So a hedgehog and a tenrec walk onto a creepy island
Who: Amy Rose and Surge the Tenrec.
Status: Closed.
Where: Thirst Trap Island
What: Searching for missing ships and crews and generally trying not to die.
Warnings: Violence, blood, zombies, body horror. A little angst for delicious spice.
[ Now that things have gone back to normal (as normal as things can be around here, at least) for the most part, Amy is happy to be out and about. She's been doing little things here and there for money, but when this particular thing came up, she knew she had to do it. Even without a monetary incentive, she would have come to the aid of those in need; and anyone who has gone missing should definitely be found and rescued. It's why she wanders the beach of this uncharted territory now, keeping to herself as she looks around.
The first thing she notices is the weird vibe this island gives off. For a few moments, she wraps her arms around herself and rubs the tops of her shoulders; it's not really chilly, it's just... a feeling.
She doesn't linger long, though. It's basically a ghost town... beach? There's not a lot here, except for the chilling sight of wreckage everywhere, from many a ship. Definitely not a good sign. The pink hedgehog glances up as the gentle fall of rain begins, and for a few moments, she simply stares up into the sky, before she heaves a sigh and shakes her head. ]
Something's wrong with this place.... hnngh. Get it together, Amy -- there's more important things to worry about right now.
[ She huffs and gives her cheeks a few pats, before she takes a deep breath and begins to venture further up the beach, leaving the waves of the ocean behind as she begins to investigate one of the wrecked ships. It looks like it's been there for quite a while -- it's decaying for sure, and she steps through the a gaping, rotted hole in the hull of the large wooden vessel, yelping as the wood beneath her right foot caves and she nearly falls. She barely manages to catch herself before she bites the dust. ]
Oof--!

it's a creepy place, the inside of the boats are worn, every step she takes creaks under and above her, and she finds that no one is here. no matter when she calls out to anyone, all she gains in an echo, and that weird silence that engulfs her more than it should. she's not afraid, but she wonders if she should have brought kitsunami then she'd have an easier time.
each step alongside the drip of rain plays outside, but inside, there's nothing until pieces of woodchips fall on top of her head. ears wiggle, she shakes her head and looks up seeing that whatever had broken the floor is gone now. water drips down through the hole, and surge takes a step back to avoid it falling onto her.
what the hell man, nothing is going right at this place. despite that, she's still dry, heavy boots knocking against the floor as one hand reaches out to wipe away the dust from a picture frame to see if she can get an appearance of who she should be looking for. ]
Anyone here in this lame-o place!?

Another voice rings out, and Amy stiffens, glancing around. Ghosts don't frighten her, startle maybe, but this sounded way too clear to be a ghost. It also sounds far too familiar, too.
As she looks down, she finds a whole new reason to stiffen up; she's definitely not alone, and she's bumped into the one person she's been trying to keep away from the last few days after she hung up on her. The green tenrec looks okay, fortunately; and while it's not upsetting to see her, Amy sure as shit doesn't want a fight with the other girl right now, especially so in such close quarters.
At the same time, she doesn't entirely want to ignore her, either, because that's just rude. So, she sucks a deep breath in, and just decides to rip the band-aid off. Anyways, she's like. Above her anyways. Sooo she's probably safe.]
Iiiiit's just me. Hi.
no subject
[ the tenrec exhales at the voice, now growing quiet as she rolls her eyes. this girl. she's immediately annoyed by this as to why she ignores her instead. amy might not be willing to do it, but surge can. her eyes falling on the picture to see if there's any familiar faces, but none she's ever seen before.
water continues to drip down where surge is, because of how it keeps coming, it's not shocking that the area is a little more moist. wonderful, that's going to make walking around here more tedious. throwing her leg over a piece of broken wood, the tenrec walks in the same direction that the hedgehog is going, but doesn't say anything along the way.
underneath, if anything, the tenrec jumps up, pulling at a piece of lighting just to break the floor above, and if amy catches her leg in another...
well, it wasn't her own fault. ]
no subject
Amy's just as quiet as Surge as she makes her way through the upper level, glancing around for clues. There's a whole lot of broken junk up here, and she is stepping as gingerly as possible to avoid falling through the damned floor completely. All she's got to do is get to the little porthole that she's pretty sure she's small enough to fit through, pull herself through, and be see herself out. It sounds like a solid plan.
