ELTRUT
With the Ghoul's Moon festivities over, it's time for everyone to clean up and prepare for the coming winter season. Of course, with the leviathans capable of moving and keeping to warmer waters, it's usually not much of an issue. But it never hurts to be prepared, and the crops and products are always great for export.
Of more concern, both Eltrut and the Naughtilust were weakened from the attack from the Ghost Ship and are dozing a bit for the first week or so. Those in charge are requesting help in preparing special food that will help with their recovery. But to help keep spirits up and to hopefully provide some positive energy to the leviathans, a special hotpot gathering will be hosted for anyone to come and help cook, either for the leviathans or for others. A perfect chance to socialize and catch up with others. Just keep an eye out—someone may try to spoil the food.
One of the biggest products that will be sent off this season will be everything pumpkin. The giant pumpkin shell Eltrut created for Ghoul's Moon will start to shed and the leviathan will need some help in gathering the large chunks before it falls completely into the ocean. Harvesting the pumpkin shell off of Eltrut is no easy feat, but not only is it edible, the rind is also tough and durable.
🔪 Harvest. Using carving knives and pickaxes, everyone must head out of town and into the forests to remove the pumpkin and clean off the shell beneath. Large tubs and wagons will be provided to help haul off the goods.
🐢 Pumpkin Spice Turtles. Drawn by all the pumpkins are small little pumpkin turtles. They are forbidden from being harmed or caught, however, they produce a special "pumpkin spice" and "pumpkin cinnamon" dust that can be carefully collected. While most will respect the law, others will be greedy and try to capture these turtles. Help protect and catch any who try—or perhaps get some extra cash by successfully catching and selling them off.
🔨 Build-A-Pumpkin. To help spur motivation and creativity, there are numerous competitions centered on building the most interesting and durable creation using only the pumpkin rinds. Some small things like nails and bits of wood can be used to help, but it must otherwise be made out of the rinds. From unique artwork to small buildings to carriages to boats and ships—the possibilities are endless. Just don't mind the mess.

A perfect chance to socialize and catch up with others. Just keep an eye out—someone may try to spoil the food.
To aid the two weakened leviathans, a list of key ingredients is provided for volunteers to head into the forests and out to sea to gather. Large tables and several grills, pots, and other cooking equipment will be provided for anyone to use.
🔥 Fire Sprites. Instead of normal flames, the food for the leviathans needs to be cooked over a special fire created by special fire sprite. They will only appear around campfires or bonfires where stories are told, so time to create a suitable fire pit and get to storytelling! Any kind will work.
🌰 Chest of Chestnuts. One of the most prized ingredients is a special type of chestnut that can only be found in special acorn chests buried underground by squirrel scavengers. These squirrels specifically gather these chestnuts because they are so rare, delicious, and known to have medicinal properties. Said squirrels will also gladly relinquish their store…if they can remember where those chests are. Time to go on a wild treasure hunt!
🐡 Fish Puffing. There is a special type of pufferfish that will be carefully collected and brought to the pier where volunteers must wear special gloves and carefully squeeze the fish to force it to secrete a special fluid that has potent healing properties. Soothe the fish and make them more willing to be handled by singing a cheerful tune. Whistling and other music can help. Feeding them special kelp and gently petting them will also keep them calm and less agitated.
🍲 Cookoff! Whether it's for the leviathans or just cooking a meal to be shared with others, the cooking stations are constantly in use. Who can prepare the most delicious meal?

ELAH
Things are a bit hectic within Baleen, the capital city of Elah. A wild flock of singing turkeys have been set loose and they are running amok, causing a disturbance to everyone. They are getting stuck in chimneys, popping into bathrooms, and swimming in the many fountain pools found all over town. What makes them more disruptive is their singing, which, unfortunately, sound more like nails dragging down chalkboard. While some may be ready to roast them to send to Eltrut for a feast, perhaps some may try to catch them.
And send them to Nogard. (They likely came from there, anyway—)
Researchers would especially appreciate it if these turkeys could be caught and removed as they are busy studying the tombstone relic brought back from the ghost ship. What secrets could it hold…?

Researchers would especially appreciate it if these turkeys could be caught and removed as they are busy studying the tombstone relic brought back from the ghost ship. What secrets could it hold…?
At the Archives, researchers are hard at work studying the broken pieces of the black tombstone that was brought back from the ghost ship. They believe it's the reason the ship and its undead crew appeared, but how?
💤 Energy Drain. Although precautions are set, those who are exposed to the relics start feeling a bit drained, as if their energy is being sucked away. Quickly remove any affected and find a way to seal or contain the relics without being affected as well.
🪦 Undeadly Experiments. Although now in pieces, the tombstone relic still holds some power. Thus researchers decide to perform direct tests and experiments to see how it affects the undead. There are requests made to those who have previously died either in their world or this one, and some venture to graveyards where dead and ghosts are sometimes active. When in close contact with the relic, all who have experienced death in some way will become more hostile and aggressive, some even outright attacking any nearby. Help protect those performing the experiment and subdue the affected until they calm down.
🏃♂️ Thief! Those damn Corsair, they can never respect important research! A few bad eggs are breaking the agreement and are trying to steal the fragments, perhaps to sell them off to someone else or for some other purpose.

