Who: Cidolfus Telamon & Benedikta Harman. Status: Closed. Where: Around places. What: Cid and Benedikta follow a lead and sneak into a fancy holiday party. Event stuff TBA. Warnings: it's them, what do you want from me
[A light chuckle as he smiles into that kiss as he also shifts to be comfortable against her.]
Not without some trials, of course. After all, they need to learn of her origins and recruit others to their cause...
[And so he will continue the tale, one that is filled with common tropes, but it's a fun story all the same. Although there are elements that could match their own situation and past, he tries to make it different so it's not too similar...although it is a little fun to try and draw off people they knew, both in their world and this one. A lighthearted adventure of meeting new people, fighting foes, and of course the budding romance of this knight and maid.
He'll ask for her input often enough, but eventually he'll notice her starting to fall asleep, His voice will grow lower, quieter, and once Benedikta is asleep he'll gently brush her hair, watching her carefully before his eyes drift to her leg that had been injured.
It really had been harrowing, watching her fly off into the winds, almost swallowed by the sky. And then the hawk... If he had not learn how to levitate and fly, he would have needed to find someone else to fly after her or find somehow to get her down. But he had felt true panic, as if he might lose her again. And all because he didn't pay attention and was too complacent, thinking she would be safe within the lodge so he didn't hasten to retrieve as he should have...
This carelessness is something he would remember and hold onto fast, as it reflects possibilities even here. She could be safe in the Roost, in their home, but what if something happens and was not around, or something else? Worries he knows are bordering mania, but with how many times he's almost lost and has lost her, it's not so surprising that his thoughts momentarily drift to such extremes.
Lowering his lips to the top of her head and releasing a low sigh, he pushes those intrusive thoughts away. At least this time and all these other times he did save her. He can't always keep her safe, but he can at least be there to help her, rescue her. He needs to remember that.
So it will be a while before he'll be able to drift and doze off into a light sleep, quick to wake whenever she stirs. And as if nothing was amiss, he'll smile and prepare the dinner he had promised. At least by now those fears will have faded, and he will focus all his attention in making sure she is comfortable...

And you are going to keep my lonely little soul company, aren't you?
no subject
I'll even read you a book and bring you dinner.
[A wry grin as he comes back with ice wrapped up in a towel for her to use.]
But you also have that headache. Need anything more for it?
no subject
But when he comes back, she takes the ice pack, but doesn't bother to place it on her leg just yet.]
No, I believe a nap will be all I need. So long as you join me. Read me a book until I fall asleep.
[That last part is clearly a joke. Please don't read her a bedtime story—]
no subject
Shall I? Perhaps that one book you enjoy so much, about the sailor and maid.
[One of her hidden books.]
no subject
Oh, you've read it, have you? Then you know that it will not end in my napping.
no subject
It would have to since you are resting.
[And then after setting his cup down, he will answer her beckons and pull her over into his lap before standing.]
no subject
[As she slides onto his lap and allows herself to be picked up, arms slinking around his neck so that she can nuzzle close.]
You may tell me all about this King and his Queen instead.
no subject
[He asks as he carries his queen to their room where he can gently place her on the bed. Even fluff up her pillow to relax.]
no subject
As he sets her down, she'll drag him with her once he's finished fluffing her pillow.]
Mm, I'd love to know the story of how they met.
no subject
Well I might need some assistance in that. What would his queen have been doing before?
no subject
What exactly is it that queen's do? I suppose... learning how to wield a sword. Or perhaps she would already know how? Picking apples?

[Another hum, and she rolls closer to him so that she can drape her arm over his waist.]
Perhaps she is just a lowly maid girl out hanging her laundry when he stumbles upon her. Maybe... she does not know that she is of royal blood.
no subject
[And yet one that rings close to home. Which makes him ponder a bit.]
And what if the king is not a king, but a lord knight planning to rebel against the tyrant king?
no subject
She leans in to kiss him before plopping her head back down on the pillow.]
And so this knight recruits her to his cause, and they fall in love with one another during their travels?
πππ
Not without some trials, of course. After all, they need to learn of her origins and recruit others to their cause...