Except, she's not that lucky. Mostly because the green girl below decides to play with lightning and causes the floor above to break. It's not just her leg that falls through this time-- it's the whole damned hedgehog.
Surge might wanna side step if she wants to avoid being fallen on-- ]

surge doesn't stay behind to see if she's fine, instead she continues moving forward, her hand press against a door so that it swings open. inside, there's nothing but mollusks stuck to the floor, and all sorts of pots that had fallen over. surge clears her throat, and because there's nothing of interest, she shuts the door as she moves to the next door to push that open next.
going inside, the floor is pretty creaky, also threatening to cave in if she doesn't watch her step. ]
no subject
She's got a bad feeling -- this island and everything on it save for the two girls exploring this ship seems dead.
As she makes her way back out the hole she came in, she pauses just long enough to glance over her shoulder, before she shrugs and makes her way outside, hopping out of the hole and landing in the soft sand below. She frowns, though, because she suddenly feels... thirsty. Which is weird, because it's not really that hot, and she hasn't done anything to warrant feeling even the slightest bit parched. ]
Something is wrong here... [ It's said to herself; Surge, after all, is further away by now. She squints across the beach, scoping out her next target -- it's another ship, but it looks in even worse shape than the one she'd just been in. ] Man... how can anyone be alive in a place like this? There's no way...
no subject
pushing it open, the tenrec's tail wags as she calls out. ]
Survivors orrr...?
[ no one, well, some one... two people, hands held in one another's grasp, and their bodies are... stretched, blue veins visible through pallid skin that's dark in some areas, and even the stench is enough to make the tenrec's tail slow down. ]
Ugh, what the hell...
[ there's a notebook hanging off one of the bodies which surge chooses to ignore at first as she looks the shape of the bodies up and down. it looks like they're ready to burst at any moment...
it's for a brief moment that she thought she saw something move, but its the notebook falling onto the ground that surge kneels down picking it up from where it lands. ]

She shakes the thirst feeling off for now, opting to glance around. She sighs and leans against a wall, which she immediately regrets as a pair of arms suddenly flow around her shoulders. Amy stiffens, and as she looks over her shoulder to see what -- or in this case, who has grabbed her, her green eyes widen in sheer shock and horror; the corpse of a severely decomposed human has fallen against her back, its bloated arms having fallen from where they'd been positioned to RIGHT around her.
She doesn't even try to stifle the high pitched, blood curdling scream she lets out as she staggers away from the corpse, only to lose her footing and trip over a second body. For the umpteenth time today, Amy bites the dust; but this time, she falls on something nice and squishy; a third waterlogged corpse, that's curled up on itself on the floor. She pushes herself backwards damn near as fast as Sonic can run, breathing heavily as she takes in the sight.
These people look like they were drowned, and yet... that can't be. ]
WHAT is going on!?
no subject
it doesn't make sense. how does someone go from healthy to this, even as she looks at the corpses that only seem to be getting worse by the second, the tenrec flips another page. as she flips through, she comes to another page that seems a bit... out of the ordinary, the writing like chicken scratch ] [ the door slams behind surge, keeping her inside of the room, but it's unfortunate through the rain and the closed doors with surge on another boat that amy's voice doesn't carry. ]
no subject
As she bolts across the sand, she finds that she has to actually slow down to a walk, because she is just so damned thirsty. Now, she's just sort of chalking it up to the shock of... everything, really, but she's also self aware enough to know that if she doesn't get some water in her soon, she might actually be in trouble. First thing is first, though -- find Surge again.