NOGARD
In Nogard, the island the leviathan has settled in is teeming with wild beasts, and perhaps due to being in a warmer climate, they are appearing more and more often, as if coming out of hibernation. It makes for a perfect opportunity for hunters to head out in hopes of collecting rare meat, materials, and hides that can be used and sold. To prevent overhunting, a competition is hosted with rules and regulations that all participants must abide by.
As such, there will be a group to help ensure security and they will even request assistance from Paladins, who are also allowed to participate in the hunt if they wish. Thus those who prefer to go after people will be quite useful to keep track and go after anyone who is poaching, hunting creatures under the "protected" list, or wasting the kills. To any who are caught…well, the Paladins may fare nicer compared to a Corsair.
Afterwards, a large feast to celebrate is thrown, though of course it can get rowdy and with the alcohol fountain brought in, fights and brawls are bound to happen.
But there will also be a "special guest" rushing into town: wild boars. Perhaps agitated by the hunts or out for revenge against those who targeted them (which was allowed), the boars are crashing and charging into everything they see. While this may look like a good opportunity to prepare some BBQ Boar, the conservationists of the Corsairs would like to drive most of them back into the wilds.

While most predators and creatures of large populations are eligible for the competition, there are a few notable hunts that will reap great rewards for those who dare. Those who turn in their kills will receive a decent portion of the profits and first choice in what to keep for their own. The rest will be turned in to be sold, with the Elphantin tusks going straight to Eltrut to be used for the recovery efforts.
🦈 Goblin Shark. This deep-sea shark has a distinctive long, flattened snout and protrusible jaws, making it look quite unusual compared to other shark species. All parts of its body can be used so it makes for a profitable hunt—if one can brace the cold depths to take it down.
🐍 Coibara. Head of a cobra, body of a bear, and tail and coloring of a koi fish, this snake chimera can be found in dark coves and anywhere near deeper bodies of water. Capable of sprinting over the ground and swimming, beware of its poisonous fangs, which can also fetch a pretty penny along with its hide. The venom can also be collected for both poison and anti-venom purposes.
🦚 Pexeo. An equine beast with the body and markings of a zebra and plumage and head of a peacock that roams the greener valleys. Although not hostile, it can be dangerous if attacked, its beak revealing sharp rows of teeth that can tear up anything that gets caught in it and its hooves sharp as blades. Rather than killed, the feathers are the real prize and can be carefully plucked instead. But its meat can be considered a delicacy in some areas.
🐘 Elphantin. This giant elephant like creature is considered as the top hunt of the list. They can only be found deep within the forests and only appear at dawn when the foggy mist is thickest. While every part can be used, what makes this the top prize is the medicinal properties of its tusks. But it is very difficult to track and hunt and will take a group of skilled hunters to take down.

[Is naeva amused? No, absolutely not, perish the thought.
Anyway there's a white-haired woman in a jackal mask with a HUGE fluffy black cat just. Draped on her. It is definitely ruining the spooky aesthetic.]
no subject
And does she often wear a mask or had she merely forgotten that the masquerade was a number of days ago now?
Pumpkinpatch, the cat, keeps twining around his feet, making it impossible to walk without hurting the beast and Fenris isn't cruel..]
There is no following if she will not allow me to take a step forward. [Is he brooding or content or mad? Hard to tell.]
no subject
[It's just that masks are terribly comfortable, Fenris. She shrugs her shoulders a bit, and tilts her head.]
I don't think you'll have much luck convincing her of other courses of action.
no subject
He frowns harder.]
In fact, I would say it's safe to inform you, Ms. Cat, that I rather hate them.
[Pumpkin stares up at him with greenish-yellow eyes, before she slow blinks and kneads the ground.]
You take her, you obviously like them if you already have one.

