...The shenanigans of yesterday aside, the day has come, not nearly soon enough for Kaveh's tastes. Today is their day of joy and celebration, and despite the hiccups, the celebration goes on just as schedule.
Of course, aside from the vows of the happy couple, there's buffet tables laden with drinks, desserts, and an astonishing assortment of grilled meats. There is a cake, magnificent in all it's glory, with a...strange wedding topper? Don't worry about that.
The alchohol is flowing freely, and music is being played should people wish to dance the evening away on beautiful Latrommi. And for people who showed up with a date...
Kaveh loaded Mehrak with a great many bouquets. Which she will be cheerfully chucking into the crowd at random, complete with merry beeping. Think fast, she's got some force on her.
It's a beautiful day for a wedding.

The Vows - Closed to Alhaitham
To say Kaveh's been nervous in the last 48 hours--especially given the kidnapping attempt--would be perhaps an understatement. It is more accurate to say it is a miracle he is not a blubbering wreck of a man. And who could blame him? Eight months ago he was still getting used to the idea Alhaitham did not, actually, hate him and wanted him gone. And now...
He's checked and rechecked himself in the mirror maybe three dozen times. Adjusted his clothes. Wondered if the broad open back of his wedding attire was too much. Fiddled with his vision, his sleeves, the bracelets covering his forearms, his earrings, the long winged tails of his shirt...Stared at his henna and tried not to cry.
But now it's time. He's standing under a flowered arch, bearing Latrommi's tropical flowers and a great deal of padisarah and sumeru roses. He holds a similar bouquet in his hands--he's fidgeting with that, too--with the addition of a few mourning flowers. He's here. He's waiting.
...He's getting married today.]

To say that he isn't nervous would be a lie, but Alhaitham has never once allowed his nerves to get in the way of something that he desires, and this, more than anything else, is one thing that he would never allow himself to miss. On that night in the dim lighting of Lambad's Taven back in Sumeru, when he'd seen the way Kaveh brought himself so close to ruin, he'd already told himself then to never let the other go again. Back then it'd been a way to make up for the mistake that he'd made, a fallacy from assumptions that blinded him from the things that he'd never seen before. He had to relearn the shape that his senior now took, figure out things both old and new, of what has changed and what remained the same.
Ultimately, though, it has been for the better. The learning curve in understanding Kaveh had undoubtedly ben steeper than before, but what he got out of it are things that he would have never dreamed of. Sincerity, gratitude, warmth... and perhaps the most surprising of all, love.
He has never thought of himself as somebody above such feelings, but he'd accepted a long time ago that it is something that would perhaps never happen to him. How could it, after all, when he couldn't even hold onto the one person who he'd actually considered a friend? The truth as he understood it then had already been set in front of him, and he had no reason to believe otherwise; they were simply the facts as he knew them, and he couldn't see it being changed anytime soon.
Strange now, to think how all of that had changed in the span of less than a year.
But just as how rediscovering Kaveh had turned out for the better, the same could also be said for this as well. Through Kaveh he has learned more about himself, the parts of him he didn't know could exist until he learned to recognize them through Kaveh, and in turn the new ways in which he could interact with the world around him, as subtle as they might be. Said subtlety is still more than enough to make all the difference, and now... well.
Now, everything he has learned and come to understand has culminated on this perfect, lovely day; from the sight of Kaveh standing under the flowered arch to the loud thumping of his own heart in his chest as Alhaitham walks down the path laid out for him by a carpet, the surface already scattered with a multitude of petals. A couple more of them rain down from who knows where as he walks down that last bit of distance that separates him from his senior.
On the outside those few steps are nothing much at all, but even Alhaitham would be a fool to not feel the weight of them as he takes them one after another, the thumping of his heart growing ever louder with each step taken. But still he continues to walk without allowing himself to falter, making all the way over to where Kaveh is waiting for him. He'd already been purposefully catching his senior's gaze as soon as he can, but his staring only grows all the more intense as the distance between them gets shorter—and now that they're right before one another its clear to see that Alhaitham is all but entranced by the sight of his soon to be husband.]
Kaveh. [He murmurs without any prompting, reaching out to try and take his senior's hands despite the script having not gotten to that part yet. But its impossible to keep such things in mind when he has such a dazzling sight right in front of him.]

[Kaveh murmurs the name, eyes wide and already glistening, and he doesn't quite bring himself to pull his hands away either, except to pat at his pockets once he remembers what they're supposed to be doing. Mehrak is holding the rings, but there's a small piece of paper tucked in somewhere...his hands are shaking a little, when he finds it.]
...I had to write it all out beforehand, or I'd never be able to keep my words straight right now.
[It's important, now, today of all days, that Kaveh says exactly what he means to.]