The second her feet are back in the other ship, she's moving with a purpose. It's eerily quiet now, and she can't hear the tenrec calling out for anyone or even walking. ]
Surge! Are you still here!?
no subject
...
it hadn't been leaking here, so maybe the flooring has started to breakdown allowing some in. though, when she looks before her, her shadow has never been that tall nor that wide, a cold air blows against the tip of her quills, and the tenrec slowly turns her head at the inflated corpse behind her that's peeled itself off the bed. in its hand is an arm, ripped away from the other body that still lays there resting.
amy can hear the sound of a baby giggling, something grabbing at her heel through a small crack in the floor. the size of the hand is able to tell her its a child, but the color of the skin... the same as the corpses before. ]
no subject
[ She shouldn't have separated from her. That was a big mistake on her behalf; for all she knows, the other girl is already gone and off into the next big thing. She hopes so, at least. Before she can over analyze it, she feels a tiny hand at the heel of her boot, and she jumps. The giggle, however, gives her hope that there's at least one little survivor here. ]
Oh, thank goodness! [ She sounds so relieved as she quickly looks down, smiling a little as she expects to see a child. And she does see a child... a hand, at least. But it's not normal. It's bloated and water logged and the skin looks like it's going to just slough off at any moment.
This is a child, but it is not a living child. Amy gasps and staggers backwards, her chest tightening with a mixture of emotions; sadness, shock, disgust, and fear. She's trying not to let that last one take hold, but she finds herself backing away from the small, blueish hand that continues to pat around where her foot had once been, before it suddenly stops, and then slowly, eerily pulls itself back down into the floorboards.
Her back hits something solid; the door that had slammed shut on Surge just minutes ago. ]
Gotta get off this island... gotta go right now...
[ Her hand reaches for the doorknob, and she twists; but it's locked. It hadn't been shut or locked when she'd been in here previously, had Surge done that? She twists the knob again, and then shakes the door. ]
Hey! Hey, if you're in there, you need to come out! We're in trouble here, we have to go!
no subject
she can hear the shaking of a door knob, her eyes widen wondering if it's another, and as she has to focus on this one first before the "wife" awakes... there's a familiar voice. where the hell did she come from!? the entire time, surge didn't hear her, and now they have to go? because...
they had gotten sick because of the water, and that girl had been out there, walking around in the rain. is amy going to wind up like martha? the tenrec jumps onto a desk, her gaze violent, and she's trying to avoid the father that follows after her slowly but surely. sometimes he throws up a clear fluid in an attempt to spray it in her direction, but she manages to avoid it as she hops over to the bed. ]
I thought we were done! If you didn't want to deal with me that day!
[ she calls out, another spray of water hits against the wall, breaking through it which assists in keeping surge on her toes. jumping back to the floor, her back against the wall beside the door that's shaking. ]
I'm sure as hell not lettin' you have me today!
[ the body moves towards the surge, the broken arm dangles from the father's hand, and rather than throw it at surge. he throws it up to cause the inflated limb to pop against the ceiling, water spraying and raining down in one half of the room, and surge presses herself back against the wall to narrowly avoid it.
as long as amy shakes that door, water starts to rise within the hall, it's creeping up to her heel but she can hear something go smack, smack, smack as if crawling through the water.
and then amy will hear something call out for her. ]

That didn't make us done, and I'm sorry I hung up on you, that was super rude of me! I just don't know what to say to you most of the time!
[ The door stops shaking suddenly as Amy realizes that the water is rising out here. There's also some noise, and some unholy, hideous little voice. Now, a few years ago, the hedgehog had high hopes of raising a bunch of little blue and pink kids, hearing the pitter patter of tiny feet as they ran at super sonic speeds through the house. That dream sort of fizzled out and died, though.
