So you don't know where you're going and you wanna talk
Who: Axel and (almost) all of Kingdom Hearts
Status: Closed to Sora's KH allies and occupants of Hero's Rest.
Where: Hero's Rest
What: The cast of KH attempt to explain the Plot to a man who has only experienced half of it
Warnings: N/A. We're Disney
[Heroes Rest. A sprawling island that Plus Ultra has steadily been making into a habitable environment. From stony paths that carve through natural hot springs and flowering trees, to waterfalls and shell-strewn beaches, it has space aplenty-- in spite of the rapidly growing crew beginning to settle there.
Axel has come to know its shores as the closest thing he has had to a home and he could think of nowhere better, safer, to find some clarity and give warning. Moreover it's somewhere secluded enough that certain outside parties weren't about to make any appearances and catch him offguard, a second time.
He might have been content to leave Saix in the dark but the renegade can't do the same for long. He has asked Sora and any of the Hero's allies from their former realm to meet here and discuss it.
Today Axel needs answers, whatever that means for him.]

Finally she does decided to do more than just linger in the background and speaks up. ]
He ran into me and we spoke about a few things.
no subject
He'll just lean over and whisper to her,]
What do you think, Naminé? Do you think it'll be safe to keep Saix around?
no subject
Where are the moogles???
She moves her hand up to further cover the noise of her whispered answer ]
Hmmm, I think so. I told him a tiny bit, not much, just that we did win. He was... happy to hear that.
no subject
Whoa, he was happy about it? [Sora tilts his head.] I guess in the end he gets his heart back too, huh? Just like Lea.
[That's a pretty big fact, here. Maybe it'll be okay. But ... They'll have to convince people like Roxas.]
no subject
Mmm, I think so. It's just he... [ how to say this? It feels like a personal assumption to make about him, but at the same time she's pretty confidant in it. Mostly because it feels familiar. ] doesn't seem to really want to acknowledge it. Or talk about it.
[ Like a lot of people it seems. ]
no subject
[He thinks that it's probably great news if they can get their hearts back! Why not talk about it?! And if Saix is already thinking things like he's happy for Naminé getting her own body? That's a good start.]
Maybe with some time he'll warm up to the idea.
no subject
[ Having a heart does mean the chance to get hurt. Or having to acknowledge all of those feelings, like pain and fear. Which are not particularly fun things to think about. ]
I hope he will in time and that everyone can find some common ground. We have so many chances here. [ to be more than what they were. to do things without as many outside influences. possibilities really seem endless and it feels like a waste to just not grab those. ]

When I was from compared to when he was from. What do you know about that already? [ Why is time so weird here? ]
no subject
He had tried so hard to move on, remember Isa fondly and accept things as they are but it's hard to mourn when you don't experience grief and know you shouldn't miss the people who hurt so many others.
And now it seems Isa.. Saix. Everyone knew he had a future all along.]
"I really didn't think I'd see him again. Or that his time could differ much from mine."
[He regards her a moment.]
"Seems everyone's from further down the line."
no subject
[ But she's not going to volunteer it up immediately. Will timelines get negatively impacted if too much is share? Or will it somehow cause more problems for him than good to know what may come? What a problem to have... ]
Axel, what do you remember last?
no subject
[But he at least knew that much before this meeting. You don't forget fading, or arriving in a festival celebrating the dead right after. He waves her off.]
"Nevermind that. I'm filled in enough. What matters is figuring out if Saix is here under orders or washed up like the rest of us."
[If he gave any clues about his timeline..?]
no subject
[ Really, she doesn't think there's too much of a difference between the two. It's also something she's wondering about about Saix himself. Perhaps when the change first happens there is some sort of big difference between Nobodies and who they were, but it seems like they change. Grow. At this point she's seen too much to not at least insist a tiny bit that there's less of a difference between Axel and Lea and Saix and Isa than they think.
Of course it's said in her soft voice, but when is she not at least a bit quiet sounding? ]
He's not following orders anymore. [ That...she's pretty comfortable saying. ] I think...he's right before the last battles.

