[Lyney's smiling face can be seen on the screen, selfie-style as he records. Behind him is a grand-looking building, shiny and new on the streets of Eltrut. He's grinning wide as he talks, and while he's clearly in his 'showmanship' mode, the joy on his face is very genuine. ]

Bonjour, mes amis! I have some exciting news for you all! After many long weeks of planning, hard work, sweat and tears, I come to you all with a grand and wondrous announcement! My little pet project, the Théâtre des Merveilles, has officially opened today! A new locale for magic, wonder, and whimsical delight! And our first show is this very evening! Tickets will also be discounted for this week as well, so there's no need to feel put out by the cost! Come by, and witness the first of many extraordinary performances!

At the moment I don’t have any themed shows in the works, but I’m certainly open to the idea of doing so! And given the world we’re in, I think a pirate-themed magic show should go off without a hitch!

Ah, thank you, Erichthonios! I am indeed happy to finally be able to share the fruits of all this hard work with the good people of Eltrut! I do hope you're able to attend a show sometime. Of course, so long as things aren't too taxing on your end.

Entrance and Lobby

[The first thing people will need to do to enter the theatre is to stop by and purchase a ticket. Tickets can be bought from the ticket booth, where one of two twin catfolk will be offering tickets to those looking to buy one-- discounted for the week, as Lyney promised. Passing through the doors lead to the open lobby. Patrons are encouraged to mingle before the show, and may also purchase some light snacks and refreshments at a nearby bar, should they be interested in doing so.]

[ Lucanis was probably talked into this by someone. He's easily convinced - trying to find work in this place is getting tedious, and something like this provides a distraction. He's not the center of attention, which is fine by him. He lurks around the lobby, possibly with a drink in hand, though he only takes the occasional sip. ]

A magic demonstration of some kind? Seems very Orlesian. Same with the decor.

[Lyney has some time to mingle in the lobby before the show, and has spent the time flitting around, thanking patrons and wishing them to enjoy the show. Upon hearing the comment, he turns to the man with a pleasant smile.]

I've never heard the term "Orlesian" before, but I'm hoping that's a good thing!

[Fenris is here because he’s… well, he doesn’t really know why. He’s not really ever been to the theatre in a way where he’s actually watching, but he’s also not really interested in the magic show. Perhaps he’s trying to be more sociable?]

Maybe some public intrigue and gossip as well.

Lounge Area

[Should one explore the lobby long enough to find the staircase leading down to the lower level, they'll discover the lounge area where guests may enjoy a sit-down dining experience. The lounge is open both before and after the show, so there's no risk for those wanting to dine to miss out. Come in and take a seat, have some refreshments, and enjoy the atmosphere!]

[Wriothesley is doing what he does best - that is, somehow slinking in the shadows and being where people may not expect. He's heard plenty about Lyney and Lynette's shows, but attending was just a luxury he couldn't write off. Most Overworld forays always had some work-relation to them; that he has an opportunity now is pleasant. So there he is, able to be discovered before and after the show, blending into the lounge area more for the refreshments and seeing who else came to attend.]

[OOC: Option to meet him before the show or after, likely nursing some non-alcoholic beverage. Just make sure to note in the subject like which time preferred!]

[Given the number of people who'd come for the show its not much a surprise that seats are fairly limited, so sharing is more or less inevitable.

What's less inevitable though is the fact that the person seated on the other side of the lounge chair Wriothesley has elected to settle on turns out to be Alhaitham. Kaveh is... around, mingling as he always does with people, something that Alhaitham never has any interest in. So he's simply wiling his time away by reading the book he'd brought along with him... and also a serving of the poutine that's being sold here.

When it comes to most people Alhaitham wouldn't really bother with acknowledging their presence. But considering the help the other had given to them not long ago, Alhaitham does at least bother to give a small nod of acknowledgement when they make eye contact—the best thing he's got as a greeting before turning his attention right back to his book, earpieces firmly on his head. Though that's not to say that Wriothesley isn't free to make an attempt at conversation regardless.]

[It had taken some...convincing, for Kaveh to be allowed to show up, but he had managed to win that argument and come here. It's probably of no surprise he's wandered into the lounge to see what refreshments they have to offer and if they're alcoholic.

There's some dark circles under his eyes the lighting does a lot to hide, though not entirely. Truthfully, the theater might provide a welcome distraction from where his thoughts have been, even if he seems to be more subdued than normal. Getting out and around people he has no sense of responsibility towards might help.

Please ignore the looming shadow not far from him, it's fine, he's fine, everything's fine.]

[Unfortunately for Kaveh said looming shadow is not content to stay that way for very long, and soon enough it (or rather, he) comes over and approaches Kaveh—

—and holds up a serving of gravy laden fries right in his face.]

[You bargained your way here with the promise of these fries, so Kaveh must now parttake in them too.]

[Lyney appreciates Kaveh showing up for his grand opening week, he really does. And he wants to thank Kaveh properly for his support. But Lyney can also see how haggard and dim Kaveh looks, which is very unlike the usually bright architect. It's why, as Kaveh sits in the lounge, a new drink is placed in front of him.]

You sure look like you've seen some better days. I certainly hope the show wasn't that bad!

[Lyney says it with a smile and a playful tone, taking a seat near him and gesturing to the wolfman bartender, who begins making him his own drink.]