Kinda like the kid that's lurking around in the water. Nice.
Amy looks around frantically and then moves away from the door, stepping up onto a weathered looking chest and out of the water. She's screwed already, she knows this; but if Surge can at least get out, well. That's a plus. She really doesn't want to club a kid, but does it count if it's already dead? ]
I'm definitely not your... ugh, I can't even say it...
[ The thirst is absolutely unreal right now, almost unbearable. She's a little too preoccupied to do much about it right now. Not that she's desperate enough to drink corpse water, anyways, not yet at least. Still. Her eyes follow the rising water, before she looks up. She grabs her hammer and begins to slam it into the ceiling, causing the wood to splinter and break, before she bends her knees and jumps. She grabs the fragile wood and dangles for a moment, before she very carefully but quickly pulls herself up and into the hole she made. ]

it's already obvious that amy doesn't like who surge is.
the tenrec is petty enough to return the same energy, ignoring amy as water starts flowing through the crack underneath the door. surge can hear her feet splash, and the bloated beast reaches out, and surge evades it again with another pop of electricity.
there's the sound of a crash, something happened outside the door, but surge doesn't focus her attention there. she allows her eyes to stare at the creature as it's hands begin to beat against its stomach over and over, water sputtering out from their nose and ears, even around the gaps of those sunken in eyes. it beats and beats and beats, why apply that sort of damage unless it's trying to burst itself.
surge takes a step back beforw grinning, clicking her tongue as she dashes straight towards it.
outside, amy may have attempted to flee by moving up, but that doesn't stop the baby from swimming faster within the water. barely catching the bottom of her shoes, and it's swollen, heavy body filled with liquid trying to weigh her down. sausage fingers try to hold on, pallid, wrinkled skin try to pull itself up towards her warmth. wishing to crawl back inside as it shouldn't have been born yet, a suitable womb, if you will. it shakes its body, trying to yank the hedgehog back down.
it'll be a tight fight, but she'll swell too, much like all visitor's that come to this island. and when amy swells, she will have so much room to fit all the children on this boat.
child-like laughter begins to grow suggesting there's more than one. ]
no subject
They keep bumping into each other, though, and Amy thinks that if she gets out of here, she's going to have to put some sort of alarm on the other girl or something so it goes off when they're near one another.
She can worry about that later. The sounds of Surge's own struggle with whatever might be in that room with her doesn't sound good; but she also seems to have way more of a handle on it than Amy does. She thinks, at least -- without a visual, she won't know. And the other girl doesn't seem keen on letting her in on it, so, it is what it is.
Just as she's about to pull herself up, she feels something grab onto her, and she yelps as she damn near plummets back down. Looking down, she can see this... thing in all of its glory, and this is something out of a horror movie or ten that she's seen. Like the one where the survivors live in a mall, or where the girl gets possessed when a passage from an evil book is read. And from the sound of it, there's more truble lurking beneath the surface. ]
Not like this... not like this! [ Amy tries to kick this thing off, but it's not budging. It's too heavy, and she has to look up at the wood she's hanging onto. The extra weight is making the rotting material splinter, and she knows that if it breaks and she falls, she's as good as dead.
She slams her free foot into the face of the creature, before her free hand has her hammer swinging down and right into the skull. The hit isn't as hard as she could if she had solid ground under her feet, but it's enough to loosen the creature enough to where she can shake it off. The splashing noise beneath her is a relief, and she catches her breath before she drags herself up and into the safety of her temporary retreat.
Climbing is the only way out of here, but that means going back out into the rain. Her attention is split three ways right now; one on the noises of a fight that are going on in the room below where she currently sits between Surge and what she can only imagine is another horror, one on the rapidly multiplying situation that she's temporarily escaped from, and the other is the path upwards and to a rainy problem.