Couple's Reception
...Of course, one does so at their own risk. Kaveh's still crying.
ooc: this is for people who want to congratulate them together! Most of the threads will therefore involve both of them. ]

Mumbling to himself, he just stood there with two bags in his hand and just....wondering what he should say to them.
Especially when Kaveh was crying.]

[Despite the tears, Kaveh is beaming--just like how his anger was beyond anything anyone had seen yesterday, today Kaveh's smiles are brighter and bigger than any of his previous ones.]
You made it...I'm glad.

Congrats. [ And here's a line she usually hears is supposed to be said at weddings— ] May the Amber Lord preserve your union.
[ She doesn't worship Qlipoth or anything, but it makes sense to wish them well like this, right? Wait, wouldn't it make sense to wish blessings of the Harmony too? But she hasn't seen any of that online... maybe it's because the IPC's everywhere pushing Preservation propaganda. Oh well. Whatever. ]

[Kaveh blinks a bit, and looks at Alhaitham--has he heard of this? But he does smile all the same at Stelle, even with his eyes still puffy.]
Thank you.

[Surprisingly, all the vows and I-love-yous and all that mushy-gushy lovey-dovey crap didn't twist Ranma's stomach to a Gordian Knot. Snarking aside, Ranma's actually trying to be cordial given the big deal. Even made himself presentable for the special occasion. Are you proud of him dad?]
Congrats. You two deserve each other. [For better or for worse, Ranma hasn't the faintest idea.] Hope you guys have a long, prosperous life together.

[Kaveh laughs, unashamed of the tears for once, even if he's still wiping at his face.]
Thank you, Ranma.

Goodness, Kaveh! You don't want red eyes for the photos, do you?
[Of course, he says it good-naturedly, and pulls out a colourful handkerchief from seemingly nowhere to offer it to Kaveh.]
Congratulations, you two. It makes me quite happy to see you two finally officially together!
[Prior teasing aside, he does mean his words.]

I already have red eyes, Lyney, who will notice? It's a good thing I found waterproof eyeliner.

Thank you.

Your Victorian son is here and still confused
Still, Sherlock's dressed well for the occasion and even brought a gift wrapped in simple brown paper. Within the simple box are two glass tops: one for Kaveh in Alhaitham's colors and one for Alhaitham in Kaveh's colors. Each is tied with a ribbon and handwritten paper tag to show which belongs to which. ]
You said there was no need for gifts, but I overheard something about Kaveh wanting tops and happened to see those. Consider it a payment for your... assistance in my case study if you must.
[ For all of Sherlock's smarts and deduction... his knowledge is highly specialized. He's still very ignorant of things of a romantic and carnal nature to an almost hilarious degree. What he heard in passing from people who shall remain nameless had nothing to do with spinning tops. ]

The ceremony deserved tears, though. It was beautiful and really in a world full of drunken and not-so-drunken pirates, the fact that love still makes it way through is a testament to its strength. That said, she makes her red and puffy eye self way over to the happy and seemingly attached to the face couple with wrapped gifts in her hand.]
Congratulations, again, you two.
[For Alhaitham, she holds out a square shaped item that should be easy to guess what it is considering her conversation with Kaveh. Her only hope is that it meets Alhaitham's approval.]
And this... [She turns to Kaveh, handing him something rectangular and thinner in its thickness.] ...for you.
[A pause as she considers his possible response.]
I will brook no arguments.

Heizou
[Despite all the ways he'd teased Kaveh about potentially missing the wedding, Heizou is, in fact, there right from the beginning. He's even kind of dressed up for the occassion. It helped that there are certain other companions of his that would also not have let him skip it. Though for the ceremony he does try to sit somewhere that might make it harder for him to be seen by the happy couple, saying that it's for their sake as much as his own. He's never been to a wedding like this, though. Honestly... he's not sure he's ever been to any wedding before.
As the ceremony continues, though, he decides that it's nice. He's happy for Kaveh and Alhaitham, and that's what counts the most, right?]
@ the Reception
[With the reception coming into full swing it's even easier to let himself be lost among the guests, especially while those he'd call his friends are busy doing their own things. For the most part he stays at his seat, keeping his plate full of food and a glass of wine to with it. When he isn't sitting and eating, he tries to keep to the sidelines as usual. And all the while he just watches the people around him as he's prone to do, observing the celebration with a calm little smile on his face.
Feel free to sidle up and bother him. :3]

Maybe Kaveh just programmed her to come say hi to wallflowers? Yeah, that must be it, nothing nefarious here.]