Recompletion, it's not that he's against it, or anything. It's just not going to happen while he's here, so why dwell on it? After a near decade under Xemnas' thumb, fairly certain that the end goal would never come, it's easy to slip back into cold acceptance. That's neither here nor there right now.]
"What has you so sure of that?"
[A genuine query. Wouldn't that be even more of a prime time for them to try a last ditch effort like this to win? Or was Xemnas that assured of his own victory?]
"Is that something he said?"
no subject
After a second she nods. ]
We discussed the last things we remembered before we came here. His was preparing to confront you and the others. I don't think he was really fully on Xenmas side then.
[ She drops her head down for a second before looking up at him. ]
I don't think a lot of them were on his side anymore. Some of them, they helped me get this body.
no subject
[Axel mutters. He's listening, but Saix hadn't been 'truly' on Xemnas' side once before. Axel stopped being able to notice a difference.]
"This body.." [He hadn't thought much on it, hadn't really considered what Naminé being here and present meant. Now that he's looking closer though, he sees it.]
"You're like Roxas." [No longer a Nobody. He remains the only one here without a heart then. Well, out of present company .]
no subject
[ It's a completely different world with different rules. Would it even be possible to reach Kingdom Hearts here?
Under his gaze she looks down, almost like she's feels bad in a way, though she's not sure why. Slowly she nods. ]
Yeah, I am. Thanks to a lot of people going out of their way for me.
no subject
"They must be pretty great people."
[He sighs. He never thought Naminé would be the one in Saix's corner.]
"Look I don't like thinking this way any more than you do but it's not just me who could get hurt if we get this wrong."
[Can't anyone see he's doing this because he is already compromised? He already failed to take Saix out when he had the advantage. He nods to indicate the crowd. Nearly everyone here has been an Organization target at one point or another. Someone has to be the skeptic!]
"If Saix is here on his own, I'm not about to start anything."
[He'll hardly be inconvenienced??]
"It's not like my opinion is gonna matter to him either way."
[It hasn't for a long time. No, the biggest loss Saix would see this as is just the loss of an informant. Nothing more, nothing less.]
no subject
She nods. ]
No, it's alright. I understand. It's not like I trusted you completely right away. I don't think anyone here has immediately been able to trust anyone else. [ Wait. She pauses as her gaze flickers to Sora, a soft chuckle coming out. ] Except maybe him.
[ He's always the first to trust everyone with all of himself, the first to offer forgiveness. ]
After everything we've all been through, it's good to be cautious. Maybe...you just need to talk to him more yourself. You were the one that was the closest to him once, maybe you'll see things the rest of us can't.
no subject
Axel can't help but puff a small laugh as his own gaze follows to fall on Sora.]
"True enough." [He can scoff all he likes but has Sora ever been wrong with anyone he trusted? Axel may have called this meeting but if anyone could truly take credit for this particular gathering being a gathering, Axel knows it's not himself.]
"Yeah." [He doesn't want to admit it outloud but something in the assassin knew that was always the plan. He knows he wouldn't be able to keep himself from watching Saix indefinitely. If six months had only made him think of the blue-haired Nobody more by the day, Axel hardly thinks his thoughts will stop with the other actually here.
That he had the group's consent on the matter, even if they implied a more social aspect to it, was just a bonus.]
"I'll get to the bottom of this."
no subject
And if you need any help with talking to, or after, I'll be here. [ Would he really want to talk to her after? She hardly knows. But it's worth offering. She pauses for a moment and shifts. ]
Is there...anything you want to know about things back home? I'm not sure what I should say or what I shouldn't.
no subject
"Nah, think I've hit my quota of stunning revelations for the day."
[Or month. Or year.]
"Just. The other me.." [It's probably silly to ask but.]
"Does he.. do I look happy?"
no subject
Yeah, very happy. The last time I saw you was when we were all on the beach and you were playing a game with some of the others. You were having a lot of fun.
