⚔️ i. surprise attack
[Do you look like a strong fighter? Is there a weapon visible on your person? Could you perhaps be carrying yourself in a way that an experienced swordsman would notice that you have skill and know your stuff?
If so, then you're about to feel a sudden spike of killing intent with a pair of swords coming right at you in the next moment. DODGE FAST.]

[Rokurou doesn't really understand the shellphones that much beyond that they are cool devices to communicate with. He also doesn't really understand the importance some may have on them, would that really matter?
Sensing something similar to malevolence and at the very least something with a strong intent to do harm, perhaps even kill, he's quick to act and try to get rid of the source...
...Unfortunately those instincts results in his sword coming out and slashing at the shellphone in whoever's hands. Sometimes it results in the complete destruction of the phone, sometimes it just knocks it out of the hand. Regardless, it makes the spirit inside not happy and the owner even unhappier.]
Hey, I was just trying to help!
[So sometimes he's either having to deal with an angry person, either completely possessed by the spirit or just pissed off because that was their shellphone?? And unlike before, he's not trying to really use his swords against them!! Unless they draw their own then all bets are off but until then!! Maybe some help?]

[Well.
This is unexpected.
Rokurou will just stare at the tether and the person he got tied with and give them a wry grin.]
...Is this normal around here?

⚔️ iv. fish in a barrel (corsair)
[His only experience with merfolk have been the ones in Nilatast, so he's currently under the impression they're dangerous. Even then, he doesn't exactly feel much interest in taking them out when they're weak and vulnerable as they are. However, a job's a job, and he can at least make their deaths quick.
But given the Paladins' involvement, he finds himself engaged more in fighting them off which he doesn't mind too much. In fact he'll just smirk as he takes down another one.]
Aw, that was too easy. Could at least make this a little more challenging.
[Should he try picking fights with the Paladins instead...?]

[Open to other quests and scenarios! Also interested in the Shoebill Billy bounty because he might try to fight it— Feel free to hit me up on his CR Meme, discord, or

i. because why not?
He flips sideways, cape billowing, sizeable gun in his hand before he lands, leveled at his attacker, crimson eyes glowing faintly in the shade of his hair.]

What do you want?
[The voice is coarse, as though it's either seldom used or like speaking is painful.]
no subject
Still in a stance, Rokurou just grins.]
Heh, sorry, but couldn't resist testing your reflexes. And looks like my guess is right.
[He doesn't really sound that sorry—]

Bit of Coloumn 1 and Column 3
Initially, he was just standing there and ignoring the other. Expecting them to go on a whole "What's going here!?" "What happened!?" and all the other generic confusions most bumbling fools like to do when caught in an unexpected situation.
Instead, the jets come on beneath his shoe as he sidesteps out of the way from a sudden swing of a blade. And again, he had to duck when they proceeded to follow up and swing with his other sword. He slides right beneath them, getting behind them. Their actions are with intention. Who the hell did he get tied up to?]
no subject
So he is completely oblivious to the tether that appears right before he decides to make his first move. Even though he couldn't see any visible weapons, he's certain the whatever-he-is will be able to produce an interesting result...
And he is not disappointed in the least.]
Hah, that's a new trick. Flying with your shoes?
no subject
Did they think it was his doing that they're currently tied together?]
What do you want?
no subject
[He grins. While he hasn't sheathed his swords, his stance is more relaxed—not completely letting down his guard, but not as tense as if he'll lunge at Shadow right away.]
Not sure what you are, but I can tell you're a strong fighter.

iv!
Sneaking in ended up surprisingly painless. No issues whatsoever. Eizen full well knows if one part goes this smoothly, then it means rough waters await ahead. Thoughts about potential trouble take a backseat as Eizen's gaze lands on a familiar figure a short distance away. That's--
Just as Rokurou utters that cursed phrase about challenges, another one attempts to strike him from behind. ...Only to be immediately eating an Earth Lance to the face.]
You might just get your wish now that I'm here.
[The Reaper's Curse can easily make challenges a reality.]
no subject
Eizen!? Wait, you're here, too?
no subject
[With months apparently having passed even though it was only weeks for him? Time stuff is wonky.
Coast seems pretty clear for the moment, so it'll hopefully give them a quick chance to chat before the Reaper's Curse causes something to liven things up again. Eizen makes his way over to Rokurou.]
Did you just get in recently?

