Who: Freminet&Alhaitham's rescue party, guest starring Bloom Cores
Status: Closed
Where: Very Unlucky Kidnapper's Base
What: Rescue Mission
Warnings: violence. Definitely violence.
[Right. Kaveh contacted Arlecchino, and assumes if she knows, Lyney and Heizou know too. He has a homing bracelet. He is willing to steal a boat. He has so many bloom cores.
Let's get our boys back, shall we.]

Thankfully, for better or worse Freminet doesn't attempt to actually argue and moves the conversation along. At his next question Alhaitham glances back out at the little they can see beyond the bars of their cell, trying to study whatever he can of their nearby surroundings as he mulls over the question.]
...we'll try the key first. [This cell that they're in seems to be part of the building itself, which means that there should be a place for keys to be. Now the question of them actually doing so is another thing entirely, but until proven otherwise...
He eyes the bars—or more specially the gap between them—and then looks to Freminet again.] Can you fit your arms through the bars?

Looking at the area, it seemed that there wasn't a lot they could do. When the guards weren't around, he had to wonder just how they were going to get out.]
I can try. [He said before attempting to do so. Unlike Alhaitham, he was smaller than him, he barely managed to get through the bars before taking it back.] ...I wonder just how strong I can fight from the bars though...
no subject
We're not fighting. [He clarifies, even as a part of him makes a few notes on this face. The House of the Hearth certainly puts their kids through quite the regime if the first thing that comes to mind is something like that.] If this place is meant to be a temporary hold then there's a fair chance that they have the keys hung close by. We need to figure that out, and then see if you can reach for it.

[They probably were going to be attacking someone and they had to be prepared for something to go wrong. Wouldn't that obviously mean a fight could happen? Or at the very least, there was going to be some resistance. After all, he was always taught to be prepared for the worst outcome. It was to fight or be attacked.]
Well...if there are keys nearby, we'll have to keep an eye out and see where it is.
[Which was probably for the best, he wasn't that strong without his Claymore and he couldn't risk getting into another fight. Looking around, he was trying to see where they could have placed said keys.] I just know it won't be somewhere too obvious...

[Alhaitham of course doesn't think that they're going to get out of here without some kind of resistance, but its not something he's going to actively seek out either. If there's a way for them to get out without a confrontation, then that will be the ideal way to handle it. The lesser the fuss, the better it will be.
He looks as Freminet attempts to seek out the key from where he is, huffing after a second before speaking.] Try the walls right beside the bars.
[Sometimes, the answers are at the places which are right under your very nose.]

Right...
[He trailed off before looking at the wall. Of course, he found himself blushing a little as he saw the key right beside them. Without another word, he looked at Alhaitham before attempting to grab said key from the wall. However, it was proving a little more difficult than it looked as he was trying to grab it through the bars. He was barely short of getting them.
And yet, it didn't stop him from stretching his arm out as much as he could!]

As Freminet continues to struggle for the keys Alhaitham glances around the cell, trying to see if there's anything at all which can help them. Judging from how messy this place is it doesn't seem like the people who got them here have bothered to clean up in the slightest, so there might be a chance for something to turn up.]
You're not going to get any closer to it like that. [He speaks up after a bit of searching on his own end; not so much out of concern, but because there really is no use in exerting their limited energy for something that's physically impossible.] We'll be better off trying to find something in here that might be able to help us.
[It doesn't need to be anything good. It just needs to work for however long they need it to.]
no subject
See anything that would be useful?
[So far, it didn't seem like there was. Not unless he got creative. But even then, he wasn't sure if it'll work or not.]
Or at least, just far enough to get the keys.
[He said before attempting to figure out a way to get his jacket off. If there was nothing, he could at least try to get it off to make a makeshift noose.]
no subject
For better or worse, it seems like Freminet is of the same mind as well, judging by how he starts to struggle to get out his jacket. Alhaitham watches him do that for a while before he lets out a huff and makes his way over to the kid, reaching out to hold his wrists and keep them extended towards him. He doesn't say anything as he unbuttons the sections that are holding the sleeves up, letting go of him as soon as he's done.]
The material of your clothes is thicker than mine. [He simply says, as factually as ever.] It should be more durable with what we need it to do.
hi pretend this isn't late
Just as he was about to say something, he raised an eyebrow or two.]
Are you sure?
[He said before looking at the materials before him. As he took a hold of them, he glanced at back the tall man before carefully making a lasso. However, the look he gave him was almost asking him if he was allowed to do such a thing.]
its ok i am also late
Yes, I'm certain. [He says, eyeing at the lasso that Freminet has made before walking over to the bars. There's a pause as he takes the time to approximate distance and angles based on the space that they have, though no matter how he does so he can't say anything with full certainty—these things were always more of Kaveh's expertise, not his.
Still, its not like he can ask his senior for advice, so the best he can do is give it his best calculation, and then relaying it over to Freminet.] Stand here, with your body angled like this, and then toss it through the gaps towards the keys.
[He explains it while doing the motions so that the other can see for himself, and once he's done he steps away, giving the space for Freminet to do what Alhaitham had just demonstrated.]
We can be late together
As he gave a nod and tried to make a lasso, he had looked at the keys for a moment. Just like the taller man, Freminet was also trying to figure out what was the best way to get it from this distance. It didn't seem like it was that hard but he also wanted to avoid any mistakes. He didn't want to make any noises that would notify the guards...]
Right, um...I'll try my best.
[Watching Alhaitham do the motions, he tried to do the same. Of course, the first try nearly caught the key, he missed it by an inch. However, the second try he managed to catch it but...]
There isn't any guards around are there? You don't hear anyone coming in?
[There was a loud sound made from the keys falling to the ground.]
crawling along like turtles...
None, but its still best to be quick about it regardless. [There's no avoiding the fact that they are going to make some kind of noise in some fashion no matter what they do, so the best is to make this snappy and get the keys in their possession first. Everything else can be dealt with after they've secured their way out.] When you pull, make sure to do it as hard as you can.
[With luck, there might be enough force to get the keys to fly off the hook and get to their hands without them ever touching the ground.]
Sllloooowwwwwwwwww
By the time, Freminet eventually got the key to the jail cell? He had to look up at Alhaitham before giving a sigh of relief. And yet, he still had to look around to see if any guards were nearby.]
the slowest..............
At the very least, it doesn't take long for Freminet to get the keys over to their cell. Alhaitham quickly snatches them up once they're close enough to be in reach—and not a moment too soon, as the sound of footsteps approach their way.
Alhaitham doesn't say anything, but the look he gives Freminet should hopefully be enough for him to understand the sudden urgency of their situation. He steps away from the bars, twisting around to try his best to stash away the retrieved keys before they get spotted by whoever is coming around to their cell (if they're coming over to their cell—the possibility is high but he isn't going to assume). Hopefully Freminet gets the hint and backs off too so that they're less conspicuous about everything. Last thing they need is for these people to suspect that they're up to something.]
SllooOoooOOoowWwWwPpookkKkkeeEee
There was some satisfaction knowing that he managed to get the keys. Despite the limited resources, he was able to complete his task. And yet, as he raised an eyebrow, there was the unspoken question. What do they do from here on out?]
no subject
They got the keys, Alhaitham told Freminet to hide it on himself, bad people came storming into the cell, Alhaitham provoked them until they got pissed enough to completely focus on Alhaitham and beat him up, leaving Freminet unattended and uninjured (and with the key for their eventual attempted breakout that ends in failure).
Good times were had by all.]
