What: The people of Teyvat get together for a barbeque... with some ostentatious paperwork on the side.

Though they may be on another world, all the people who hail from Teyvat are no stranger to what the Fatui represent, and what their presence might mean here. But things are never so black and white, and while tensions had been divisive between certain people for a while in the wake of Lyney and Fremniet's confession about their true allegiances following the arrival of The Knave, today is the day to put that animosity to rest—temporarily, that is, for as long as they are all stuck in this place none of them were prepared for.

After some discussion between Alhaitham and Kaveh it was best agreed to do this whole business here, since they have the best space for it and it is, in Kaveh's words, a show of their own generosity. Alhaitham doesn't fully agree with that idea, but there is also no denying that their own place will be best in terms of privacy. In the end, its not as if anyone here desires to disclose everything about their home world to the greater public that exists here.

The details of this arrangement have been sent to Lyney via Kaveh, while Alhaitham contacts Dehya to fill her in on the details; a get-together, or the closest they well get to one, with all the people from Teyvat present, where Alhaitham (representing Sumeru) and the Knave (representing the Fatui) will sign a contract that stipulates a truce between them. Of course, the document itself has no real power given where they are (not that it would matter either way, since the Geo Archon has already passed), but it is the gesture of doing this that will bind this agreement.

The day itself arrives with little fanfare, and as each person arrives they'll see that... not much has been done to the house, really. It's tidied up from Alhaitham's usual clutter, but there are still many interesting objects about such as a turtle ottoman, a pink and pastel green jellyfish stool, a somewhat tasteful(?) banana chair, a carving that looks like a very misshapen Aranara and of course, the ever present fish statue next to its cousin and... offspring(?). Their cat Shadowlily can be found lurking about the house and is pretty open to all visitors, cat and human alike. The doors to both bedrooms as well as the study are ostensibly locked, for reasons that will not be explained but everyone will know without saying anything.

Out in the yard is where the actual barbequing is held, with a set of portable tables and chairs set up in the yard for people to eat outside if they wish to do so. If one looks close enough there is a single garden gnome that looks like it has seen better days at this point, though placed in the corner as a poor attempt to hide it. The garden itself is blossoming with somewhat larger than normal flora and fauna, many of which are recognizable to be from Sumeru, such as harra fruit and zaytun peaches. One of the plots also happens to be full of catnip, which Shadowlily is all too happy and willing to enjoy herself in, be it by herself or with a companion.

All in all, things are fairly relaxed and quaint. But it doesn't change the fact that on some level, something rather monumental will happen between all the people here during this potential once in a lifetime event.

Well, that would be the idea, yes? At the very least until we're all sent home.

[If they're sent home. Though he doesn't say that out loud, having mixed feelings about it and all.]

[He said before taking a bite out of a cookie. However, as he gave a pause or two, it was clear he had something else on his mind.]

...I just don't us to fight anymore. Here or back home.

[Heizou hums thoughtfully at that, looking off with a slight tilt of his head.]

That'd be nice. I've never been much of a fan of all the fighting either. I believe it's certainly possible for Teyvat, but... it'll take some time.

…Do you think it can be done? I want to think so but I also know not to get my hopes up.

[As much as he knew Father wanted better things for her family, there was no denying that it would take some time.]

…Because you’re more optimistic than I am.

My intuition tells me that it can, yes. And I always listen to my intuition~

[Especially since there is a certain legendary someone running around Teyvat, perhaps as they speak...]

You and Lyney have both met the Traveler, yes?

Yes, that's correct. He was the one who helped us out when we needed it.

[He said with a mumble or two.]

...Are you suggesting that he will be the one to save us?

[He shrugs a little, smiling mostly to himself.]

I'm suggesting it's possible! The Traveler has accomplished a lot since first arriving in Teyvat. Who knows what sorts of world-changing feats they'll be getting up to next?

I suppose you are right.

[He couldn't deny that. The traveler has done some amazing things during his stay here. Still...]

I want to believe that he will make things better for us. Although, I have to wonder if it's wrong of me to dream up such a thing.

[Heizou chuckles.]