[ Even though Cloud really isn't much of a theatre person, he's here just to show support. That's the least he can do for people that are a part of the crew, right?

[Cloud may be waiting for Lyney to congratulate him, but Lyney ends up seeing him first; the hair is probably a dead giveaway honestly. But that’s fine; it gives Lyney a chance to place an order with the gruff wolfman bartender before making his way over to Cloud.]

[ As always, Lynette is a consummate professional throughout the performance. She and Lyney essentially operate as two halves of a whole, and for every grand gesture and dramatic lead-up he makes she is right there to quietly follow along in order to make the magic happen. Many fantastical things happen to and around her, all made possible through the twin magics of misdirection and sleight of hand.

It's physically taxing work, but for her it pales in comparison to what comes after: socializing with the audience. Usually she'll leave that to Lyney and go hide, but... well, it's opening night and their birthday besides. It means a lot to him that she mingle with their brand new fans tonight, so here she is.

She spends some of the post-show gathering sitting with a cup of tea and staring off into space. People are welcome to approach, but they may need to snap her out of recharge mode to get her to talk.

Alternatively, she does occasionally get up to actually mingle, approaching strangers or familiar faces with a small, somewhat rehearsed smile. ]

Ah, Miss Lynette.

[She found him in his little area away from people, but he's not surprised. Of the twins, she's the calmer, more observant of the two and could probably use a moment to get away as well. He certainly isn't envious about having to socialize after entertaining an audience like that.]

It was excellent, thank you for asking. I never had the chance to attend one before, but now I can report it lives up to the reviews I've read.

[If there's one thing Lyney appreciates, it's the support his introverted twin sister provides him. Whether that's as his assistant on stage, as support on missions for the House, or even now, taking time to actually mingle with the patrons of the theatre when he knows that she would rather go and hide in the green rooms or the built-in residential areas in the quieter wing of the theatre. So when he spots her in the lounge, he takes a brief stop at the bar to get her some refreshments before settling in beside her at her table.]

How are you holding up?

[And what has he brought for her? One of the ice cream floats that their new lounge is currently serving.]

[Hopefully Tifa's company is not one that is too taxing, but when she spot Lynette sitting down with a cup of tea, she does approach slowly and quietly, sneaking up on her but not quite sneaking as she comes up behind Lynette. She'll be nice and wait until she's finished with her sip before setting down a small wrapped on the table in front of her.]

Just wanted to stop by and say congrats to you and Lyney.

Main Theatre

[Eventually, it'll be time for curtain call, and patrons will be ushered to their seats. Whether sitting in the lower levels or higher up in the balcony seating, the view of the stage is exquisite. The interior is refined and elegant, yet still gives a more intimate feeling in relation to the stage.]

[And as guests settle in their seats and the lights dim, a spotlight shines, and before long Lyney is standing at centre stage. He bows, before addressing the theatre as a whole.]

Bonsoir, my dear friends! I must thank you all for coming to our grand opening week! Now, prepare to be amazed at what you're about to see before you!

[Lyney and Lynette will both be present for the performances, which vary from night to night during their opening week. But whether it's simple sleight of hand or elaborate water tank disappearances, the tricks are indeed the kind to astound and wow an audience.]

Now, for this next trick, I'll need a volunteer!

[Of course, what's a magic show without some audience participation? Perhaps you may be inspired to volunteer, or somehow picked without warning. But don't be shy! It's all part of the fun!]

OPEN come sit next to the Proud Boyfriend

[Heizou is the first person in the theater and very proudly takes a seat in front row center. And he is absolutely captivated by the performance, watching with rapt attention and a pleased smile across his face. Not the polite, easygoing mask that he usually wears when he's out and about in public spaces, either. It's much more genuine, partially hidden by the dark of the theater with all the spotlights focused on the stage. On Lyney.

Which is also exactly where Heizou's gaze is laser focused. No matter where the magic tricks should be leading his eyes, they're always quick to dart back to Lyney so that he doesn't miss a single thing. That's his talented boyfriend up there. And he is deeply enjoying getting to see the magician glow up on the stage, deep in his own element.

[Of course Tifa was going to be here to show her support. After the shows that he's put on at the bar, albeit much smaller than this one, she was proud to hear that he'd managed to find his own place to put on shows that deserved the space and the attention. She always thought he was charismatic and ought to perform for larger audiences, and even still, she is in complete awe of what she sees.

She's right near the front of the audience when he calls for a volunteer, and her hand shoots up in the air. It was about time he did!]

CLOSED to Neve

[Fenris had made his own plans to check out the theatre alone. Curiosity got the better of him.

Maybe Neve sees him at one point in the lobby, or outside in passing, but he gives nothing more than a glance as he passes by.

Once the lights go down, however, his seat is taken a row behind hers, a seat or two to one side or the other. It’s not hard to find people in the dark.]

I used to have to stand guard whenever Danarius wanted to go to the theatre. I wasn’t allowed to watch, but I cannot deny I would do so anyways.

[He’s sitting, eyes trained at what’s happening on the stage, but leaned forward in his seat to engage in the conversation rather than with the show itself.]

Most of the plays in Minrathous never made much sense to me, nor did the point of the magic shows like this. But I still enjoyed them.
