revenge is a dish best served cold
Who: Roxas and you
Status: Open
Where: Around
What: Roxas joins the hunt for those involved in the Crystallization scheme. He's got a few bones to pick.
Warnings: might get violent? Will update if necessary
[It's been some time now, and he's still angry.
Fighting some feral hogs, and his rift-faring adventures have quelled it somewhat, but there's still some anger there, under the surface. Anger at what had taken place in general, and also just more the shame in his defeat, in being locked up. The pain of the crystals and the fact that they still show up on his skin. It's why he's taken to wearing shirts with longer sleeves.
So when the bounties go up, he figures he can at least help. There are people who have to pay, and if he gets a little justice in the meantime. Well, all the better.
Roxas can be found in places he probably shouldn't be. Sketchy bars and dark alleys and places hidden away. It's been a long time since he's had to use these skills. But he's not going away until he sees at least some of these people behind bars.]
[ooc: Roxas does not really care who he's going after, so the identity of the bounty is extremely flexible. Additional plotting can be done at

or what passes for justice. sometimes that does involve death. take them off the board before more harm can be done. but she'll let someone else make that call.
so it is, after some debate, that she finds herself in a fairly shady bar. typical, really. she still doesn't trust most things or people here, and that goes for drinks, but she does what she has to, up to and including ordering a drink and chatting up a bartender.
time to start learning exactly how to pull out information from people.
when roxas finds his way into this place, she's sitting at the bar, back to the majority of the room. she might look like she's not paying attention, but she's got an ear out for anyone approaching. a detective like her doesn't get as far as she has without learning a healthy dose of paranoia and caution. ]
I'm in the market for some information, [ she says to the bartender, swirling the drink he's just set in front of her. ] Might have something you want for it.

He spots Neve at the bar and makes his way over quietly. He's mostly just listening.
There's a small smile if he catches her eye.]</small.

or it just looks heavy and strange, given the weave and the gauntlets.
the most she does in response to roxas's casual appearance is lock eyes briefly. then her attention is back on the bartender. the less that people think she knows roxas, the better. they can meet up after. she has a feeling he's after the same thing she is. ]
What can I do for you, sweetheart?
[ she ignores the pet name the way she would if she were infiltrating a venatori soiree, letting it and his tone roll off her back. ]
You know me. I'm looking for information. A statue-maker. Tall, dark hair. Heard he sometimes frequents the shadows near your establishment. Thought you might want someone to look into that.
[ the bartender leans on the bar, rubbing at a spot with his cleaning cloth like all they're discussing is the state of cleanliness. ]
Might've heard something like that.
[ she recognizes his type instantly. for a few moments, she waits to see if he'll offer her anything else, but when it becomes clear that he's not going to, she slowly reaches into her side pouch, pulls out a few coins, and places them on the table. the bartender continues to wipe up the bar, sliding his cloth over the coins and sweeping them away. ]
Yeah, heard he likes the back alley at sundown. Good for business. Might see him if you've got coin worth the investment.
[ neve's smile is slow as she picks up her drink and takes a sip. ] Thanks. I think I've got just what he wants.
[ she stays for a little longer, to chat the bartender up so her presence here looks less like she's just here for the information and thus less suspicious to anyone else watching. after twenty or so minutes, she's drained her glass and makes her way outside to see if roxas will join her or if he's already made his way out too. ]

He's waiting outside for her, leaning against the side the building in a small alcove. He'll fall in step beside her.]
So, the back alley, huh?
sorry for the delay! i really need my brain to come back @.@
Looks like. Won't have to wait long, either. Just until sundown.
[ she keeps walking, casually, like she has a place in mind to go but is in no rush to get there. in truth, she's making a winding way around to kill time before they head back to that specific alley. no use in literally standing around to wait. that's how people get themselves ambushed and on a case like this, it's not worth the risk. ]
I take it you're invested in seeing this through, too?
no subject
Yeah. I feel like I gotta.
After everything.
[The words have a weight to them. A focus.]
They can't keep getting away with stuff.
