you're not sure, you open the door, and step out into the dark
Who: Flynn and you
Status: Open
Where: Everywhere and anywhere
What: Flynn adjusts to his new life
Warnings: n/a; will adjust as necessary
A - Late Night Walking
[It's late. Probably later than it needs to be, but it's not like Flynn's paying that much attention. He's patrolling, his usual last activity of the night before there's some semblance of sleep. Not that he sleeps much. Last one to bed and first one up, modelling the behaviours of a good Knight and Captain. Not that he's in charge here.
It's a weird feeling, going from the top to essentially the bottom.
Not that he's trying to think about stuff like that. He's instead trying to learn the town. Elah at least. Getting an idea of where things are from the Paladin Headquarters. He knows he's got a lot to learn.
Certainly none of this has to do with anxiety or anything. Not at all.]
B - Lonely Lighthouse
[The Village is empty.
It's never a good feeling. It's quiet. Too quiet, some might say.
But Flynn can't come up with an explanation as to what happened. Magic stuff like this doesn't come easily, and he doesn't have Rita or Witcher here to tell him the basics. Instead, he's got pulsing seaweed and just himself to rely on. And maybe a pocketful of snacks for any dogs he comes across.
He stares at the docks, the seaweed, the water. Usually you're supposed to follow the tracks.]
Where do I even start?
C - Wildcard

Which is what brings her to the streets of Elah, jotting down notes in a notebook as she wanders. Which means she's not quite paying attention and might just bump into poor Flynn if he's also not paying attention. Either way, she drops her notebook to the ground. ]
Oh, merde! [ She does her best to try to catch it but it just tumbles down to the street, landing open on notes on the current MANTA requests. ]

There's probably more to that thought but he is brought back to reality.]
Oh, I'm so sorry! Let me get that for you.
[He'll reach for the notebook.]
I should have been paying more attention. It's not like me to let my mind wander like that.

And so, it is fresh footprints the man in the armored trench coat follows to the docks alongside the mysterious shuffling prints left by those who seem to have gone to the water.
Flynn's words before he speaks echo a sentiment Thancred has known far too many times before.]
Small, I would suggest. Up for a mystery?
no subject
That would probably be the best place, yes.
But that is why I'm here. And you as well, I assume?
no subject
[Well, in all honest, one could, but not Thancred. He's also loathe to avoid a mystery, but the atmosphere here, what clues he's been able to glean simply on his trip here from the lighthouse? There is something quite troubling afoot and these people are likely in very real danger.
He does raise his hand in greeting, though, before launching into an inquisition. It's time for an introduction.]
Thancred Waters. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance.
no subject
[Yes, he is very relieved to hear that. And to know that he's not the only one who couldn't leave this matter alone.]
So, I guess we should get started? I was thinking of examining the seaweed to start.
