis have, in fact, spiked some of the cocoa, and they're very good at doing it without Kaveh noticing.

Dare you risk it? Or do you want to enjoy the buzz of boozey hot chocolate, because it's still quite good?]

[C. Mari Lwyd

There's a third problem from this. A certain skeleton horse has heard about the booze, so she's made her way into the shop. As is tradition, she's demanding Kaveh hand over the alcohol (which he insists is not on the menu) or defeat her in a...battle of words? [as far as food goes, this festival has got it going on. Angel Dust hasn't really celebrated the holidays in... uh. a while? mostly because Hell doesn't do that. why would it? sure, there are some demons there who may care about winter and its festivities, but it is certainly not the norm.

that's why Angel is making the most of his time while he's here. to experience new and old things, to indulge in the freedom he has while he's able to be on the surface. he's piled up his own plate with food, and has some spiked eggnog to give him a little buzz while he eats. he's not really interested in mingling, too much, but, eh, he may try his hand at decorating or even ingredient-gathering later.

wearing a cozy sweater and leggings and boots, he gracefully plops down at a table near Kieran, ready to dig in to what is on his plate. he's certainly strange-looking, sitting all alone with his tall spider-demon self, humming. he just about towers above everyone else, at least the humans, and he has an extra pair of arms. yeah, he's weird...]

[Zack never thought that "decorating a giant turtle with gift bows" would be on his resume but here he is. With a massive festive red bow in his arms and a giant turtle's head that he has to get it on top of.]

[ The feeling of free falling is never a fun sensation and it's followed shortly after with a freezing splash of water. Kagome swims to the surface as quickly as possible, already shivering. It reminds her of another time when she plunged into cold water just to take a bath in the Feudal Era for the first time. ]

C-c-cold!

[ She'll tread water while getting a good look around. There's a very large ship floating nearby and it looks like the crew is working to get other people sorted out. Kagome lifts a hand and waves it. ]

Over here! Throw me a rope before I freeze to death!

[ Somehow her clothes have been changed, rather than the priestess robes she had been wearing, she's wearing something that looks like a tattered sailor's outfit. While whoever on deck runs around, Kagome is going to wrap both arms around herself and mutter quietly. ]

Where I have ended up this time?

Eltrut
[ She's no stranger to a mobile phone, though they were very simple in her time. A flip phone is a lot different from a smartphone, but she can figure out the most basic of features. Kagome will accept a tour from one of the birdfolk, so she can be found out and about in the city at random points during the day.

Catch or come along with her when she's looking for her belongings via treasure map, mumbling the directions under her breath.

Upon learning how her powers are gone, but a magical tattoo can return them... Kagome reluctantly stands outside the Ink Parlor. ]

This is crazy! Having to get a tattoo just to use my spiritual powers.

Holly Crowns
[ It'll be easy to find Kagome here making various holly crowns for the holiday. She chooses plants that aren't too overwhelming to the nose, considering there are a few dog demons with a keen sense of smell that these are intended for.

For anyone who might be struggling to make a holly crown, Kagome will happily lend out some advice. ]

Snowball War
[ It's been a while since Kagome has seen snow or had the chance to simply play in it. This means that she has to take the opportunity while she can.

She easily balls up some of the snow and throws it at various victims. ]

Snow Pirates
[ After seeing other people make snowmen, Kagome is also joining in on the winter fun. She's not making any of the snow pirates, but perhaps some will notice a little snowfamily. There are definitely little dog ears on one of the snowmen's heads.

When she feels the task is done, she steps back and claps her hands together happily. There's a mother, a father, and a daughter. She could also make Sesshomaru a little ways away, since the demon is more distant. Perhaps Kagome can get Moroha to help make his children. ]

There, it's perfect! What do you think? Is it missing anything?