Amy leans back against the wall for a second and closes her eyes. She doesn't know if she's going to be able to get out of this one. ]
I know you don't believe me, but I am sorry... I'm sorry for everything. I should have listened to you instead of getting frustrated and hanging up. Shadow is my friend, and I didn't want to hear you threaten him or trash talk him. I also legitimately didn't want you to get hurt.
[ And she chooses to stop talking there, because she's said what she wanted to say. She's not expecting a reply, and so, her attention now goes back up to the ceiling, before she glances around the small enclove she sits in. Her eyes light up as she sees a small chest in the corner, and she scrambles over to it, the wood creaking dangerously under her weight as she throws the top open and begins to toss things around. There's a pretty big glass framed photo inside, and she realizes this is her literal shelter from the rain. Just enough to get away.
She wants so badly to try and find a way to get Surge up here too, to keep her from whatever the hell it is she's going up against in that room, but she also knows enough about the other girl now to know that she won't accept her help even if it's offered. ]
no subject
everything happening around her isn't terrifying or hard to handle, she only has to focus, then she can get out. what she's starting to realize is that the water has unusual properties that turn them into these rotting bags of flesh, how sweat builds on the outside of their skin, or maybe that's just moisture breaking through. it's leaving indents where it hits against the skin until Walter slowly returns the area to its proper form, and surge sneers.
she's a cyborg, but what can she get away with here, can her body... of course it can, it'll follow the same consequences if any of this stuff gets in her mouth. the corpse hits their stomach again, water flowing through their lips which their upper one drapes down like a curtain as there's no more upper teeth to hold the top together.
surge jumps as the gush of water? fluid? hits at the wall again, spraying like a hose as she avoids it by using the dresser to stand on. her eyes glare at the creature, it's body slow to turn, and a voice breaks through from above. muffled by some of the water, but ears flick, she hears her. an uncomfortable feeling swells in her chest, her lips form into a grimace, and that flicker of hate held deep within her heart only lights anew.
now she's sorry? how quick does her feelings change on these matters? she's lying, she's doing this because of their situation that they're in, because what else is there to do other than convince her through an apology to make her work better. it happened to that chameleon, he seemed to regret it, and this only makes her feel even more irritable.
her fists tighten, head tilts down as she stares at the rising water, her reflection visible to her. the pain on her face, the way her brows furrow, how her teeth grind that she doesn't even realize nor did she note that stray tear that rolls down her cheek. sorry isn't enough, if she's sorry, she has to mean it, she has to show her that. it all feels like a desperation attempt because of the situation. ]
They can threaten us, they can hurt us, but... [ there's the sound of something popping, glass shattering, a bit of an electrical zap dances on surge's body fading in and out on a low level. ] when we do it, we're wrong?
[ why is everyone else allowed to harm them, do whatever they like, and its fine. why is it if they do anything back they're stopped, prosecuted, and frowned upon. why are her friends allowed that freedom, but surge and kitsunami limited?
it's never "they shouldn't have done that", no one else is ever blamed. surge doesn't know if her words are heard, if not, it doesn't matter, because all she has right now is herself to support against this monster, and kitsunami when she leaves this ship.
the creature shoots another stream of water in surge's direction, following her now as she hops to the door and applies that pressure until it knocks it back and surge jumps out the room on a small table that's floating in the ever building water.
everything here, even the water, is dangerous. ]
no subject
I don't know you or your background, or your friend or his background. No one has told me anything, and before you say anything, no, I haven't asked anyone else because it's not their story to tell. It's yours. The only thing I know about you is what little you've told me so far. Mostly you have a grudge against Sonic and his friends. I don't even understand why, because you haven't told me. But that's not your problem, it's mine.
