[Aerith's lending a hand - in the kitchen with Tifa, trying not to be too underfoot. In the bar itself, cleaning up as she goes and helping take orders. Maybe decorating a little (only with Tifa's approval!!!), little vases of flowers on the tables to bring a little sunshine inside.
Mostly, she's getting distracted chatting with everyone who comes in.
Aerith also has a little notepad in her pocket, and a handy dandy pen. What is she jotting down, you ask? Everyone's birthdays. Crew or not. Anyone she sees, she greets with a smile and immediately the notepad is whipped out, pen at the ready.]
So, when's your birthday? [If no answer is forthcoming, she will sigh and shake her head. ] If you don't tell me, I'm just gonna make one up, you know.
[They missed Cloud's and she's determined not to miss anyone else's. Birthdays are a Big Deal, at least to her. Thereās no way to know just how many are left, so she wants to ensure others have some recognition on their day, like it or not. ]
š One (1) Year, What a Couple of Months Itās Been?
[Though Aerith herself hasnāt been here for a year straight, she knows that sheās been present in some form. Her memories of that time are completely wiped, an odd feeling, but if thereās a celebration to be had she is gonna be in it.
Aerith can be found at times, frowning down at a board game or deck of cards, before her head snaps up and sheās waving someone over to her.]
Hey, come here! I think this is a two person or more sorta thing, right? Do you know this game?
[āCause she doesnāt, not really, and sheāll probably make up a few rules as she plays. No cheating allowed!]
š Itās an Un-Birthday Time!
[The party hat has been placed, and things are in full swing.
They canāt go all out like they probably should - itās enough to get Zack to don the hat they managed to find somewhere - so Aerithās happy to socialize.
Thereās a glass of Spirit Burst in her hand, and yeah sheās refilling it. Tifaās drink making skills are off the charts, in her opinion, so as the night goes on sheās feeling pretty good.
Soon enough, sheās looping her arm through someone elseās, friend or stranger, and leaning in to say very happily - ]
Hey, Iām glad you came! Have you tried these? [She holds up an empty glass, oh wait. ] Oops, never mind, come with me to get something!
[She will only mildly contribute to the delequincy of minors if needed. Safety first, kids. :|]
šWildcard!
[You can just run into Aerith anywhere on the ship, at any point! Sheāll be in her garden as well, located in a greenhouse on the deck of the ship, if anyone wants to stop by to be roped into helping OR just keep her company. Happy to start off anything in particular hit me in PM or violentwords]
[ See G'raha has been sneaking in and out of the ship at times that Zack is not around. The reason for that being that he had... A request from miss Tifa. The results of which are plain - his face has smears of frosting here and there. His hair and ears are dusted with flour at the ends.
Why is it so hard to bake a good cake? G'raha feels as though he is never going to get it quite right.
He is in the process of cleaning himself up when Aerith asks her question. Ears perk up as G'raha considers the answer to her question. ]
My nameday? 'Tis the seventeenth sun of the sixth umbral moon.
[ That doesn't mean anything to anyone, now does it? It's Dec 17th ]
[She begins to jot it down without really absorbing what he's saying before she stops, brow furrowed.]
That's...hm. [She finishes writing it down regardless, even if she can't parse when that will be.] You guys have a different calendar than we do. Didn't even think about that.
[Glancing back up at him, she takes in his state - frosting on his face and flour on his ears. She has to smile.]
[ His tail gently whips about behind him. He finds amusement in her discovery that calendars might not fully translate or align. G'raha wonders how this might be translated without his assistance.
As of this moment, there is only one that WOULD know. And it's not something he has to worry or fuss over for another several moons besides. ]
You did not think that I would make it easy for someone to plot against me in such a way, hmm?
[ He smiles, but also is finding a seat for a spell. Aerith's attention to his state has him sighing. Ears flattening somewhat against his skull. ]
Why is it so difficult to make something so simple? One moment I get the consistency right but the taste is off. Then on my next attempt, it seems to work in reverse.
[ Yeah of course it's not a stranger that Aerith is grabbing onto. Cloud has been mindful of how much everyone is consuming and enjoying themselves. Granted, he trusts that most will be responsible - and even if they aren't then Tifa will make sure of that. Or Cloud will if he is behind the bar.
Cloud almost manages to get the glass from Aerith. Almost. ]
I test all the drinks, you know.
[ Because he and Tifa work together on the menu! ]
[ Seeing as how they're both doing the same thing, they're bound to run into each other eventually. When Aerith asks the question first, Nimona is freezing up for just a brief moment that most people wouldn't catch it. ]
Oh, me? I can't remember my birthday. Don't think I've ever celebrated it, either.
[Her heart breaks, just a bit, that this girl canāt remember her birthday. Never celebrated it. Nimona is just so full of life she canāt imagine not celebrating her.]
I say that sounds perfect. [And adorable, but sheāll keep that to herself. She jots down August 16th next to her name.] I hate we missed Cloudās anyway, weāll have to do something special for you two the next holiday.
[Cloudās gonna hate it. The thought has her giving Nimona a little grin.]
Donāt tell him, though, heāll try to be ābusyā that day I bet.
[ It's a tragic story, but Nimona knows that she isn't the only one who has one. Since the crew is like a little family, she has been trying to share more. ]
Really? [ Will Cloud say the same thing? Nimona stands on her toes to look at the paper and what Aerith is writing down. ] There are a few holidays coming up. Some sort of fall thing - celebrating the harvest and all. Then a winter holiday. Cloud got me a present for that one.
