[Open] Frozen Time
Who: Wriothesley and [insert name here]!
Status: Open
Where: MANTA quest locations and Eltrut
What: Completing "A Skull Full of Ice", "Haunted Paws", and... standing outside on a normal day?
Warnings: No warnings yet, but will change if necessary!
[They weren’t kidding about the earthquakes. Wriothesley had been so caught up in catching up with the world - and then helping with some other affairs - that he’d forgotten about the call for help on Nogard. The bony beast was now shivering off the frost which didn’t bode well for any Corsair on its back and would likely effect traveling later if they didn't handle this now.]
[He would approach the damage first. Since others might have the advantage of casting actual fire magic, better he sets to giving people places to rest and recover, repairing and reinforcing structures, and lifting rubble to set it aside. Scraps could be dug out later that could be used. Anything else, maybe it could be turned into something usable later. Bracing against another shake, Wriothesley gets back to work.]
[More fires are needed.]
[No one ever mentioned how big it needed to be; just start as many fires as they could.]
[So, he could be found gathering up fuel - anything dry and not likely to give off toxic fumes - and setting wood around it. Just a nice, big bonfire that should burn for a decent amount of time. Would it be too big? Not like he’s attempting to go along the length of Nogard’s spine or anything; just covering this patch of land, trusting the heat should reach those bones and thaw them out.]
Hrm…
[Ignore his grumbles and continue on with him. Or, perhaps there’s a question regarding why he did?]
[A return to this old estate again, but at least it seems like everyone’s efforts have provided answers to finally clearing it out. Though the bottle is in his hand, he has to pause and raise a brow at the state of the… estate. Something feels wrong; or maybe that’s him? But something just feels different, like a restless energy.
Perhaps now might not be the time to turn into an animal. If anything with these shadows that… seem to have grown from last he saw them…]
... we should find that snail. As much as it doesn’t like guests, I can’t believe it would want to pass up on a feast like this.
[Maybe his companion has no idea what he’s talking about, and maybe they do. Either way, time to track down a snail before resulting to any animal shenanigans on their part.]
[Just another morning on Eltrut…]
[… feels weird for him to be thinking about it. Another morning; seeing sunlight.]
[He’s not sure if he likes it or hates it. Guess he has to decide, but later.]
[Another morning either off to do some shopping, head into work, or see about getting to Nogard today. But he is just standing there, staring up at the sky. Maybe he should be reminded to get a move on.]
[OOC: Any other sort of plans you would like with Wriothesley here? Feel free to hit me up on Discord (demidemonLove), send a DM, or even come over to his CR Plotting Post so we can discuss details.]

1. A Skull Full of Ice - Construction

2. A Skull Full of Ice - Bonfire

Haunted Paws
auntieseemed satisfied enough that Sherlock would just vanish for days on end again like last month as long as he has supervision. ]Perhaps it already has feasted but can feast no more. Or... can a snail get a stomachache?
no subject
sometimesthat can go out aloneoccasionally. Either way, they started this quest together so they might as well finish it the same.]Huh, good question. Then again, what's the nutritional value of a shadow monster for a snail?
[Chuckling, he shakes his head after a moment.]
Let's double check the perimeter and then go in this time. I want to see where these animal graves are from the reports.
bonfires
Some friends they are.
Faris has a pack full of sticks, twigs, and tinder on his back as he picks his way towards Nogard's skull. The icicles dripping from above, making hazardous slippery patches on the ground and incidentally the danger of getting speared, make it tricky to navigate. That would be no good, not before sorting this out.
But at least he's not the only one trying to fix this. He gives Wriothesly a glance at the grumbles.]
Seeing some difficulties?

[Both methods have their merits, but also disadvantages. Multiple small fires for more area, but less burn time and more fuel dividends? Larger fires for longer burn times, but less area and still the issue of fuel... still, the amount of heat...]
... How are the other fires going?
construction
Looks like you could use a bit of help. If you need some of that debris carted off, I can take it for you.
[There will be a kweh as the chocobo pulling the modified wagon ruffles its wings as if in agreement. Said wagon has some of the strange modifications, with what looks to be a strange bone rigging around. As it stops, Cid will pull a lever and sharpened bone will drop down from beneath the wagon, digging into the ground, securing it.]
no subject
If you could...?
[Okay, he has to pause and double take after that 'kweh' because what was that? Standing up straight, he has to look past Cid because giant bird pulling a cart. And then the wagon - he was supposed to be working, but give him a moment to look that over.]
Huh, not bad... How deep do you have the stake go to keep it secured?
no subject
[If Wriothesley were to look on the inside of the wheels where the axels are, he'll see the "spines" that are also in the ground.]
I also have it so that the entire structure can still move so that it doesn't break during a tremor. Of course this was a bit of a quick work and more testing is needed, but no better way than out on the field.
[Another kweh from the chocobo, again as if in agreement.]
no subject
I could help you figure that out. Unless you want to handle it yourself.
[Balance would be different on a wagon, but maybe they could change that design too - make it more capable of crossing even harder terrains. There's that 'kweh' again and he has to... look at the giant bird. ... Can he pet it?]
A Normal Day
[He isn't sure if the man is also from a place without sunlight, but the behavior is familiar enough.]
no subject
[Oh... he was standing around.]
It's not that I'm not used to it. I'm just used to have a few hours to maybe a couple days before going back underground.
bonfires
And then he shouts out, unceremoniously:] Yo! What's keepin' ya from workin'? You need more stuff to burn?
[He shifts the logs, twigs, and whatever else he has scavenged propped on his shoulders and tucked under his other arm.]
Got loads more where that came from.