[ Kagome blows on her fingers to warm them up. ]

Toy Soldier Shootout
[ She's no stranger to danger, even if that danger takes the form of toys with weapons that will hurt but aren't likely to be deadly. There is a handful of large nutcrackers aiming their guns and Kagome pulls arrows from her quiver. ]

[ Is all the warning she'll give before firing off those arrows. Pure light engulfs them, turning the arrows into streaks of light that surround the toy soldiers. The toys are blasted with spiritual energy, knocking them all off their feet for the moment. ]

We should restrain them before they get back up again!

Dance Dance Boom
[ This particular thing is very curious and also a bit familiar. The young woman takes off her bow and quiver to hand them to the nearest person that seems trustworthy. ]

Hold this. I haven't played in a bit.

Festival

[ Yeah, the Christmas feelings are tough to ignore. And here she thought she'd never have another Christmas away from her family! But she does her best to shove down her feelings (A McDuck clan tradition!) so she can focus on bringing good cheer to everyone. And boy, there's a lot to do!

When it comes to the holly crowns, she feels a bit mischievous and is climbing on rooftops or other high places to drop them on people's heads. Enjoy the sudden crowning! It'll be easy to find out who it came from, since her gleeful giggling is pretty loud.

She also finds herself bitten by a mistlebat and she wants kicks instead of kisses! Her eyes glitter with the sudden urge to fight, hitting her fist into an empty palm. ]

WHO WANTS SOME?! I'm a little duck but I've got a LOT to vent out! Bring it! And no holding back! YOU, YOU MET MY EYES, DIDN'T YOU?!

[ On the somber side of things, she can also be found burning logs with a sad but wistful look on her face. She's thinking of a particular Christmas, and lets out a weary chuckle as she watches the embers glow. ]

... This is gunna sound, but one of my fondest holiday members was meeting my son before I actually had him.

[ Back to the jolly! When it comes to the Ribbon Dance, she's always eager to get her groove on. She might not even wait for the birds, and begins tugging on her end of the ribbon toward her, trying to get her partner, reluctant or otherwise, towards her.

She's also enjoying the Jackalope chase though her enjoyment may decrease every time one escapes her grasp... watch out for the famous Duck Family temper! She also is having a fantastic time in the Snowball War, sharing no mercy to friends or strangers. She might even pop off her metal leg to strike snowballs like golf balls! At least she'll have the good sportsmanship to yell "FORE!" before doing it.

Lastly, Della indulges in creating Snow Pirates... but nobody told her they'd come to life! As such, when she made little snow-men version of her sons Huey, Dewey, and Louie, she was VERY startled to see them move about! Overwhelmed by the cute, she threw her arms around the closest one... causing it's head to fall off. ]

AHHHHHHHHHH! BABY I'M SO SORRY! MOMMY DIDN'T MEAN IT! I CAN FIX THIS! [ she frantically tries to put the head back on the wandering body... ] DEWEY!

Toy Chaos

[ Eh, still doesn't beat the top five weirdest Xmas's she's ever had.

When the Toy Solider Shootout starts, Della just... kinda blinks blandly as she's lightly batted with plastic and rubber. She clicks her tongue, casually shrugging at whoever's nearby. ]

Gotta say, it's not exactly threatening. You wanna grab some lunch while these things wear themselves o - [ And that's when one of them launches a small rock right above her eye. Ow. ] ... On second thought, I'm turning these things into kindling.

[ Della's luck only gets worse as time goes on, as she gets Turned Into A Toy - specifically, a plushie! She wiggles a bit, unable to really move much due to her soft adorable limbs. ]

... Little help here? Down here? ... Please don't take any photos.

[ When she's back to normal, she's eager to track down the source of this insanity and take them down several notches! In fact, her joy increases when she comes across Dance Dance Doom. ]

OH MY GOSH, ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! This is the BEST! I was QUEEN of the arcade when I was a kid! And now I don't have to use my allowance!

[ When it comes to Whack A Rat, however, she seems skeptical at the slipper she's been handed. She eyes it, then down at her own metal leg, which she decides to casually pop off. ]

Think I'll use this, actually. Ought to do way more damage. Though I probably should do this a liiitle less...