Gallows Gambit
"What...the hell happened?" He looks blearily towards the blur that is Fenris. Is he...glowing? "What'd you say?"
no subject
Still, it doesn't take much time to figure out they are captured like he kept hearing about. There was little other reason for their situation.
"I asked if you are capable of lock picking, the cell we are in is locked."
no subject
Fenris' appraisal was right on the money, Nappa sits up and in one movement of his arms simply snaps the chains holding him. "Little twerps got the jump on me." He growls. "Not gonna get that chance again. Hey, you were askin' if I can pick locks, right?"
Rising, he heads past Fenris tl the cell door. Doesn't look like anything special. "Couldn't even spring for some kinda energy barrier. What a joke." Then he hauls back and gives the door a single, powerful kick.
And just like that the cell no longer has a door, though Nappa kicking it clear off its hinges doubtless made quite a bit of noise. "There. I picked it." Nappa gestures towards the entryway.
"I don't know about you Tiny, but I'm in the mood to bust some heads. You in?" Put the Mighty Nappa in a cell? His Saiyan pride demands a response.
no subject
Yeah, so when he hauls back and kicks down the door, Fenris just stands there with a flat look on his face, unperturbed by any of this.
"Seeing your great skills in lockpicking were more silent than a mouse," his tone was dry and sarcastic, "I see that busting some skulls will be an.. easy enough venture for us."
Especially when he can already hear people coming down the hallway to investigate the noise. "Seems I am, yes," he gestures for the man to take the lead.

IV. coibara hunting
He doesn't use his more mundane senses, though. He expands his awareness, seeking out disturbances in the darkness, listening for simpler minds.
He waits until Fenris looks his way, and then indicates a direction, a path that takes them further into the darkness. This way, he says, his quiet voice sounding in Fenris' mind rather than his ears. There are less of them, and they are not swimming.
no subject
Yet, instead of questioning it right now, he chooses to question it later and nods. Later he would ask about this strange magic he's never experienced before. He was trying to be more understanding of magics of other worlds, but it was hard when things reminded him of demons or blood magic so often as they did. Both things he didn't tolerate well.
Moving into the darkness, he sticks to the path that takes them further from the water and quietly skulks through the darkness, his barefeet silent on the ground in a way that's natural, as if used to going undetected, even with a greatsword the same size as himself.
no subject
His own footsteps are quiet, in the similar manner of someone who has been trained for stealth, albeit not as in practice as Fenris. The noise is not enough to rouse the ire of the beasts ahead, thankfully.
The tunnel opens up into a larger cave. Several Coibara hiss aggressively at one another within, keeping their distance but their hoods and fangs clearly on display. Some already bear claw marks - likely fighting for space.
Pick your prey. I will support you. He normally hunts people, not beasts, and the man has a greatsword besides. Kimmuriel knows his role here will not be as the vanguard of the chase, but he needs not be - he hunts for practical reasons, not for glory.
no subject
The voice in his head makes his head tilt with discomfort, now sure that some kind of magic was at play to have a voice speak with him so directly without sound. But he doesn't focus on it, instead once more nodding. There will be questions later, but right now they needed to take out their prey.
Finding a rock, he tosses it against a nearby wall in the cove, catching the attention of all the coibara, who stand silently at the idea of another threat before one is adventurous enough make his way towards the rock with some growled hisses at the others.
Fenris waits patiently, waits til the hissing creature is sniffing at the air by the rock that he finally allows his markings to flare to life, a brilliantly blue glow as he runs forward with still silent feet. The creature hears him intime to turn around and hood flaring before he's engaging it, greatsword coming down on it in a sweeping arc and slicing into it's thick hide with ease.
The coibara staggers back with a screech, but Fenris is relentless, moving forward and bringing his greatsword down on it once more.

gallows gambit
he'll deal with that later once he's out of here and dealt with the paladins or whatever they're called. fake marines, in his mind, anyway.
a corner of the cell is where he sits, meditating to calm his annoyance then eventually jerking his arms apart and snapping the chains between the cuffs easily. the cuffs can come later; he can think of them as some form of reminder to not be so stupid next time. because he'd had his eyes closed, he doesn't notice the glowing — but even if he had, zoro wouldn't have bothered to ask or question it. he's seen enough crazy shit people can do, a glowing body isn't really big time.
he sniffs as he rises to his feet, crosses over to the cell door, gives a passing glance to his cellmate with a smirk as sharp as a knife's edge tugging at his lips, )
Yeah, great.
( which means that he lifts his hand to curl into a fist, that hand and forearm nearly up to his elbow turn black, and he strikes with lightning speed against the lock and the metal bars bend as the contraption with the lock clatters to the floor and the door swings open. his arm falls back to his side, returning to normal as he steps through into the corridor to figure out where his swords are. )
Picked.
no subject
Ah.
Seems the man alone needs to brute force it. Well, if anyone was nearby to hear them, they absolutely did after that display. It was curious, was it a magic? Perhaps, perhaps not. It didn't read as magic to him, more an ability. ]
Impressive and extremely silent.
[There is sarcasm towards the last statement but he does give the man a grateful nod before looking around for his weapon as well. The left seems to lead to more cells while the right leads to the outside, the gallows. If their weapons were taken from them, then it would be likely they were disposed of towards the entrance, not further in.]
Come. [He gestures for the man to follow as he moves right.]
no subject
Sneaking isn't my specialty.
( not when he looks like a bull in the china shop, anyway, and has the uncaring attitude of the very same bull.
or, y'know, when he's a man always thirsty for a fight.
anyway.
probably a good idea for someone else to lead the way, because zoro would likely have them traveling in circles with nothing to show for it but frustration and an intimate knowledge of that particular circle. even though he'd like to think he's a leader and knows his way around everywhere and everything, he doesn't mind following someone else when they don't make him feel like an idiot. so, he goes along to the right, keeping alert for anyone that might be coming after his racket. )