[ It doesn't even matter if Surge listens or believes her, because it doesn't matter at this point. Amy is pretty sure that no matter what she does or what she says, Surge isn't going to listen or care. She seems to be pretty set in her ways, and as much as Amy wants to try and prove herself and become a friend, even she knows that not everyone is friend-able, so to speak. And unfortunately, Surge may be one of those rare cases. ]
If you come up here, I can get you out from the top. There's cover you can take to keep dry, too. I'm not coming with you.
no subject
without waiting, surge stands as she eyes the water where various bubbles come to the surface and pop as though something is underneath. she waits for the table to sail right underneath the hole so that she can jump, catching the rotting edges with her hands, digging the tips of her fingers into it. knowing how flimsy the wood is here, she isn't surprised when it bends from her weight. ]
Now's not the time for alla that!
[ it's not a bad thing to say that she's willing to listen, but surge is also wary what might change if she confesses. will the girl turn around quickly and say it's her fault, will she say that sonic didn't mean to, or that it isn't his fault? that's not what she wants to hear, it's that sort of mindset that made it their fault.
but if she's willing to listen and understand... ]
Everyone here is dead, what sorta mission is this?
no subject
Amy looks up at the rotting wood above them. There's not enough room for her to swing, but there are other ways. She turns her hammer handle-side-up, and begins to ram it hard into the wood above. ]
I don't... I don't know. I thought this was a rescue mission... when I went to check out a different wreck, there were corpses there, too. This mission is dead in the water. [ She winces at her own words. ] ...literally. And we are, too, if we don't get out. Well. You, at least. You've gotta get out of here.
[ Because Amy's already wet. She hasn't actually drank the water, but she is soaked through with rain, so, she's already assuming that whatever is going to happen to her now isn't going to be anything good. She turns her focus to the splintering wood above, and she uses her leg to scoot the glass frame over to Surge as it begins to crack open. ]
Use this to cover yourself so you don't get wet or uh, woody. This is gonna come down in a sec--
[ A small hole has formed, revealing muted sunlight; filtered by the heavy clouds above the island. Which means Surge needs to get under that glass, because all it's going to take is one more hard hit from Amy until their temporary roof caves on open and lets in water. ]
Get ready to go.
no subject
[ it's all moving too fast for her, she's staring at the hedgehog who seems to be putting herself behind everything. what does surge need to go first for? the tenrec looks at amy for a brief moment before looking at the location she's supposed to go through then down to the glass frame.
from the sound of things and what this girl is trying to do, the tenrec shakes her head. ]
No way, I'm not gunna be responsible for your stupidity!
[ the only one she's responsible for is herself and kit, everyone else is a liability to her. that's why she crosses her arms to look away, and then down to see where the water levels are rising below. it'll drown them out if they don't get to moving, and surge will make the girl move. ]
You and your friends always choose the worst options ever, I can get out, you go first.
[ amy doesn't know, but surge is capable, not as pathetic as she was the first few times they've met in person. it's why she's confident that she doesn't need this at all. ]
no subject
[ Amy pokes a hole through the wood above, and then hanks the end of her hammer back out, repeating the process until the hole gets bigger and bigger. Big enough to where Surge and her glass frame can get out, at least. She pauses mid-hit to look back over at the other girl. ]
You're not responsible for me period.
[ As she pulls her hammer back down the last time, she squints up at the cloudy sky above, before she looks back at Surge for a moment. ]
I told you, I'm not going with you. I'm staying.
[ She means that, too. She glances back down at the rising water, noticing the family is stumbling around beneath them, all of them... except for the eyes that peer up at them from the depths below. Way more than just one pair; they're watching, waiting for the water to rise so they can come and get their prey and drag them back down. One of the smaller, child like corpses is already pulling itself onto the table Surge had been standing up on, its water logged, yellow eyes staring up at the two intently. ]
I don't know what's happening, but if I'm going to turn into that, [ She jerks a thumb down to the horrors lurking beneath them. ] I'd rather do it here and far away from you or anyone else, the last thing you need is to get hurt, and I don't want to be responsible for that either, thanks.
no subject
[ is she dumb, does she want to die? turn into that? who says she's going to become that at all? it's enough to irritate surge, the girl staring at the hedgehog trying to find it in the look the other has in her eyes why. what does it matter if she gets hurt, it's not like amy should care about that since all her friends do is try and hurt surge. ]
You have to be, get you fill of hurting me now free! You're used to this, what's stopping you!? So come the hell on, you go through and I'll find my own way out.