[ You don't become a seasoned adventurer without good weaponry know-how. So Rootin’ Tootin’ Shootin’ seems like a piece of cake to her... which is why she wants to spice it up, eyeing anyone nearby. ]

Who's up for a little friendly competition? C'mon, this kind of thing is just BEGGING for it! Unless we got some cowards here...

[ She's also rather used to experiments going haywire - thanks, Gyro Gearloose - so with new weaponry in hand, she's ready to take on Steel Watchers. ]

[ Absolutely the reason Kagome reached out and touched them the first time. She blinks in surprise at the gloves. ]

Hm? I don't really get cold. Your fingertips are turning red.

[The woman inclines her head a little towards Kagome's hands, her voice calm and face mostly impassive. She can probably heal frostbite if it comes to it, but she can't warm Kagome's hands herself, so...gloves.]

Arrival:

[Some benefits come with having eaten the devil fruits back home. Being unable to swim? When surrounded by the ocean? Not one of them. Chopper flails as if that would help steer him to the ship as he falls, but he fails that aim. He splashes as he hits the water, but he immediately sinks. Which might be strange considering that his tiny size might have helped him float better. Perhaps he might initially be mistaken for a child, given his smaller size.

Once rescued, Chopper shakes the water from his fur, glancing around. And going wide-eyed at realizing that this....this was not his ship back home. This was not the Straw Hats crew.

Cue him all but immediately jumping up and 'hiding.' Which is to say he hides maybe one-third of his face and body behind something as cover, and the rest of him is still readily and easily visible because he seems to be 'hiding' backward? Watching. As if everyone can't see him and are probably standing staring at the tiny reindeer.]

Decorating:

[Cue the tiny reindeer wanting to help. And finding that his smaller height makes this a little more difficult. He reaches, trying to help hang some decorations up but he isn't having much luck. Even with standing on a ladder. He flails, attempting to right himself as he leans and almost topples off of it, letting go of the tinsel he was holding in the process.]

Ah! I dropped it!

Holly Crowns:

[Chopper sits with his items, little tongue poking out a little as he concentrates in attempting to figure putting the crown together. This might be a lot easier if he had fingers. He manages well enough with his hooves, of course, but some things were trickier for him.]

This is harder than it looks.

Snow Pirates:

It's missing something....

[Chopper muses to himself, standing in front of his attempt at a snow pirate. Of course, it is based on his beloved Captain. Chopper debates momentarily before asking for a straw hat, wanting to add that finishing touch. Because clearly, the snow pirate captain needs one, too! The hat is iconic to Luffy's look, after all!]

Toy Chaos:

[Chopper is used to transforming, sure. Just not like this. He's not sure what to make of it. Some might have mistaken him for a soft toy before, regardless, given his appearance, but that didn't mean he expected or wanted this!]

Whaaaaaaaat? What's happening to me?? I know I'm cute, but that doesn't mean I need to be like this?!

A. Burning Logs

[ G'raha is standing there, wearing a holy crown of all things. He's not wearing anything to keep warm, likely because he doesn't feel the need to! For some reason ~~like a potion taken ages ago he's forgotten about~~ he feels perfectly fine out in this weather. However, he can't just not celebrate the season!

His log is decorated, quite messily, with ribbons of varying colors. There are a few bows that he's tied and somehow those look perfectly fine? Ah, whatever. It looks as though he is admiring the fire and the stories that will, inevitably come with. ]

Care to share in any tales from home? I've got a few, but I warn you that I might ramble. [ He turns to the person next to him with a smile and a chuckle. His tail is moving back and forth, ready to go! ] If not, I doubt it is a requirement.

B. Snowball War

[ Be warned! G'raha is not the sort of person that is going to play fair here! If he uses some wind magic to make his snowballs fly faster, who is going to really know? ]

[ And... In return? He might resort to using his shields to stop a couple here and there from actually hitting him in return. This might take a team effort in order to bring the cat down or -

C. Food and Dance

[ G'raha loves to partake in all of the treats that the season has to offer. So it won't be much of a surprise to see him engaging in festive treats that are available. This means that he will be going around trying to offer such things to the people around him and helping with the hot pot ingredients.

