He's felt welcome, which they don't have to do, but Toge appreciates it. He smiles when Bakugo says he's not busy. "Tuna mayo." Great, that's just great.

Can you help me a little bit? I want to make Shoto some cold soba but I think I need help making and cutting the pasta.I can't ask him to help, it's a surprise.

Toge's determined to get back into cooking, it's just that he needs a bit of help.

Oh? Cooking he can do. And it doesn't take a genius to figure out why he needs help with that part.

"Yeah. I can do that. There's aprons in the pantry if you wanna grab those." He can start setting out everything they'll need. Asking over his shoulder; "Special occasion or...?"

Toge looks relieved and he smiles, bowing slightly before moving to grab them, as asked. "Fish flakes." He calls over his shoulder. It's not a special occasion.

He comes back out to offer one to Bakugo, and as for him, he tosses it onto the counter so he can make something of a slip knot that he'll cinch when he has his on.

Cooking is my favourite thing to do and I'm determined that this isn't going to stop me. So...while I have to figure out how to do it alone again, I'd like to at least make something.

Since 'Salmon' is 'yes', he's going to assume 'fish flakes' is 'no'. He goes about setting things out while Toge grabs the aprons, taking his to put on. He watches Toge get his own ready. He won't offer to help. Sometimes it's important to be able to do things on your own. And if Toge needs it, Katsuki figures he'll ask. Like he is with the noodles.

"As long as you know what you're doing, you can cook with me on nights I make dinner." If Toge wants to just make it a joint effort thing while he works out how to manage certain things on his own. "Otherwise I'll kick you out."

Toge is being creative with what he can manage with the apron and it works. Once it’s looped up over his head, he just has to pull the slip knot and it stays on. A handy little trick that.

“Salmon.” Toge smiles, he does in fact know what he’s doing, but while he can help prep the dough for the noodles and make the sauce, probably even cook it, rolling and cutting noodles are a bit beyond him. He wants to give it a try anyway;

I can make all kinds of things, but I know Shoto likes cold soba the best.

He passes Toge the things he'll need for the sauce. He knows which part is the biggest struggle here and he'll handle that. So he'll work on the dough he'll be rolling and cutting.

"The more you do it the more you'll learn how to make things work for you. I usually do alternate nights." Because Rody can also cook well enough to pass Katsuki's ridiculous standards. Anyway the offer is there. Come cook with him, Toge. He'll handle the things the other boy can't.

Yeah, I probably just have to get used to it.

He’s doing okay with what he’s got though, he can measure things and he can stir. It’s a little awkward, but he can do it. Toge’s a bit heartened by this, he’s been worried that he wouldn’t be able to do much with cooking again.

The offer makes him smile and he nods. “Salmon.” He would like that, and it would be easier than asking people to help him every time he wants to make something.

Katsuki is content to fall silent while they cook, outside of whatever exchanges may be needed for the work. Toge being able to keep up with him in the kitchen is just another mark in Toge's favor.

It's when he's rolling the dough that he speaks again.

"What kinda food do you like?"

Fortunately, unsurprisingly, Toge isn't that chatty when he's not being engaged in conversation, but he's quite used to it and the quiet is nice and comfortable. Unlike with Shoto who he, admittedly, has to keep half an eye on in the kitchen, he's not worried about that with Bakugo.

The sound of him stirring ingredients together stops briefly so it can be interrupted with the sound of his shellphone, but before the words even complete, he's already back to stirring.

Rice balls are my favourite, but I like ham and cheese buns in the morning usually with hot sauce. Beyond that I'm not very picky. I was making a lot of baked goods because people seem to like it, but at home I make a lot of balanced stuff because everyone around me eats nothing but junk food, and I think they might all die of lack of vegetables if I didn't.
