Not Sure You'll Open the Door
Who: Roxas and you
Status: Open
Where: Everywhere! It's fun with rifts time!
What: Sometimes you've had a rough couple of months. Sometimes you just need a win. Sometimes you try to fight a giant feral hog and fall into a rift. Sometimes finding your way home is a little hard because the rifts like you. Sometimes life be like that.
Warnings: Will be updated if necessary
[It feels like he's been falling for a long time. It's a familiar sensation in a way. He's fallen before, through dark like this. Somewhere he can make out the form of the Boss Hog he was fighting. But it's too far away to do anything about now. Now all he can really do, is fall.]
A - Emerald Hill Zone
[His landing is not the smoothest, and probably a little dangerous since he's in the middle of an empty stretch of road. But when it comes to roads like this, they aren't that empty for long. He spots it out of the corner of his eye, the approaching objects and only makes it off the road in the nick of time as they speed past. He watches several more speed past in wonder until finally, things are quiet once again and it's safe to stand up.
He looks at the road, scrutinizing it.]
Was that...a race?
[He walks back along the road in the opposite direction from where he saw the racers coming from, and eventually the starting line appears. It's a bit confusing, since it's very much not where he was and it's a little hard to re-orient yourself.
But he's here.]
So, do you run it? Or is there a car or something?
Tara-Tam Deepcroft
[Roxas can't say that he likes this place very much.
It's quiet, almost too quiet, and he's seen the shambling corpses of paladins wandering around. He does his best to avoid those. But zombies are better than ghosts at least. Zombies he can do something about. Ghosts...well, it's hard to swing a sword at a ghost, you know?
Exploring this place though, there's a sense of history that Roxas is trying to understand. The Paladins haven't exactly proven themselves to be the nicest people, but this monastery suggests otherwise. That there is a history of honour and goodness and the things they said they stood for. And maybe that bolsters him a little bit.
He finds himself in what might have been a library once, and maybe there's a book or something that will give him more information about this place. But that would require a lot of searching. And it's hard to do that with books and shelves strewn all over.
It's not much, but he can at least start picking the books up, and maybe fixing up that shelf.]
Island Sanctuary
[Sometimes you race, sometimes you explore abandoned monasteries, and sometimes you go pick up rocks in the woods.
But right now, Roxas has a bit of a problem.
Collecting things is easy. It's easy to go into the woods and find things. He's good at that. He's got several good piles of things in this clearing.
The problem is more a physical one. He is just one boy, with two arms, and while he's got a very good attack modifier that doesn't exactly help when you have to carry a pile of stones and a pile of wood back to town.
So he sits on a log, staring at his piles, glaring really, and sighs.]
I should have brought a cart.
Wildcard
[Open to any and all other shenanigans. Roxas is kind of falling through rifts at the moment so he can be anywhere he needs to be. And maybe a Boss Hog will show up as well, who knows? He's also got a camera, if anyone wants to take a selfie for the Eltrut Snaps task. Additional plotting can be done at

[ surprise, a great tenrec will be the one to explain what's going on here without really explaining because she doesn't want to do that. what she wants to do is stare at the other, brow raised in confusion of why did he come here if not to race? maybe he's nervous and has a feeling he's going to lose.
with her arms crossed, she looks the kid up and down then at his legs. she doubts he's getting far with those, but maybe he can impress her which is hard for many to do. ]
You run it, unless you wanna be a loser and watch from the outside.
[ the loser's choice as well, but still a choice. however, that won't stop surge from suggesting the obvious, especially with one race about to wrap up, and another about to start. ]
Are you gunna race me or keep searching for excuses?
no subject
I just got here! I don't know what kind of race it is! Like, on foot or do you use a car?
I'll make a decision once I know.
no subject
[ those with eyes to see will note there is nothing that resembles one car. there's death traps, jumps that doesn't seem possible, and even vines to swing from to reach other ways. ]
no subject
Huh, guess not.
[Well, that's going to make things a little more difficult, but he can give it a shot.]
I suppose I could give it a try.
no subject
[ they can't join the race unless they're standing right behind it, and if they're willing to do this then surge'll help.
getting behind roxas, the tenrec starts to push him forward. ]
no subject
Wait! Isn't there a place to look at the course first? I just got here!
no subject
[ they should tackle what comes. ]
no subject
[He shakes his head and slaps his cheeks.]
I wasn't expecting to run a race today!
no subject
[ she's going to stand there and look at him. ]
How long does it take for you to get ready.