Oh he can be found doing quite a few things - anything from jumping across the snowflakes to engaging in those ribbon dances! ]

[ A sigh. He taps his fingers against his chin, assessing the toy hippos and all of the round objects scattered about the swamp. He's already tired and uncomfortable, but augh. This time it is a bit more personal and thus his involvement. ]

[The last thing that Sora can remember is watching the sky. It isn't a sunset, it is the sky as dark as the ocean at night with brilliant, shiny stars as far as his eyes can see. And ... nothingness. The swirl of time and space echoing in sparks around him, feeling like his skin is turning to icy crystal, cold water splashing under his feet and nothingness...

"Like, is any of this for real or not?"

"If you are who you say, and it was fate that brought us here... then... my path is clear."]

What?!

[And a flash of bright white light. The next thing Sora knows is he's falling and the sky is filling with clear blue and fluffy white clouds. He yelps in the air, shifting and turning to try and land on something, anything, without cracking a rib.]

Whoa?! Ahhh?! Hey!!!!!

[The first thing he manages to grab is the ledge of something wooden. He slams into the side of a random ship with a loud wince, fingers only barely managing to hang on tight!]

Ow! ... Is someone there? Anybody?! Kairi? Riku?! Goofy?! Even Donald?!

[Once Sora catches his bearings and gets his gear back, he jumps right into the winter festivities. Why not? The best way to learn about a new world is to jump right into it! So, he goes out and about to check out just what this giant turtle festival has in store!

He's not exactly expecting to be caught by a little mistlebat that come down and bites him right on the neck.

Ouch?! What the?!

[He slaps his hand over the bite wound and frowns. It's almost right away that Sora notices he feels a little lightheaded and woozy after that. His eyes get a bit hazy too. And the next person who comes across Sora might be met with Sora's bright, friendly smile.]

Hold on a second, are you new here too? Or have you been here for a while?

[Sora will either try and get a kiss out of you or fight you for no real reason.]

[Unsurprisingly, Sora is pretty used to toys running around. He's dealt with toy worlds before, so it's no big deal to see these toys running around trying to cause some chaos. He doesn't understand the real reason behind why they're being so chaotic but if they're causing trouble it's only fair that Sora tries to cause some trouble back.

Hey! I saw you guys make that little girl cry over there. Why don't you pick on someone your own size, huh?!

[And Sora, out of sheer dumb reckless thought kicks one of the nearby nutcrackers that had done the bullying. It goes flying!! Whoosh!

But in return the gang of toys raises their arms up and shout which casts that particular toy curse on Sora. In a puff of smoke, Sora turns into ... a toy!]

Huh?! Hold on a minute?! What's going on?

[Who's someone's own size now?! Sora is action-figure shaped and tiny to boot!]

[ winter is a pretty new experience for xehanort, having grown up as an islander - scala had seasons, but he hadn't lived there long, and the first winter there had been unpleasant and a bit embarrassing given his lack of knowledge.

stubbornly, he's still refusing to wear sleeves, though there's a scarf around his neck and a heavy shawl - it might just be a blanket - tied around his shoulders. he's carrying a small bag of decorations in one hand as he's approached by --

xehanort's brow creases. that face looks awfully familiar, though his general aura is much different from roxas's. ]

I've been here a little while. Do you need help?

[ the cafe was warm and inviting even when it wasn't freezing cold outside. despite his affinity for ice magic, xehanort was not a fan of the cold - he disliked wearing long sleeves and was raised by the beach. definitely not made for this weather.

so he stood with an armful of tinsel, helping string it up anywhere that seemed appropriate. not that he really knew what he was doing with this, either, but his aesthetic sense was good enough to pretend his way through the process. ]