Yeah, with that whole underwater city thing, so a couple of weeks ago.

From behind, Lightning doesn't recognize him right away, the last time she had seen him was down in the water and the time before that several months back, so she has no idea the kind of mess she's about to get herself into when she calls out just as he's taking out another mermaid.]
Hey! Think you've done enough around here, so why don't you pack up and go home.
[Or she'll shove her gun in his face.
Actually, you know what? No, she's already raising her gun at him.]
no subject
And if I don't?
[Hey Lightning.]
no subject
You again!?
[Her eyes move to the mermaid, narrowing, and then back to him.]
Why is it that wherever there's trouble, you're at the scene of the crime?
no subject
Honestly, I was hoping to find a few good fights. Been a bit disappointing—until you arrived.

Suddenly without warning, a blade flashing with seemingly murderous intent, bursts from the press of bodies. Steel rings as his raised shield catches the strike. The crowd gasps and recoils, spilling baskets of fruit and scattering in panic.
In this moment Jaune counters with a forceful push from his shield, shoving Rokurou into another merchant's stall. The marketplace, moments ago alive with trade and chatter, is now a circle of chaos—every eye fixed on the sudden, violent clash at its center.
He has no time to speak yet, instead waiting to see how his opponent will respond. ]
no subject
Heh, not bad.
[And he'll wait a moment as more people clear out before he suddenly lunges forward again, his blades completely focused on Jaune.]
no subject
[ Jaune's shield catches another blow, but the momentum swings him into a row of stacked pottery, with clay shattering in a deafening crash. A woman screams, a child darts for safety, and a tide of people surging away and shoving one another in their haste to escape. In the rush, a cart tips and spills cabbages all over ground. They're causing quite the scene!
Jaune takes the opportunity to kick a cabbage in Rokurou's direction, in hopes of distracting him. With the cabbage projectile heading straight at Rokurou, Jaune also unsheathes his broken (yet still sharp) blade and lunges at his attacker. Despite the collateral damage around them, Jaune's only goal is to subdue his attacker, but the pressure of possibly dying here is making him lash out more aggressively than he wants to.
The two men seem to be tearing the market apart with every movement, locked in a duel that neither the merchants nor the crowd has asked for. Shouts turn to curses, and as the fight drags on, there's no doubt the authorities will come down on them at any moment. ]

His senses might not be on point, but violent intent gives off a certain sense to someone like him who is an experienced fighter.
Hawks holds his neutral posture until the last moment, deflecting not with a drawn sword, but by using the butt of the handle, jumping backwards to put distance between them. Huh. A new face? ]
Quite the introduction you have there.
no subject
But using the hilt, eh? Says a lot right there and that just makes Rokurou grin.]
It can make a lasting impression.
[Not that he's really trying, but hey, it's kind of true—]
Looks like those swords aren't just for show.

Haven't been around long enough to answer that.
[Just going to lightly tug at the tether. It has a lot more give than he expected. No keyholes and the like, considering it seems to be some sort of magic.]
Doesn't look like there's an easy way to get rid of it, either.
no subject
Should we try cutting it with our swords? Also got one of those tattoo things so could try fire, too.
no subject
[As is fire. Even if he does have a more nuclear option in mind, it may be best to try something that erred on the side of caution first. He calls out his smaller blade, bringing the knife towards the tether that binds them. It doesn't give, no matter how much effort he puts in.
Verso dismisses the knife with a sigh and holds up his wrist, dragging Rokurou's along. Yep, not a dent. Then he moves it once more offering it towards the other man.]