[ why does surge want her to leave, well, like before. she doesn't want to be the blame that everyone points fingers at. she gets enough of that already, and then kit will be blamed by proxy all because of the water issue she's suffering from. the tenrec takes a step closer towards the girl. ]
I know you hate taking responsibility.
[ as much as surge has complained, has blamed them, it's only fair that she should. what gives amy the right to avoid this too? she can hear the cry of a child, then a giggle, and when she peers down from where she came before there's a child with the umbilical cord still attached, rotted and in various colors.
it calls for its mother, reaching up hoping to get closer. ]
no subject
[ This girl doesn't listen, does she? How many times does she have to repeat herself? It's getting old, and it's getting old quick. ]
Please listen to me. I don't WANT to hurt you, I don't WANT to turn into that, and I don't want to combine those two things and hurt you if that does happen. I'm going to leave, but after you do and after you get far enough away from me just in case something happens. Anyways, shouldn't you be happy? If the worst case scenario does happen, you'd be rid of me for good. That's what you want anyways, isn't it?
[ Amy also looks down, casting the undead child an extremely tired look. She feels bad still for this kid, these people... but she doesn't feel bad enough not to take her hammer and casually reach down and shove that kid right off the table and back into the water. ]
Nope. You stay right there, kid.
[ She pulls her hammer back up and then looks back at Surge, who, for right now, is the more important priority. ]
If I don't turn into one of those things and we meet again, I want to know your story. I want to try and understand, because right now? I feel extremely out of the loop when it comes to your and your friend. When I told you before that you and I had never met, I wasn't lying. So, if we meet again after this, I want to know everything, and I want to hear it from you. Not Sonic, not Tails, you.
[ She looks back up at the hole she made, before she wearily gestures at it. ]
You need to get going. I'll follow after once you're at a safe distance, but you gotta go.

[ surge's voice is sharp, raising from what it was before, any sorrow that was in her voice is mixed with anger and displeasure. she's shaking at the prospect of how dare anyone tell her what to do. she's tired of it. she's sick to her stomach. ]
All you all do is tell me what I should be doing. Who I can't hurt, who hasn't hurt me. How dare you tell me to leave when you're going to try and die here!? [ does amy take her for a fool, does she think that surge isn't smart? as hard as life has been, she knows when people are making suicidal decisions, her entire life has been that decision within itself. ]
You're STUPID. I HATE YOU.
[ how many times has she told amy these exact words, maybe it's easy to hate. it always have been, during his manipulation, during her moments of realization, it's simply that it's able to condense her anger and insecurity somewhere that isn't happiness. she doesn't know why this specific person always manages to do something wrong to upset her, it's not as bad as sonic because she can keep some conversation, but amy always knows what to say to tap into that hate of hers. ]
Don't tell me what I want, I know what I want!
[ the crying child that rises with the water below, how it makes it up to the cracks, inflated flesh of an arm thumping onto the worn wood by surge's foot. water drips, the weather outside only becoming harsher as the wind picks up. surge lifts her foot, and as the child's head comes up, the tenrec's shoe comes down, crushing the creature with a nasty pop that stains her pants and splashes red and black onto the floor.
a flash of light covers her body, white and blue sparks starts to circle around her as her body is unable to hold it in. the girl's eyes become brighter than ever before, nothing like amy saw before when they had dulled, this is like something is living wild within surge. she smacks her hands together, sparks shooting off and disappearing. it's like a machine that's close to exploding, but rather than smoke coming off of her, it's simply sparks as flashes of lights dance across the metal circles of her wrist.