[ Nimona looks thoughtful at keeping it from Cloud. She normally loves little tricks. ]
Bet I could get him to come if I promised to take most of the attention.
[ There was an arm looping through his, and the redhead let out a curious, surprised chirp of a sound that bubbled in his throat. He raised his arms a bit and craned his neck to check what was happening, as it took the redhead a moment or two to process what was going on. ]
Don't mind if I--
..do.
[ His expression went from svelte and cheerful to a mournful frown as he held the empty glass in his hand and sighed, then looked over at Aerith. He set the empty glass down on one of the servers passing by with a tray in hand. ]
Oh now you're in trouble!
[ A vulpine grin came creeping back. Reno, likewise, had a nice, comfortable buzz going, and unlaced his arm so he could instead hook it around her neck and pull her down a bit, just to (gently) bully her. He wouldn't actually ruffle her hair and mess it up, but he did act like he was about to. He would, instead, let her go after a few moments if she squirmed around. ]
[She lets out a yelp as he gets her in the worldās mildest headlock, and she smacks a hand on his arm to let him know okay okay she gives.]
Fine! [Sheās laughing, wiggling her way out of the hold before sheās pointing to the bar, like a sailor toward his goal.] To the bar! Tell what me what weāre drinking and Iāll pour it.
[ Such a lively party!! Sumina honestly can't help but get swept into the festivities, herself, though she's somewhat of an outsider when it comes to this crowd... She does recognize Aerith from their time together in the Abyss, at least, so it's with a bright smile that Sumina responds to the other woman: ]
Miss Aerith! No, I can't say that I have—
[ Oh. That's an empty glass. Sumina's, for her own part, is about half-empty. ]
Ah. Let me... hmm... [ Should she?? ] Finish this first, perhaps...?
[ Sumina does have to squint, at that, because she's not sure she remembers a Blasty Something. But she remembers which drink she got, certainly: ]
Ah, this one is the Spirit Burst. It's quite refreshing! Maybe I'll try the, ah... Blasty... Something... next.
[ A beat. ]
I really shouldn't be so reckless with drinking, but...
[ But life's been crazy lately, and she feels safe around the good folks of Seventh Heaven, so. After just another moment of contemplation, she does put her lips to the straw of her drink and just finishes off what remains of it. ]

[With some downtime at the partyāthis crew and their friends have been keeping her busy!āthere is finally a moment for Tifa to relax. And by relaxing, she does not mean sitting down and chit-chatting or nursing a drink. No, it means finding Aerith and dragging her away when there is a lull in her conversations, her hand wrapped tight around her friend's and pulling her through all the people with purpose.
She might have an idea of what this is about, but any questions she has will be answered the moment that they're behind the bar, and there are bottles and mixers, garnishes and glasses set up.]
Hope you've been studying up, because today's your first quiz.
[Not really. She just wanted to spend her quiet time with Aerith, and what better way to do that than to make good on that promise to teach her how to mix their most popular drinks!?]
[Aerith's happy to follow along as her friend tugs her behind the bar, eyeing the bottles and various items she thinks she knows the purpose of?
Labels exist for a reason.]
Yes, definitely been studying. [Said with a very deliberate nod. Maybe she's been chatting more than studying, but again! Labels! Helpful.] Go on, give me a drink let's see what I can do!
[His question has her looking down at the game as well, then shrugging. ]
Who knows. Could be this was part of some other bar before it made its way here. So maybe this version is...beers and bottles?
[But these are beer bottles, not separate things. Which she realizes, biting her lip before amending - ]
Hmm, maybe not. Anyway, we can just kinda make up our own thing! If you show me how to play Snakes and Ladders, we can just kind incorporate this into it.
[One of the people also scurrying about fetching supplies for the kitchen, hanging up strings of lights, and--right now, gathering together delivery boxes--was this black haired young woman, marked extensively with crystalline roselike clusters all over her body.
Miriam looks over at the question, and answers straight away before setting down the stack of packages she was carrying.]
Goodness, that's a popular question today.
[By that meaning it happened twice, but in just as many hours.]
I'm unsure, actually. I was brought to the Guild on the eighth of February, though.
Definitely the hot topic for the day. Zackās is coming up soon and it made us all realize we missed one pretty recently. We canāt have people missing their birthdays!
[She sounds pretty adamant about it. Maybe itās not a big deal, and she knows Cloud did not care one bit about his birthday passing with no fanfare, but celebrating each other is just such a fun thing to do. Who doesnāt like to be shown that people are happy youāre here with them?
Yeah, sheās a little stuck on it.
She jots down February seventh before giving her companion a wide smile, tapping the end of her pen to her own chest.]
[It still seemed a bit strange, birthdays having so much weight to them. They ought to, she knew, but Miriam had always been busy with training, focused on a mission, or had so much on her mind one year slipped to the next, and the next.
In this world there were large gulfs of time where she...didn't have to worry about such things. She could relax. It was an odd, unfamiliar thing.
But not unwelcome.]
Oh, is it? I'm glad to be in good company then.
[The black haired woman sets the packages on the nearest empty table, sorting the takeout boxes into delivery baskets for Nimona or another courier to ferry away.]
