What: Benedikta tries to fix up the chocobo stables that she broke last month, and she also gets a new visitor through the rifts.

[ Oh good, clear directions. Hawks is all to happy to hop to that and do as she asks. ]

Preening helps a lot, but that's kinda inappropriate if you aren't close to someone like that. Not much else to do but wait it out.

[garudas]

I certainly did not offer to do so for them.

[She laughs and twists that big post into the dirt, and one of the chocobos comes over to watch them, curious, and tries to dig its feet into this little hole that she's created before she has to shoo them away. The bird snips its beak at her in return and moves over to Hawks's side instead.]

Though I do have to ask—do you understand them at all?

I don't blame you, if you do it properly it can take close to two hours. For mine anyway.

[ His publicist team does not have the patience for that. ]

Ummm, well, probably kind of? It's not like talking to someone, birdsong is kinda like based on a general vibe rather than a language. [ That's his interpretation of it, at least. ]

[garudas]

[She arches a brow at him.]

... I suppose that you have not met the toucans on the island of Latrommi, or spoken with the gulls that like to hover around the island in an attempt to steal the food for the gryphons.

[She holds the post in place while he digs, nudging the chocobo away with her foot when she starts to shove dirt in there as well.]

While some might consider it vibes, I have managed to develop my wind magic to allow me to understand them. Though, I oftentimes find that more a curse than a blessing.

That's pretty cool, I could see how that would be handy. I don't know if that's something I could learn, or would've I guess. I guess I just get sense of what they want.

[ Maybe better than most people but not perfect. Talking with birds never came up. ]

[She hums at that.]

Well, if you've any bird friends who are looking for a place to roost, then do let them know that I am looking on building several homes for them here.

[With the post now in the dirt, Benedikta claps the dirt from her hands. Only three more to go, but—]

The chocobos are getting a touch restless, if you would like to help feed.

[velocityraptor]

If I can make some, I'll let them know. [ He doesn't have any right now, but that doesn't mean anything. No one knows what can happen in the future. He's very fond of bird friends. ]

I can take care of that. The chocobos don't seem to mind me too much. I volunteer at the Conservatory too, but I'm always worried about freaking out the animals.

[She laughs softly at that.]

The chocobos are quite resilient, brave, and stubborn... but is it the wings that you fear might scare them?