iii.
Fenris can't hear the battle cries the plant is calling out, but Aerith can. It is a sickening song of lust and total destruction. As he bleeds, the plant cries for more in a desperate thrum of pleasure. His words register moments later, as her gaze snaps from the plant to him. The grip on her staff tightens, knuckles going white as she nods. Her lips are in a thin, sour line. ]
Right.
[ With that, she raises a hand overhead— perhaps he will still bleed, but he should feel the warm breeze of a healing save tossed his way. ]
I've got your back, don't worry. [ She watches him for a moment, alit from within with icy blue energy. He's haloed, really, like they said angels would be. Aerith knows what's happening, but can't say anything, can't say a word about the knot of both shame and anger flaring in her. These tactics are revolting— ]
You need to cool down, okay? [ Enough to make her send a bolt of ice flying through the air, freezing one vine as it slashes through the air, wildly looking for something to penetrate. ] Hey... Think you can handle it if I distract it for a bit?
no subject
He turns his attention to the other just in time to see who is it - Aerith - and while he doesn't know her full capabilities, he does feel a surge of protectiveness at the idea that she was in danger here. She was likely fully capable and he wasn't about to doubt her, but he still felt a need to protect her regardless. A want to-- He shakes his head and focuses on the battle once more.
He does his best to ignore the feeling of wanton desire at hearing her voice, at feeling the sweep of healing energies wash over him - magic user, something he will address once the battle was over but not before then, he was able to prioritize his situation over his distaste at least.]
Most definitely, though do be careful - something isn't right with this creature. [He speaks his concern for her, it evident in his voice as he wrenches his sword free from its viney grasp, rending another vine from the creature, though it has many to pick from.
Another vine comes to swing heavily at him, but he flares hotly, the faint blue glow becoming bright and it swings right through him harmlessly.]
no subject
Got'cha! [ For someone experiencing a difficult mix of agitation, hunger and confusion— she's pretty amicable and easy to direct in combat. Although she picks up on the notes of concern in Fenris' voice, there's little to say about it in the moment. Maybe later she'll just tell him she's not some priss who needs to be taken care of, but maybe it's easier to just show him.
So while revulsion paints his mood, Aerith's got her staff held overhead and she's calling to the plant like a fool. ] Yoohoo! Over here! Forget about him! [ The plant shudders at the sound of her voice before turning, one vine moving to try and envelope Fenris so as not to lose it's other meal, but how often do you get a little willowy thing offering herself up for a good time like this?
It shudders again, petals moving, hungry and sloppy, and Aerith quips, as if someone actually said it: ] That's all? If you wanna find out how good I taste, come and get some.
[ When the plant lunges, so does Aerith: from the double-ringed staff in her hand comes a beam of light, reverently, as if summoned from the Gods above. It bores a hole into a petal, eating away at one limb eagerly.
Which makes it a sitting duck, as it writhes in— pain? Pleasure? One might wonder with the way it's drooling. ]

He definitely does not know how to pick locks.
"I can get us out of this cell, but I can't do anything about these." He admits, tugging at his hands that are cuffed together in a block of wood.
"I think I can do it without getting free but..." He's not actually sure.
no subject
It takes a moment of straining, of pulling the two halves apart, but soon the wood starts to splinter under his hands and break, the henge holding the lock in place coming lose from the wood and breaking apart. He couldn't pick a lock, but he could most definitely break one, so he does.
"The bars are a little harder for me to open for us both," he looks a little chagrinned.
no subject
He gestures at the wall. "If you can boost me so I can see outside, I can put us out there. I can make portals."
Demyx explains, tilting his head. "What do you think about it?"

He chuckles softly, unable to keep from smiling as he spots that orange cat making her selection.]

She would do better with someone that actually wants her. [He didn't like cats. They reminded him of Anders and how the man never shut up about his stupid cat he left behind or some nonsense.
