[Azul notes the tone, but doesn't comment on it. In fact, he's trying to concentrate on getting the water to properly grip and pull out the spine, but this is easier said than done. If it had been one of his tentacles, either the real ones or the ones he can sometimes conjure up using darker magic, it might be easier, but... he doesn't want to resort to something like that in front of a stranger.

The spine the water is wrapped around does seem to jiggle enough to pull up the spine some, ever so slowly, but after another few minutes the water suddenly falls apart, just a wave of water sliding off the turtle's back as Azul sighs.

If only that stupid abduction had not occurred, maybe then he would have more magic to spare right now rather than the time he had to spend toward his recovery first.]
