Who: Espio & YOU! Status: Open unless otherwise specified! Where: Don't worry about it What: Catch-all for Manta Board prompts and other shenanigans Warnings: Surge
[This is a new one for Espio; he's explored many skills in his young life, but never something like glass blowing. This is a magical one no less, and it'll be interesting to see what ends up being created from their efforts.]
I'm curious to see what ends up forming for me.
And you, of course. What do you suppose it will be?
[Graffiti style isn't something that Espio meshes too well with, but he can make his skills work with the paints provided to him.
So, at the moment, he's at the tail end of working on a mural, splash of colors to depict a sunset upon the ocean waves. Is it realistic? No, but that's not the point. Artistic expression can mean many things, after all.]
[ From his left side, comes the gasp of one Amy Rose, who has been quietly working on her own thing for a little over an hour now. Granted, her thing is more or less a bunch of rainbow colored trees and stick figures of people and attempts to draw her own friends with cute little happy faces, but they're definitely not what Espio has created. ]
[ Amy waves with her free hand, bouncing happily on the balls of her feet, a bright, cheerful smile plastered onto her face as per usual. ]
Thank you! I really like yours too! Yours is so vibrant and perfect!
[ Her gaze sliiiiides back over to her own, and compared to his? Can't hold a birthday candle to his masterpiece. They're pretty stick figure looking, but at least he's guessed correctly. ]
Still, Espio is keen to be encouraging as he can, which is easy because it's just saying what he does really think of her painting.]
Bear in mind my skills come from intense training. I fully believe you are able to accomplish whatever you wish given the same amount of time and dedication.
After all, you already have the heart for it. That, I can see in everything you do.
[This is not the first time that he as a detective has been asked to do a search and find. Even if it's means searching and finding ingredients for some kind of magical ink. Does it pay well? Ehhh non-committal handwavey motion, but it's some cool loot for him to use later. Mostly to show off but don't worry about it!
Besides, it's kind of cathartic to go digging. He rather enjoys gardening, so he takes his time even as dirt gets everywhere and there are little bugs crawling out. That's landscaping, baby.]
Are you in need of a shovel or trowel?
[He's a chameleon prepared. Ready to go, if you will.]
[Quietly, Espio works to incorporate the bones into his lantern, concentrating at keeping its integrity while also honoring the lost. It is a tricky thing, but he does sincerely want to make sure it accomplishes its intent.]
I have not made one of these in awhile. Still, I hope it brings peace to those hurt, and to those gone.
[He considers, then glances over at the closest person who may or may not be struggling with their build--]
[ espio may be punctual, surge is not. she had been busy and her business shows through the simple fact that she has not arrived in two hours. no, not even three. it's been four whole hours of her being missing in action that is sort of worrisome! ... or maybe not, it's surge, she follows no one's rules but her own, and even those tend to change from time to time.
it's going on five hours now, the tenrec has yet to show herself and it's not like she's forgotten how to make it home... probably, maybe. all it is is a waiting game! besides, a new world has so much for her to explore, she could have just got caught up somewhere, even if this is the case...
[Somehow, Espio isn't surprised that it's taking this long, but he's still disappointed anyway. An hour or two? Unsurprising. More than that? Girl what you doingbesides getting fed cake by Darin
It's mostly okay, because he ends up spending that time meditating in their now mold-free home and hoping he doesn't have permanent lung damage. That'd be pretty inconvenient.
On hour five is about when he does decide to check in with a message.]
Will you please confirm that you are physically unharmed and safe?
[Since for all that he does want his shamisen back, that is more important.]
[ mind your business, she is a woman with womanly things to do, can a girl not enjoy herself? to think she can't be somewhere where she isn't stuffing her face, how could espio think so lowly of her?
that said, his text message will allow him to hear an annoying ringtone beeping outside his room, maybe a few rooms over until it stops.
...
she did not need her shellphone where she was going!
the home is very nice, there's no more mold, it's free of that one smell. espio might hear something in another room smacking its jaws together but that could be ghosts too, dwbi. ]
[When he hears the shellphone, it earns a raised brow. When there is the sound of eating in another room, his facial expression exactly matches this icon. Please enjoy that.
IT AIN'T GHOSTS, this place isn't haunted yet! Surely! So, Espio stands to approach the door to the room, opening it.
besides, she may not have her phone, but what is there is a little plant pot in the corner of a room, as well as wallpaper that has been ripped off from that same location. there's nothing peeking out of it...
[The ignominy of it all. To think that he, the Great Dr. Ivo Robotnik, would be reduced to burgling the nest of a fire serpent for an egg. It's bad enough that new people are coming to learn of his moniker, but if he's caught, the association will be permanent. But the temptation was far too great. A rare creature's egg like this not only would make enough money to fund some more upgrades to his base, but to think of what he could learn of the magic of the creatures of this world? Every bit of knowledge helps when it comes to understanding the Leviathans.]
[With the people of Elah in disarray after the departure of their guardian, now was the perfect time to take advantage of the gaps in the Paladins' guards. Hopefully, he won't run into any problems.]
[Fortunately, Eggman had a plan. For many of the paladins stalking the area, he merely passed himself off as a simple researcher. Why, he'd foregone his usual bright red coat for a more common researcher's lab coat. And yes, he even has a badge he so cleverly forged. That's why one "Dr. Julian Kintobor" was able to make his way so deep into the serpent's nest.]
[And so he stands at the foot of a large, golden heap with a rather sizeable egg nestled in the center. Heavens knows where the parent is, probably out foraging or...whatever it is they do. He doesn't care. All he wants is that egg.]
[A few quick airborne keystrokes generates a small field from his hand, which lifts the egg from its spot and reels it in towards a fire gem powered containment unit, meant to keep the egg nice and toasty.]
Honestly, people complain about the price of eggs nowadays, but I find them to be a steal.
[For Espio's part, he's been spending the time defending the nest from various creatures and even thieves from their interest in preying. It's been difficult work, especially in the heat of things. Though he has been diligent in his defenses, that doesn't mean all of the Paladins are -- and certainly not all of them will recognize the doctor for who he is.
That mustache stands out, and out of the corner of his eye he spots Eggman living up to his moniker.]
Will nothing stop you from your acts of evil? [Espio sounds genuinely vexed, throwing a shuriken at Eggman's face.]
[Eggman yelps and makes a few decisive gestures— visible keystrokes with his hand on reflex, and the shuriken halts in mid-air. Thankfully, Eggman thought to use some of those elemental gems to create a powerful magnet in his hands, among some other useful tools.]
Oh, I'm sorry, I wasn't aware you were with child. Mazel tov! And here I didn't bring a gift for the baby!

PAINT THE TOWN ROYGBIV

Hm. I suppose it will do...
[Don't be fooled, he isn't humble at all]

Whoa-ho-hoaaaa! Now that is one killer colorful wave! Almost makes the ocean look bearable!
[ ... she hates the ocean. this is a compliment. ]

Hello, Della.
Not a fan of the ocean? I can imagine this world is quite challenging to you. Nonetheless, I appreciate your commentary.

[ She says with UTTER LOATHING in her voice, but easily goes back into her usual cheerfulness with the next breath. ]
But I can still appreciate good colors! It's way better than my stuff!

You flatter me. Painting is a skill of diligence, one deeply focused on during much of my training when I was younger.
[and he had to be the BEST AT IT]
May I ask about your opinion of the ocean?

[Directly at the nest.]