the electricity manages to hit the water by their feet, popping and crackling loudly almost like a storm. there's reasons why she can't listen to amy, not only because no one tells surge what to do anymore, it's because there's something of a goal she's crafted ever since deciding to kill sonic. she'll end the cycle in her own way. surge steps forward, electricity bouncing off wildly now as a a current of it engulfs her inside body hiding her within a shame of blueish white.
if she wants to know about surge, then she has to play by surge's way. how dare she say that surge can explain herself, but also say in another breath how this is how surge will get rid of her. if surge kills her, it'll be by her own methods that she chooses herself. this isn't anything orchestrated by her, this isn't what she wants. don't lie to her, don't act like she wants to understand surge's pain if she's so keen on dying. ]
I WANT TO BE A HERO AND I'M NOT GUNNA LET YOU RUIN IT!
[ the metal piercings of her attire glow brighter than herself, indicating that the electricity must be tuning with this specific jewelry. in her eyes, the iris gains a zig-zag pattern that hangs off the edge, and the bumps along her bracelet eject like antennae, an electrical current lights up a bright blue as a massive strike of electricity leaves from surge's body and explodes directly onto amy's own body, considering she's wet from falling in the water and hasn't dried properly, the electrical flow swallows here easily.
whatever creatures are close to them are also damaged by the attack, their bodies kissed with electrical strikes and their bodies exploding upon impact. the surge manages to light up the area, a bright spark that depending on where people are placed can probably see from a distance. because this only lasts for so long, ejecting that much energy only results in all that surge has kept in herself leaves the girl empty, knees dropping to the ground as smoke wafts off of her, tears building in the corner of her eyes, until lids shut, the front of her face pitched black as she drops against the ground. ]

[ Seriously, HOW many times does Amy have to confess that? Every time she and Surge come face to face, it's the same thing over and over again. The arguments, the yelling. It's not pleasant for either party involved, which is why Amy has done her damn best to avoid the tenrec the last several days. She legitimately doesn't know how to deal with Surge, and that's because she knows next to nothing about the other girl.
And here it comes again, the 'you're stupid, I hate you' line. It doesn't upset Amy anymore, not like it had the first few times. She's used to it from Surge now and has come to honestly expect it. So when it finally comes, the pink hedgehog simply closes her eyes. ]
I know you do, I know. I'm sorry you feel that way, Surge.
[ The other girl is more agitated than she's ever seen her, though. Her eyes flick back to the green girl, watching in both amazement and confusion as sparks of electricity begin to build not only around her, but ON her. That's a new trick, one she's not seen Surge use before -- including her eyes. Huh. ]
H-Hey, no one is trying to--!
[ 'take that away from you' is what she wants to end it with. But she can't. She literally can't even speak, because the electricity that had been crawling off of Surge sparks and ignites, and all Amy can see is white. It hurts; it hurts a LOT but after a few seconds she goes numb, and everything goes black. Amy slumps, unconscious -- the last thing she thinks she can hear is another thump. But who knows. ]

he would recognize that flash of light anywhere—a jolt of white, almost bluish electricity that struck through the sky like lightning. whatever he was doing before doesn't matter. in an instant, his hydro-coil tails are pushing him towards his destination.
what's left of the babies has been torn apart by the overcharge, and it doesn't take long for kit to come across two unconscious bodies.
naturally, the green one is the one he approaches first, picking up surge with a shaky voice. ]
Surge—Surge, are you okay?
[ if she doesn't answer, he'll leave here and now. ]

Get her... out... I'll ...fine...
[ surge will be fine, it just takes... time, but it hurts to move. the water below is still building up, but not as fast as it was... perhaps the creatures here were causing the water to move at a quick pace? ]

it isn't difficult to leave the area with kit's skills in consideration, the water bending away where they pass. it's only when he and surge are leaving the location, amy left resting on the doorstep, that kit pulls out his shellphone. ]
