It’s been several weeks since The Hideaway has come together as a ship crew now. And with their new ship that was so kindly commandeered by their fearless leader and crewmates, it is high time that they all come together for a nice night around the campfire installed on the ship’s deck. The Enterprise II sits docked in Eltrut, floating serenely and overlooking the docks with a steady grandeur.
On deck, the crew and any friends invited will be welcome to huddle around the fire to keep warm during the lightly snowy night. Enjoy hot beverages (or cold beers and wines) and chat about plans and adventures to come.
Just be wary that there are still little mishchevious minis floating around at times, whispering secrets into the ears of the unsuspecting.

It's strange. And very different from the planet I'm from.

Would you care to share what yours is like?
[He's very interested to learn about other worlds...]

[Nanaki hums, settling down so that he is resting Sphinx-style beside Joshua.]
My world is very vast, and made up of many places. Would you like to hear them all, or just the Canyon I call home?

Tell me about your home, I've discovered that one can glean significant insights about an individual through the way they discuss their home. I would be happy to hear about it.
[He wants to learn more if Red is happy to share. A friendly chat.]

[Nanaki's tail swishes, and he looks into the fires as a soft expression forms on his face.]
My home is a place known as Cosmo Canyon, though it's also known as the Valley of the Fallen Star. Members of my kind have guarded the valley for generations, and many come to it to study planetology, or the relationship between life and the planet. The canyon itself is a rocky plateau with many settlements built within its caves; you have to either climb ladders or stairs to reach each level. There is also the Cosmo Candle, which is the guardian flame that never goes out. The people who live there live in peace, both with each other and the planet. It's comforting there, and a lot less noisy because there is very little machinery used; the entire canyon is powered by renewable energy harvested by the wind turbines. I can actually see the stars when I look up in the sky.
[Even though his friends all live in and around big cities, and he likes his friends very dearly, it was hard to consider Midgar or the other cities as home when the Canyon met so many needs of his body and soul.]
And at the top of the plateau is my grandfather's observatory--
[He pauses, ears flicking as his brow knits for a moment.]
Well, the canyon's observatory. My grandfather... isn't around to oversee it anymore.

[He gives a solemn nod. Losing grandparents is unfortunately part of living.]
I'm sorry for your loss. Have you spent much time in this observatory yourself?
no subject
[But when Joshua asks his question, he hesitates before shaking his head.]
No, I haven't. I've been spending much of my time in the conservatory instead.
[He doesn't say it, but though he's been aware of the observatory, he's... hesitated on going. Perhaps because it makes him think of home too much.]

[He will not press for it must be a private memory for Red. He can tell he had much love for his grandfather.]
There is a tradition I read about in a book once. When a cherished family member passes they write the name on a rock and toss the rock with a wish for them into a body of water. That way the wish is carried on the waves to them in the afterlife. It's a ... fond tradition.
[Should Red wish to try it someday...]

I think... I would like to try. Though, I can't write...
[It's hard to hold tools with paws.]

If I may?
[They can go to shore and pick out a rock.]
wrap?
If you would... I'd be happy to.
