Try not to judge my writing too harshly, my brother was always the academic between us.

[ Said with a small shrug and a smile that quickly falters at what's said next. ]

I'm sorry to hear that, about your world I mean. [ Her own back stiffens and she gives a look that's much more akin to understanding than sympathy. ] If this place really is free from games men play, I may want to stay here myself. [ Though she'd feel...guilty for leaving behind her own duties. But a place where she could just be herself, free from even the subtle manipulations of her own brothers? Well, it might be nice. ]

[That feather gets fastened to the garland, the string wrapping around the spine several times until it's secured, and she lets her fingers linger on it for a second longer, thoughtful.]

I suppose there is no escape from that, is there? I often find myself feeling those same things here, too. Have taken those matters into my own hands, however. Far easier to do here than it was there, so I suppose that is just another tick in favour.

Constantly. I prefer to not spend too much time thinking of the times I've been used by some man as nothing more than a pawn. Or a weapon. [ There's a bitterness in her tone that mixes with a sadness she doesn't particularly like hearing. So, she does the logical thing and waves a hand dismissively and turns to put a few feathers on. ]

It feels there really isn't an escape. But it's nice to think it's easier to take matters into ones hands here. [ She hesitates for a moment, mouth opening before she ultimately says something again ] If you ever want to talk, I hear I'm a good listener.
