a » for your traveling needs
[At Cid's workshop in Nogard, things will be bustling as like usual he has it open so people can test things he posted on the MANTA board. Really, a lot of this is ready to go, but it never hurts to have people preview and see if there aren't any unknown kinks or issues.
And there IS one small, teeny tiny problem that he has yet to figure out on one particular model of the convertible furniture. It's a convertible cot that folds up and can transform into a desk or table, depending one's use, as well as double (triple?) as storage. The issue?
When certain weight is placed on it it suddenly closes in like a box.
Not so great when someone is trying to sleep on the cot and suddenly they find themselves enclosed! Fortunately not in any way that would cause significant harm, but a bit hard to get out regardless.
So. Who would like to be a test dummy for this, as well as find perhaps other similar odd issues in other other furniture models, the cooler, or camping gear? Never know with those pop up tents— Or someone could just have user error instead of the product's fault itself, or perhaps someone has a suggestion or request! Even if someone just wants to talk to Cid, it's all good here!]

b » blackmarkets
[A bit of a two birds with one stone combining the Corsairs in a Barrel and Bread Island, all dealing with rooting out certain people. Cid is actually more focused on the Bread Curse, so the mermaid stuff is more incidental, but he'll help out regardless.
Other possibilities is finding merchants selling the mushrooms and any other potential remedy ingredients. Could even have something completely unrelated found in the black market!]
- Oven suppliers. Cid has discovered with Benedikta that the bastards have been using his ovens and tech to create those self baking bread ovens. So he'll be particularly pissed and on the hunt finding other suppliers and sellers.
- Mermaid fins as a cure. Perhaps riffing off the bread curse, there are some sellers marketing the illegal mermaid fins and other parts as ingredients for the cure for the bread curse.
- Bread shipments. Possible to encounter those selling or trying to ship off the cursed bread.
Other possibilities is finding merchants selling the mushrooms and any other potential remedy ingredients. Could even have something completely unrelated found in the black market!]
c » nilatast
[When not dealing with dumb bread curses, Cid will take at least one trip or two down to Nilatast. He has a purifier "bomb" that he wants to try and use against the miasma down there, and it might be useful for those who are also affected by it. He also wants to help look into the tech because while it's more advanced than he's familiar with, it's still something that intrigues him greatly.]

Blackmarkets
This is the last time you'll ever sell...
(They pull away the cover from the merchandise being transported, only to discover ...ovens?
...
...
Was their source wrong? They'd been told there was illegal smuggling going on here, and it had sure looked like that was what was happening with the way these people had been so clandestine about everything, but these are ovens? What, is there some sort of evil baking thing going on?
...They haven't heard about the bread island quest.)
no subject
He arrives a beat too late to not have seen how Chris got there and instead thinks he is either part of the group or a prospective buyer. Either way, he just clicks his tongue. As much as he wants to just destroy them all right then and there, that wouldn't do in trying to get information out of them.]
Well, these look interesting.
[So he'll just pretend and be all smiles as he saunters up.]
Are these those "magical ovens" I've been hearing about?
no subject
Everyone turns to look at Cid with startlement, though Puppetmaster at least manages to look graceful about it. This is because of the suit hiding their face and making everything look graceful, and also turning their sqwak into a more appropriate shrieky hissing sound.
Wait. This guy thinks they're in on this?!?)
I'm not-I was tracking sellers of mermaid parts! (They aren't here to sell, or rob, or do whatever he thinks they're doing with ovens!
You've kind of caught them with their ass out, Cid, even if not in the way you think.)
no subject
"Well they not here, so get lost!"
At the moment it seems the weird masked guy is clueless, and this other guy who showed up seems like they could be potential client. All the while, Cid just watches with some contemplation. If this strange masked figure is on the hunt for the sellers, could he bring him on his side to help?]
Hmmm, is that so?
[He then leans in closer to Puppetmaster, his voice lowered as if to speak in confidence—but it's still loud enough for the smugglers to still hear it.]
But I heard they could be in the same business.
[Bullshit, but also not completely impossible, right? Regardless, it could make the oven smugglers loosen up about information that could benefit the Puppetmaster if they do anything.]
Nilatast ᓚᘏᗢ
Of course, it was reason Turo had created a more battle oriented pokémon inspired bot that could easily swim along as well; or hover in the dry areas. Still, better prepared.]
Was there a section you wanted to check first?
no subject
Not particularly. I did hear there was one area that already had some work done, so we could try there first.
[Choose an easier spot to get their bearings before trying to go somewhere harder.]
no subject
[It didn't hurt that Turo simply was carrying extra oxygen, given wearing a suit was something useful for him but the air wasn't anything he needed.
Still, there was a low hum in thought.]
We will be looking for a large terminal of sorts, I imagine. Not hard to spot, but easily to miss amongst any others.
no subject
[A grin as they continue forward.]
Good thing we're well armed.
no subject
Well armed, and with enough to help dispel any miasma we do come across.
[Hopefully.]

