[On a weekend early in the month, if you happen to be on Eltrut, you might smell something pretty delicious. That's because Darin has seen how much stress everyone is under since things got intense between the armadas. And what's a good way to loosen up? By taking a day off, relaxing on the beach, and eating a ton of delicious food!]

[The beach behind Darin and Zelda's home is an idyllic spot for a large gathering. There's a grassy slope leading down to the beach and a large swath of open sand to sunbathe and relax on. There's even a small pier that Darin built himself for you to leap off into the ocean, should you choose!]

[There's plenty of towels, chairs, umbrellas and parasols, and you better believe there's plenty of food. Darin himself is manning two enormous grills and serving up burgers, hot dogs, kebabs, whatever you want! When the sun sets, Darin will start up a bonfire for people to hang out by and relax! Got fireworks? Bring 'em!]

[Guests are encouraged to bring friends and neighbors, to spread the word, bring whatever food and drink you'd like to contribute, and anything else you might want to have. Snacks? Games? Drinks? Darin's got coolers ready for you and all he asks is that you have a good time! Anyone caught harshing the vibes will be pitched out to sea by the host himself and everyone will laugh.]

[Hell, he might just toss you if he thinks it'll be fun so let's not rule anything out.]

(OOC: Please feel free to make your own top level with whatever you want! The house will be open for people to change into swimsuits, naturally, and you can stay for as long as you want!)

Okay but don't you think it's important to know what the threshold is? What if we're handling a major crisis somewhere? I mean, Elah's kinda breaking apart. It might be best to know at one point we have to worry about you sinking.

I can tie you to my chest?

That's -- I mean....?

[Basically if he gets more than half submerged? He's sinking. It doesn't even have to be ocean water. Just. In general. So he's just learned to be careful with bathing, basically. And hasn't exactly tested it. He's just been more cautious to be on the safer side.]

If you -- you think that would work?

Sure! I mean, I'm strong enough to lift an anchor without any issues, so unless you suddenly weight several tons I think it should be safe!

Besides, it's kinda sad that you're not allowed to swim. You should be able to have fun like everyone else!

I dunno if we suddenly weigh more. The others are able to pull us up out of the water if we fall in. Usually, it's Luffy.

[Because, of course it is. Still, Chopper can't deny that it would be nice. To be able to cool off. He's not necessarily considering the idea of something like what people might use to carry babies. But something like a baby sling to carry him would probably work, given his usually smaller size probably being about right.]

You think it would work? I guess. Maybe we can try?

Tell you what, we go in for a little bit. If you start feeling off, I'll pull you right out. We go with your comfort levels.

And! As added incentive, I made sure I stocked a cooler with candy~

Yeah? Um, okay....Candy?!

[They say the way to someone's heart is through their stomach. Chopper is not really an exception to that. At all. And he is hardly subtle about his sweet tooth. So, of course, the mention of sweets later is a definite incentive for the reindeer. He all but lights up in excitement at that, as if Darin said the magic word. Which he kind of did, as far as the tiny doctor is concerned.]

Yeah! Come on, it's not a summertime party without something sweet, right? I got cooler full to keep them from melting!

Besides, I gotta take care of my crew! And that includes my favorite doctor!

Yes! You're the best, Darin!

[....is he just saying that because the guy plies him with treats? Quite probably. But still. Chopper will never not be excited for sweets. There's a reason he's rather well known back home for his love of cotton candy, and his crew uses that to their advantage in weaponizing it to calm him down if he gets upset.]

What'd you get? Can I see and try something now? Or after we try going in the water?

[Gods, Darin beams. Even now, he's still not used to getting praised!]

[He leads Chopper over to one of the coolers and pops the lid to showcase a bevy of delicious sweets. From various flavored ice pops to ice creams and frozen candy bars. There's flavored ice and even some waffle cones in plastic wrap to serve ice cream on.]

Got any particular requests, or are you not picky when it comes to sweet things?

So many options! It all looks so good! Um. Maybe an ice cream?

[He spots the cones. So. Maybe one of those to start with. He'll just have to be careful not to let it melt and get on his clothes. It's not cotton candy, but it's still sweet. So still definitely acceptable as far as he is concerned.]

Oh, is there strawberry ice cream?

Yeah! Strawberry is one of the core flavors! Do you want it on a cone or do you want one of these?

[Darin pulls out a wrapped ice cream sandwich. Strawberry icecream between two soft looking cookies.]

These are great. I didn't even know they made ice cream like this!

Yes! I'll have - what's that?

[It looks like cookies? But...softer somehow? Chopper doesn't usually mind just having a cone or a cup. But he is curious. Of course, he is, if this might mean adding all the more sugar to the ice cream somehow. As if he needs it. He really doesn't. But it isn't like Darin has stopped him from devouring so much cotton candy before. So. This is probably fine? Right?]

[Darin pulls the wrapping off and hands the ice cream sandwich over to Chopper, similarly pulling one from the cooler and unwrapping one for himself.]

It's like an ice cream sandwich! With the cookies as bread! It's such a good idea I can't believe people on my world hadn't thought of it!

Now, if only they'd make an ice cream pie! Then the only shape I'd be in would be round!

[It takes some restraint for the little reindeer not to just. Shove the whole thing in his mouth. He tries a bite as he takes the offered ice cream from Darin, thanking him. His eyes widen and seem to light up as he tries it, giving a small hum of delight.]

Mm! So good!

[Darin laughs. Gods, Chopper's adorable. You wouldn't think the little guy was a doctor, but Darin knows a thing or two about judging people by appearances alone. Chopper might be cute, but he's far from dumb.]

So...hey, Chopper. As a doctor, do you mostly study medicine or have you ever performed surgeries?

Hm? Oh. I've done surgeries before. It all depends on what the patient needs. Why?

[Chopper was used to people tending to judge him by his appearance. Usually, either by being weirded out or thinking he was adorable and underestimating him. He knows the other is aware of his medical training, though. Not that Chopper has necessarily gone into specifics about his experience over the years back home.

It's. Probably easy to forget that, when he's in this form and has ice cream smeared on his face, his cheeks, though.]