Did you know the Traveler was the one who made the Raiden Shogun reopen the borders of Inazuma? Without even doing anything particularly special, I hear. I believe that if the Traveler truly set their mind to bringing peace to Teyvat and absolving animosities with the Fatui, they could.

...Even making sure the orphanage is no longer associated with them...?

[It seemed like such a big dream but it was too huge of a task for even the traveler. Could he even do such a thing?]

Hmmm... I get the feeling that while they might not be able to make that happen entirely on their own, they just so happen to know some of the right people for the job~

[He knows that given the opportunity Lyney would make that happen in a heartbeat. And Arlecchino just might be searching for that very window herself.]

[scooba]

You're not suggesting...?

[He didn't need to finish that line. He knew whom he was talking about. Still, that made him raise an eyebrow or two.]

...Knowing them, they would do whatever it takes if they had to chance.

[Pause] ...And if that is what they wish, I'll do the same.

[Heizou just smiles. Freminet's a smart kid. And a good one, with a good heart. It's no surprise to hear that he would help his family find peace.]

I know you would. It's always so good to hear about the way you all support each other, you know.

Well...

[He said with a mumble or two.]

...That's all I have left. Without my family, I'm not sure where or what I'd be.

[He reaches over to rest a hand on Freminet's shoulder and give him a comforting squeeze.]

I'm glad you all have each other. I think all of you are better people for it.

[In the back of his mind, he had to wonder if they do remember all of this?]

....Mr. Heizou, if we do remember all of this? Would you like to visit the House one day?

Perhaps...one day, you can meet Lyney's other siblings. And you can get a warm welcome there.

[It was a nice thought TO know that the family was expanding and there would be more people to join them. Although...]

Or at least, as much as we can anyway.

Oh? I'd like that a lot! But I know I've already met one of the most important siblings in his life.

[Heizou knows Lyney loves all of his siblings in the House, but Freminet and Lynette are obviously dearer to him than the others. It doesn't take an ace detective to figure out that much.]

Until then, I'm happy just to hear more about your other siblings.

[As much as Freminet wanted to deny it, he couldn't. Compared to his sister, he was the only other sibling that was important to him. Despite having discussed this before, it still took him by surprise. He didn't know what to say at first and instead, looked downward. It was one thing to hear it from Lyney but it was another hearing it from someone else.

Trying to hold back a tear or two, he shook his head.]

...Then, what do you want to know about them? Father has a habit of adopting children that most would find rather...interesting.

[And totally not avoiding the subject at all.]

[Nice evasion there, Fremi. Heizou will let it go with a soft smile, patting Freminet on the shoulder one more time before withdrawing his hand completely.]

Lyney mentioned something like that when we spoke about it, but he didn't get into much detail... How about you tell me about the sorts of things you all like to do together in the house? I know it isn't all missions and training, after all.

[With the pat on his shoulders, he gave a sigh of relief.]

We usually have parties or have some kind of day where we play games. I know Father said it's a way to boost morale and a way to get to know one another better. Sometimes, we even go out and have fun around Fontaine too.

[Pause]

...Those kinds of days are the best as we don't have to worry much.

Parties, hm? And everyone in the House participates? What sorts of games do you play?

[Heizou's genuinely curious. Especially since he really can't imagine being part of a family the size of an orphanage. This isn't just one or two more kids they're talking about, and he knows their ages all span quite a wide range.

He's also happy to keep the conversation nice and light. He doesn't want Freminet's mood to get dragged down.]

Is there anyone else you're particularly close to in the House?

I suppose the usual things? Cards, board games, charades? Or even watching Lyney do some of his magic tricks too...?

[However, as soon as he finished, he couldn't help but tense up. He wanted to lie but he couldn't. Not when Heizou was this smart.]

....Honestly? Outside of Lyney, Lynette, and Father? There isn't one that I am close to...

[Ah, he'd guessed as much. Freminet is so shy and quiet, after all. It's a bit of a shame that this is true even at home among family. But when there are so many people living under one roof, it must be easy to simply keep to himself off to one side.]

No need to be embarrassed, Freminet. I'm only asking because I want to get to know you all better. I know it can be hard to get close to people, even when they're your family.
