Who: Joshua Rosfield & Others Status: Closed. Where: Where these threads happen. What: A catch-all log for the month of May. Feel free to wildcard me here too. Warnings: Tba.
[Joshua stands holding the small “camera box” in his hands, a puzzled expression on his face. The task seems simple enough, yet he’s not entirely sure how a box is supposed to capture an image of what’s in front of him.]
Another contraption to learn, the shellphones were puzzling enough.
[Although, Joshua seems more amused than he does annoyed. He lifts the box to hold it up to “capture” Jill’s beautiful visage.]
[She shares Joshua's expression, albeit for only a second, as she hold the box awkwardly in her hands. Her arms are carrying the camera low enough that Torgal manages to get a great sniff in, his curious nose stuck right in the lens of the device.]
Yes, but we managed to find our way with them. I'm sure we will do the same with these.
[Her never-ending faith in themselves doesn't mean that Joshua catches her in a good position. When Jill looks up at him, if he presses the button at the right moment, he'll capture said visage in a half-blink, slack-jawed position. Not at all flattering.]
[Click!! That candid moment of her beautiful, scrunched face will be captured forever!! Sorry for the bad angle. It will probably take some time for them to master the idea of, "flattering angles."]
At least, it seems to be a matter of ... point and push.
[Point the camera and push the button.]
What else should we capture today? I'm sure Kaveh will want more than Torgal's nose.
[It will also take some time for her to realize Joshua caught her badly. The photos need to be developed in whatever method Kaveh sees fit. Surely, she won't be the only one looking a right fool in his collections.
Pursing her lips, she pulls the camera away from Torgal and at least has the presence of mind to wipe the wetness left behind with the edge of her sleeve before looking up at Joshua.]
I was thinking... you.
[She sounds a bit more thoughtful of her choice than just wanting to return the favor, as if she's been considering this for longer than just a minute.]
[She wants to leave her reasoning hanging here so she doesn't have to bring up unpleasant topics, but Jill has never been the "Because I said so" type. There is good rationale to her desire for a picture of her little brother, more so than just wanting proof these cameras work the way they should. But it's also actually because the cameras will work the way they should that drives Jill and she knows Joshua deserves to hear the truth.]
Because I want something to remember you by.
[After all, he didn't come back from Ultima yet when she left home. Jill has no idea of how any of them fare.]
[Joshua feels both touched and sombre at her words. He hasn't thought on the fact for some time now but Joshua actually knows his own fate should he return home. He still can't be sure that it will be a definite fate and he plans to fight it with every part of his soul but...
He comes to his dear sister and he reaches for her hand to hold it in his gingerly.]
Let us take a picture together, heads close, just like we used to when we shared our books as children.
[He'll come to her side, preparing for a group selfie. If they hold the camera device up it should capture the both of them. Correct?]

Pictures of me? Why of me?
[Surely there's much better things to take pictures of. Like Jill, or of Ambrosia, or of the sight of the ocean from The Hideaway's cliffs.]
