the sounds play over and over and over where the once giant flower had turned into nothing, destroyed by its own fluids. it's not something she did alone, but she took part, she had to figure out what to do without her own powers. she feels weak without them, her strength and speed is all that she has, and even as limited as she is... her ears twitch, flopping a bit from the piercings as she can hear the hedgehog beside her.
she can't really see her expression, but what she says? it's hard to ignore, especially when it's things that surge wants to hear.
...the issue is that she's unable to decide if this makes her happy or not, if her tail wants to wag left and right or if she should be sick to her stomach. this is what it's about by being a hero, but to be save an enemy isn't the same... right? she doesn't know, and the moment she opens her mouth to speak does she find herself quiet again at a touch against her cheek.
frozen in place, the tenrec blinks in confusion, stunned from the prospect of her even doing that as her head is tilted, and what light that breaks through the flowers shines down on one eye revealing the light in it is duller than the other. surge can tell that one eye isn't working properly, and that probably is from the poison of the thorn that clipped at her quill earlier.
turning her head away as quickly as she can so that amy can no longer examine the damage, the tenrec is quick to drop the girl out of her arms and onto the ground. it's through her other eye that she gets a better look at the probably not-so-thrilled-expression the hedgehog will make from collision on the ground, but doesn't matter. ]
Chill out! Praise is enough, don't go touching me!
[ it's different when surge has to because how else was she getting this stupid girl out the way. with one step back, she shakes her head, quills moving from left to right. one has a bit of a purple stain that hasn't really spread, but instead shows a small clip of her flesh. ]
I'm fine, as if I'd be bested by some stupid flower.
[ if she speaks it into existence, it must be true, even with the sound of bubbling still happening a good distance away from them. though, something begins to push up through the fluid... nothing but, but... something so small, a very... tiny sprout of a baby plant.
...
it's harmless, not doing anything, and seems to be feeding off the fluids around it as nutrients. must be the circle of life for a thing like that, starts off so small then turns into a terrorizing beast. surge's one eye shifts to look back at the hedgehog as she ignores the sprout. ]
