[ Much like Surge, Amy is also not used to going it alone in fights. It's pretty rare when she has to; she's been blessed with some pretty strong, amazing friends. And it would be a lie to say she's a little out of commission; a month away from home, away from training and fighting has definitely taken it's toll. It's a bit of a wake up call that she's going to have to start training again. Solo or not. Because this is ridiculous.
Amy's strong; she prides herself on her strength and ability to both defend herself and her friends, but it's not just being out of commission. It's this place. Where she'd once been able to hit so hard that it could shatter the ground beneath her, she's found that she's no longer able to do so. She'd been baffled at first, but after talking to so many other people who seem to have lost certain abilities... she realized it wasn't entirely just her being weak. It's their surroundings.
And though she may be strong, she is not fast -- not like Sonic, not like Shadow. Not like Surge. And so, when that second thorn prepares itself, she knows she's screwed. As it makes its way directly towards her, Amy snaps her head in the other direction and prepares for a direct hit -- a hit that never comes, because she finds herself in the arms of her savior, none other than the girl who was going to feed her to these very plants.
Her eyes widen at the familiar feeling of being carried around at high speeds; a feeling she's extremely used to due to years and years and years of fighting alongside Sonic. It's both familiar and unfamiliar for obvious reasons, but she doesn't have time to think about that. There's still a rampaging carnivorous plant that's really pissed off right now.
She doesn't notice Surge's eye, not at first; her attention is on the vines that seem to be chasing them. Hammer still drawn in her right hand, she swings, batting a few extremely sharp, gnarled vines away from Surge's back; the vines withdraw, at least for now, as if the plant, too, feels the pain. Maybe it does. It doesn't much matter, though, because she turns her head to look at that massive, yellow coated thorn that it's going to shoot right at them. Amy prepares to do her best to hit it out of their way, but she doesn't have to -- Surge impressively manages to kick that thorn right back at the flower. It hits its target; the thorn drives so hard into it's large, gaping mouth that it tears a hole right through it and to the back of its head.
The creature writhes as the yellow, acid like substance begins to work its magic, eating the flower from the inside out, until it withers down onto the floor and pools into itself, a bubbling mass of unrecognizable fluids.
Amy's gaze stays on what's left of the flower for only a few seconds, before she glances at Surge. ]
Thank you for the save, but... wow! That was amazing! [ Because, yeah, as weird as this girl is, she did save her... and she's not lying. That was extremely impressive, and it's actually managed to leave the pink hedgehog in awe, a little starstruck. At least, until she notices the chip in one of Surge's quills, how one of her eyes isn't quite as bright as the other. ]
You're hurt-- [ Amy places a gentle hand on the other girl's cheek and tips the tenrec's face just enough to get a look at her eye. The hedgehog looks exceedingly concerned, because she hadn't seen Surge get hit in the eye, but given that one of her quills is chipped she's worried about poison. ]