He finally catches up with his captain at the summit, which is just as well. While Lucian can fit many places in the Roost now, he won't stay that way and the lad needs to learn where he's allowed to roam.]
Cid. Do you have a moment?
[And yes that is a pony-sized wyvern behind him, bronze scales glittering in the light of the setting sun, eyes full of curiosity as he watches Dion and then this new person with an intelligent and innocent gaze.]
no subject
...
.....]
I do now.
[He shifts his stance and crosses his arms over his chest, amused.]
Somehow I should not be surprised you managed to find yourself a wyvern.
[Mr. Dragoon Prince.]
no subject
He is by far not the first wyvern I've trained. They are Greagor's chosen.
[And does Lucian's chest puff up slightly at the sentiment, even though the wyvern has no way of knowing what that means? Maybe a little. He seems to mirror Dion's own posture, actually.]
This is Lucian and he honors me with his trust. [Lucian lowers his head to Dion's shoulder, then, body language that confirms Dion's claim, and the prince places a hand on the side of the wyvern's head, his tone softer when he continues.] Mayhap it is time I retire my wings and borrow those of another.
[Lucian makes a whistling chirp at that, as though he agrees.]
no subject
It's an honor to meet you Lucian.
[Then a playful wink as he rises.]
I assume, then, you wish to have him reside at the Roost.
[Dion's words also do not go by unnoticed&mash;to retire his wings to use another. It does make him think of their earlier conversation, but he won't broach it just yet.]

I see you've been making steady progress, as ever.
[Always tinkering...!! Joshua picks up some random contraption on a desk and pokes at it.]
no subject
[Given how busy the past few weeks...months...have been. But there's a wry grin as he watches Joshua poke at things. It's not often he sees him, so it's a bit amusing and intriguing.]
Just be careful lest your finger might get caught.
no subject
[Joshua has always been a fan of both Cid and Midadol's work. It's amazing and fascinating! And with things being so busy for Joshua lately, he's happy to finally check in.
Checking in on... this little contraption that he has in his hands now. He's not entirely sure what it is but Joshua tilts his head to give it a better look.]
What is this one meant for?
[And he clicks something with his finger...]
no subject
[And before he can finish, the model will suddenly SNAP and snap onto Joshua's finger, what was once looked something like a half folded in desk now completely collapsing into something more box shape.
Or well it would if it wasn't clamping onto Joshua's finger instead.
Tightly.]

Black Markets.
So he heads to the black markets. Not because he needs to, but because he thinks it'll be fun.
Shadows boil up, and then steps out of them, looking around, equal amounts cautious and excited.]
Woah.
no subject
And likely drawing unwanted attention.
So he'll step up to him.]
Careful, lad. Keep that face and you'll be robbed before you know it.
no subject
I can handle myself.
[Nico looks up at the stranger, giving him a cool stare.]

traveling needs!
guinea pigfriend is here to observe. Clive had oftentimes come down to Cid's workshop to see if he was in need of any supplies to be gathered or things to be lifted... but this was getting a little out of hand. There were things everywhere that Clive could no longer tell what piece belonged to what item.So he'll cautiously stay at the door's entrance with his arms folded as he looks about. ]
Are you certain this place hasn't become a storage room instead?
no subject
guinea pigsfriends has arrived.]Is that an offer to help organize, I hear?
[A laugh as Cid just looks up from his desk at Clive staying out of this minefield.]
It's what happens when I have units on display and test out. People come in, move things around, never put it back.
no subject
But regardless of the mess he'll cautiously step inside, looking about the objects in question. Maybe it was disorganized, but Clive couldn't quite tell. ]
As long as you know where everything is, I see no harm in it. [ Especially if it were certain people touching it. ] But if it's a bit of tidying up you need, I have some time.
no subject
Actually, I could use those muscles of yours. Come with me.
[And with a rather troubling smile—troubling for Clive that is—Cid stands up from his chair and moves to guide Clive to the back. At least back here it's clearer since only authorized individuals can come back this far of the workshop.]
