1. settling in / nogard
a. [ Well... Sumina can't help but find a bit of humor in being conscripted into the Corsairs in spite of her personality and nurtured allergy, and when she finds their base to be situated upon something that looks awfully dragonlike, she simply has to accept that the powers that be seem to want her to lean into her heritage a little more.
Regardless, she spends much of her time after the excitement of her arrival and the ensuing shenanigans wandering about Fang and geting settled into her new housing, getting acquainted with her surroundings, and visiting local businesess. She can be found simply walking along the streets, looking rather out of place with due to her demeanor and the notably un-piratelike clothing she still wears from where she last was. It might well make her a target for others with ill-intent, but perhaps not if someone were to accompany her... Regardless, she pauses in her steps, her (half) elven ear twitching ever so slightly at its tip as she glances over her shoulder. ]
Hello? Do you have business with me?
b. [ She would be remiss not to peek into The Naughty Gorgon, where she yet again sticks out like a sore thumb, yet somehow seems utterly unfazed by the fact that she's utterly surrounded by the chaos of an ensuing all-tavern brawl. Deftly ducking under a wooden tankard that's gone sailing through the sky, she gestures at an empty seat... perhaps one next to a fellow riftfarer. (You!?) ]
Pardon me - is this seat taken?
[ What is someone so polite and proper doing in Nogard... ]
2. good impressions / atnam / quest: life in colour
[ She's no detective by any means, but... This, at least, seems like a quest she can take, unlike many of the more... violent or thrilling ones. She's rather observant, and perhaps that will be useful in this investigation. That, and she's curious about the painting scene here...
Entering the painter's home with another who's taken the quest, however, makes her realize this is going to be thrilling in its very own way. She's not sure what she expected to find here, but there's something unsettling about the chaotic scene before her.
Shortly, she'll find her interest piqued by a painting not too unlike this one, her eyes widened in wonder, unaware as to what awaits her and whoever comes to look at the painting with her. ]
What a lovely painting...
3. respect the brussel / atnam / quest: every day i'm brusselin'
[ Food-related quest. Or at least, produce-related quest. This she can definitely do!
...Though maybe not, because... She's standing in the middle of this strange little farm, holding a vial of the supposedly magical growing potion, staring at the column of brussel sprouts waiting to be picked and tried. ]
Did... Did you happen to catch what the farmers said? Something about little green men popping out?
3. maiday / naughtilust / quest: maid day mayday
[ Okay. Well. She's no stranger to the ole "suddenly put into an outfit not of your own choosing" gambit by now, at least, otherwise this would be considerably more upsetting. As it is, Sumina's maid ensemble isn't too drastically different from what she typically wears as an innkeeper, but still... It's the principle of it all.
She doesn't appear to be very interested in the, uh, festivities, and is very much trying to look Respectfully whenever she makes eye contact with anyone, and trying to ignore the absurdly high slit on her skirt as best as she can. What she cannot ignore, however, are patrons trying to get handsy with the service workers. As a service worker, herself, she won't sit idly by! Needing a bit of confirmation, she leans over to someone nearby and clears her throat. ]
Sorry to bother you, but... does it seem to you like that guest over there is staring the staff a little too much?
[ She tries to gesture at the troublemaker as subtly as she can. ]
4. spill the seaweed / eltrut / quest: sipping on seaweed
[ Another food-related quest! Yes!
...Only, no. This one's a strange quest, too. Why seaweed, of all things? Into tea? Wouldn't it be better used as a base for some sort of soup...? She's no chef, but she's learned she's what would be considered a "foodie," and trying to make seaweed tea is ridiculous.
Though she has to at least try. Taking a sip of the tea without any fruit additives to accompany it: ]
Oh, that's... [ her features pinch tight as she frowns. ] No, about as awful as I'd thought. What fruit could complement this...

3, crawls in here brusselin'
You've heard them correctly. Apparently the vegetable itself is perfectly normal and delicious, but the prospect of tiny green men as a side effect is enough to make anyone second guess.
1/?? idk

done!
...And in the event that she doesn't remember, she doesn't know if she can navigate the awkwardness like she was able to with Gale. She doesn't... want to, again. Does that mean it would be better if she simply pretended she's never met this woman before? That she didn't come to respect and care for her in her own way...?
...Anyhow. Sorry about that whole-ass face journey she had in front of a stranger. ]
...I suppose there's only one way to find out, isn't there... miss?
no subject
... No. It's probably nothing. She dismisses the notion just as quickly as it appeared. It helps that the other woman's dangling sentence allows her to introduce herself.]
Amelia. Amelia Steinbeck.
You don't have to call me Miss Steinbeck unless you plan on being under my tutelage. As it stands, we are both learners in this new environment.
[She points at the vial Sumina is holding.]
And as you've said, there's only one way to find out.
no subject
But there's a certain, distant look on Sumina's face as the other woman introduces herself, one that almost spells "I know. I know you're Amelia Steinbeck," a knowing smile as she insists on omitting the "miss." Sumina nods, humming to herself. When they'd first met at the hotel, she would have insisted on calling her "Miss Amelia" at the very least, but as it stands... Perhaps she'll be forgiven by the powers that be for being marginally less courteous than she had been when she first met a different... version? Of the same witch. ]
Amelia, then. [ a firm nod. ] I'll be very... mm, conservative in my application, I think...
[ And with that, she uncorks the vial, curiously giving it a brief sniff before she lets a few drops of the potion pour out and onto the topsoil. What if we roll a D100 for how many little green men pop up— ]
no subject
With a roll of 91... Sumina's application of the potion is effective almost immediately. Amelia kneels down to peer at the blooming sprout and it looks normal at first until the leaves grow bigger and in between each leaf...]
Oh! Well, that answers our questions.
[Little green men, the size of their thumbs are climbing out looking rather mischievous.]
no subject
M-Miss Amelia— [ ah, old habits are hard to break after all, ] Mind your feet!
no subject
But then, the witch very calmly and very vindictively...
Starts to scoop up some dirt and then proceed to cover up the green men until only their head sticks out and despite all the protesting she presses down the dirt aggressively.]
What use are these if they're just going to be a bother?
no subject
Ahaha... I do wonder if it might be particular to this farm? It would be worth testing this potion on, say, a potted plant elsewhere, I think...
[ She kneels down, too, unable to keep herself from curiously patting one buried little green man's head with the tip of her finger. ]
Really, so strange. This feels like the sort of thing that would happen in the Feywild, where I'm from.
no subject
[The little green man whose head was patted wrinkles its nose at Sumina and sticks out its tongue.
Amelia packs in more dirt around him.]
So far, this world and other worlds from the sound of it sound much more openly magical than mine. I'd like to hear about this Feywild later when we're not so busy... Ah.
I don't think I've caught your name?
[Also don't mind her, she'll just be gently shoving mounds of dirt over other green men who are quickly finding out not to mess with this redhead.]
no subject
S…Sumina. Sumina Heartleaf! But please, just Sumina is fine. Or… [ It’s Amelia, so… ] Mina would be all right, too.
[ It’s not until then that she notices Amelia burying the little green men alive… ]
Well… Once all of this fuss has died down and we complete our tasks, I would love to get to know you some more!
