A Strange Shopping List
Having been convinced by Rem that a ship of their own, set up with the equipment and libraries needed, would be more useful in conducting the research they were interested in, Daqiang has done his own research into how mortals of the world go about acquiring one. There were the usual mentions of sometimes having ships stolen out from under a captain - particularly if a Corsair was boasting about taking a ship previously owned by a Paladin. But the most common consensus was that if you wanted a ship that would match your needs, you should gather appropriate materials and 'offer' them to the God-Beasts.
What sort of materials? Well, besides the usual wood and cloth and such, it seemed that items and components that would have significance or relevance to the ship the God-Beast was creating for you were just as important. As such, Daqiang had inquired with Rem and then Kimmuriel about what they felt was appropriate and came up with a short, but very odd, list: Magitech Items (still determining what sort), Stainless Steel, Black Jade, and one Dragonfly. And since it was so odd, gathering the materials became an exercise in visiting multiple ports for both information and discussions with merchants.
During the first half of December, Daqiang can be found on Elah, Eltrut, Nogard, and Antam speaking (or arguing) with various merchants over the costs of stainless steel, out in the wildlands of the leviathans chasing down rumored veins of black jade. Maybe you've chosen to help him in acquiring the materials and that's why you're knee deep in mud while Daqiang releases yet another dragonfly you caught because it's 'not good enough'.
Recruiting
If you've been invited to join the Raiders of the Lost Arts or have heard the rumors of them recruiting, and have yet to meet the strongest in the Three Realms, the great devil and Moon Supreme, Dongfang Qingcang, well he's not that hard to track down. His inquiries into procuring a ship have made it easy for anyone unfamiliar with him to get pointed his way by most merchants and port authorities.
On Nogaurd he is easiest to find onboard the Stormbringer as he still has a cabin there. If he's not immediately available, go ahead and hang out with Deathstar, the large, black, warrior cat that Daqiang took on as a 'servant' but whom gets treated more like minor royalty himself. He's very friendly and affectionate and would enjoy a shoulder ride even if he's too big for shoulders in question.
On Elah or Eltrut, he is largely keeping to the merchant quarters and around midday, you're certain to find him enjoying a meal at a private table set up where he can watch the various mortals walk by. He's the perpetually grumpy one dressed like he just walked out of a royal court.

[He should have seen the gallows when she was finished with them—
But as the goose rears its head back from the fiery attack, Benedikta loses her grip on it, and it flails its long neck around for her now. She darts sky high, dodging out of its way and tossing smaller wind attacks at it. Right in the chomper, as it opens her mouth to try and gobble her right up, but...]
Fuck. Cover your ears!
[Because a giant, angry HOOOONNNNNKKKKKK is about to shake the whole island.]

Unfortunately, his teleport also put him in the path of another head that took the opportunity presented to slam into his side and send him careening out over the ocean. He'd get his bearings before he ever came close to a splash down, but it did get him out of the immediate fight for a moment.]

Fucking thing could easily shatter their drums if it wanted to. As if it wasn't bad enough already—
And it gets worse when she sees Dongfang get flung into the ocean by one of its heads, and she dives after him. She could leave him, yes, and perhaps any other time she might have let him figure it out himself—or drown, if she felt like it—but they have a goose to fry and she is not going to attempt it alone. Or with the few dozens of other people scattered about at its feet.
That same head comes in to crash down on it, and here comes Benedikta with not one, but two enormous claws now, feathers wrapped around her arms and the talons where her hand should be, and she lands right over the goose's eye and drags them over to get a hold before she finally pierces them...
... and holds on. Is this a terrible idea? Maybe, but when has any of this been a good idea?]
Shoot it!

If the claws were bigger and could crush the head, crack it open, his own fire would be far more effective in bringing and swift end to at least one of the heads.
A torrent of blue fire spread out to wrap around them, curled like a serpentine dragon ready to strike while Daqiang set one hand to Benedikta's back.]
Crack it like an egg.
[He ordered (with far too much glee for such a request) and shoved his own power into Benedikta. Cid had been able to generate a single bolt of lighting that could bring Daqiang to knees with that power. He looked forward to what Benedikta could do to the goose.]

Fuck...!
[She grumbles it under her breath, and the claws dig in a little deeper, making the goose swing its head about at the pain and the blood pouring over the talons and the white feathers wrapping her arms.
Okay. When Cid had told her that he had received that transfer of power from Dongfang, she didn't think this is what that meant. She does wonder if she feels something different than what he did, with Garuda having awakened a little more than the other Eikons that day she tore apart the gallows, but Founders, is she loud...
Shutting her eyes, a shriek belts out of her—a mix of Garuda's and her own before she's pushing off of the goose, shoving Dongfang back with her. And it won't be a claw that manifests... not yet.
A violent gale erupts from where they are, a whirlwind large enough to scoop up one or two of the goose's heads in full growing over the shore, picking up water along with it. It all but blinds the head that they had gotten caught up with. Which allows her to strike with more ease.
She extends a hand and there it is—that massive claw that Dongfang had been hoping for manifesting in the air beside her, tethered to her fingertips with string of green magic. It cuts through the air with a whip of her hands, disappearing into the storm, and when she snaps her fingers shut into a fist, there's a loud squawk. A pull of her arm, and it yanks the goose's head right out and into view, the claw grasping its neck tight.
Squeezing, squeezing... squeezing...]
