Player Plot: Great Ape Nappa

Who: Nappa, Zelda, Darin, Emet-Selch, Miriam, Gohan, Sonic, Ranma Saotome

Status: Closed to those participating in the event.

Where: Nappa's hideout in a less-populated area of Elah.

What: Looking for an illicit payday, Nappa kidnaps Zelda to hold her for ransom. However, he makes sure the pay-off happens on the night of the full moon, so he can play his trump card if things go south...

Warnings: Gonna be violence.

[Just a few years ago, Gohan would indeed have been "crappin' his pants" at the sight of Nappa's Great Ape form. He feared conflict, loathed violence and was generally afraid of anything outside of the tiny world he knew.

But that young, terrified boy was long gone, having grown up into a fearless young man. But even if he hadn't? After the horrors Gohan has witnessed throughout his short life, Nappa didn't even make the top 10.

When Nappa's fist comes down on Gohan, he does indeed make contact, the ground quaking and the impact sending out a dust cloud in every direction from the point of impact. There's even a fist-sized crater where Gohan once stood.

But Nappa might notice something wrong after a moment. His fist hasn't actually hit the ground. Once the dust settles, he might notice something holding him back, a single, comparatively small fist effortlessly stopping the advance of his straight punch. And that same defiant glare glowering at him from behind it.]

Nappa's expecting to squash the kid outright, which, sucks for the kid, but there are consequences when you run your mouth at a Saiyan Elite, and people gotta know that or you just open yourself to all manner of disrespect.

But when the fist connects, immediately Nappa can feel something is wrong. It doesn't feel like the blow connected, it feels like it was...

Stopped.

But that's impossible.

When the dust settles, Nappa peers down into the crater created by the force of the impact, and looks on the impossible.

Gohan stopped his punch cold. In Great Ape form.

There's a moment while the Saiyan is visibly trying to work out what's just happened, because it simply just isn't computing.

"THAT'S NOT...HEY! WHAT KINDA TRICK YOU PULLING HERE, BRAT?!" He pulls his fist back, steps back, and opens up his mouth. All right, then. Big guns it is.

Gohan can feel Nappa's energy levels spiking as he forms of a ki blast from between his jaws, a powerful one (at least as far as Nappa is concerned). It's a technique he's seen before, when Nappa tried to use it against his father.

The ball of energy hovers between his fangs for a moment before Nappa unleashes his Break Cannon, shooting it down towards Gohan in an unrelenting blast.

[Gohan's eyes go wide for a second as he feels Nappa's energy levels suddenly jump. It wasn't enough to alarm Gohan, but it was enough to make him have to take action. He recognized the attack from when Nappa squared off against his father. He tried to use that same move to kill him and Krillin, right before Nappa was soundly put to rest...

He couldn't let Nappa's blast hit the ground, it would definitely level the city block. There wasn't enough to evacuate people either, of course. He'd have to counter.

Crossing his palms and raising them above his head, he focuses his ki into his hands. If Nappa could sense energy himself, or had a scouter in his Great Ape form, he'd probably sense Gohan's energy climbing.]

Masenko...

[He mutters the technique quietly, trying to keep his build up only to what was necessary to push back Nappa's attack. A sphere of energy forms in his palms, pulsing and swelling as he builds up the power.]

Haaaa!

[Thrusting his palms outward, he fires his Masenko forward to clash with Nappa's Break Cannon.]

Regrettably for Nappa, he left his Scouter behind, not seeing any reason to need it. After all, who could challenge him like this?

Ha, the stupid brat thinks he's gonna do something. Well, no one can stop a Great Ape empowered —

Masen-what?

The blasts collide, and to Nappa's immense shock, the Masen-whatever pushes back against the Break Cannon, driving the blast back towards Nappa.

Oh crap.

Nappa has no choice but to try and pour more of his energy reserves into the blast, straining his Great Ape form even to its limit, just to try and not be blasted by his own attack, and Gohan's.

And yet, it starts to dawn on Nappa that even with all his strength committed...it still won't be enough.

Seriously! Who IS this kid?!