Island Sanctuary
[Moroha might just be exploring and passing by but its been a sight to see the blond sitting down and just staring daggers into piles of wood and stone. She only just got here so she's not sure what the deal is with it.
Her hands naturally go to her hips as Kirara gives a soft mew from a comfortable spot on her shoulder]
Did you stub your toe on one of the piles or somethin'?
no subject
[He sighs. It is unfortunate that glaring really hasn't done anything. It would make life a lot easier if it did.]
I just don't really have a way to transport this all to town.
no subject
You don't got like a cart or anything like that? You might have to drag it one by one then.
[But that would take forever.]
no subject
[That's why he was glaring, but unfortunately, that method did not make the material grow legs and walk back to the village.]
I really don't want to drag it all though.
[That would suck so much.]
Wildcard - Eltrut Snaps
Woah!!
[Furret and Hydrapple, who Kieran had been trying to take a photo of, let out surprised sounds as Roxas falls on top of them. Kieran hurries over, eyes wide.]
Roxas?? What're you doin' here??
no subject
[It takes Roxas a moment to figure out where he is. Falling through the rifts is a very disorienting experience and he's also trying to track where he was.]
Kieran?
Where am I?
no subject
[Specifically, Roxas is in the park, on top of Furret and Hydrapple. Furret squeaks and squirms to get out from under Roxas, while Hydrapple... oh, Roxas might have some sticky syrup stuck to his clothes now. Oops.]
But where'd you come from? You just appeared outta nowhere!
no subject
The...the rifts! I've been falling through them.
And, I guess I ended up here. This time.
You said we're on Eltrut?
no subject
Y-Yeah! We're on Eltrut right now...
[Kieran moves to help Roxas up off of his Pokemon. Furret chatters and looks over Roxas to see if he's ok.]
Aw man, you too?? You're the second person I've seen gettin' messed up by them!
no subject
Yeah, I think it was after I fell into it after fighting the big hog.
Haven't really been able to stop.
Though it's kinda nice to know it's not just me.
I think.
no subject
[He remembered the crew considering if the hogs had a boss, but he hadn’t seen it himself. The reason he’s even here right now is because he thought they had thinned the hogs enough for a bit of a break, but apparently not.]
Yeah, Mr. Azul got hit by one of ‘em too. I thought it was somethin’ casting Teleport on people, but it might be somethin’ else.
no subject
[Probably mad. Somewhere. Whoops.]
It's not really like, teleporting. More like. Falling.

[Not that Beat would actually offer his board for something as heavy as these, but he makes the joke anyway as he slaps a hand on Roxas' shoulder. Beat may not have a cart, but he can try to help with Roxas' problem.]
It's like you an' me's always cleanin' stuff up, yo.
no subject
[Having an island is a lot of work after all.]
I dunno if my skateboard would help here. Though, I still have to get a new one.
no subject
[Which, while they have made some progress on it, still needs to be spruce up before it could even be considered fully-functional. In between helping out with quest from the MANTA board and just general upkeep of the island, it was hard to find time for the skatepark. Beat takes a mental note to work on that again soon.]
Ain't no cart 'round here, but there's gotta be somethin' we can use to carry stuff.
[Beat looks around the area for exactly that.]
These leaves ain't gonna do much, huh?
[Large as they are, they would probably rip from the sheer weight of the things Roxas has gathered.]
no subject
[It would be nice. Especially if he didn't have rifts and brands all that to deal with. Just something easy. Or at least, straightforward.]
Not really, unless we made a bunch of smaller trips. But that would take a long time.
I don't really want to have to go all the way back to the village.
