[Katsuki is lounging around in the living room when Izuku approaches him. He notes the hands behind Izuku's back and the nervous smile.]

...Depends what you're about to ask, nerd. What's up?

It's- It's nothing special.

[Izuku pretends to give a small shrug and then he pulls out a few bottles of nail polish that he had been holding behind his back.]

I was wondering if you would like to paint ... each other's nails? [He quickly adds,] It's alright if you don't want to! I was only thinking that it might be fun to do. I've seen a lot of other boys wearing nail polish around Eltrut and it seems like it's part of the fashion here. Maybe it has something to do with pirates... But I ... I was thinking it might look good on you.

[It'll totally look good on Katsuki.]

[Katsuki never would have guessed nail polish was the answer to what was behind Izuku's back. He has seen men wearing nail polish around. And besides, he's comfortable with his masculinity.

He sits up from where he's lounging and stares at the nail polish for a moment, arms resting on his knees as he leans forward.]

If I agree, you better be able to do it with a steady hand.

[Well, that's not a no! Izuku beams.]

Think of it as training, Kacchan! You need a strong and steady hand to be able to paint neatly!

[He smiles...!!!]

[There. That worked exactly how he had hoped. Katsuki will never know that Izuku intended that exactly.]

[He's smiling again and he comes to sit down next to Katsuki. He takes out the bottle of green first. He takes Katsuki's first hand and ponders how to start... Izuku's gentle as he starts to slowly paint the pinky finger.]

[Katsuki sits still and watches Izuku work. Hey, he's getting his hand held. Who's really the winner here?

Why didn't you just say upfront you wanted me to wear your colors anyway?

[He has to admit the black polish would look very good on Katsuki too... But he's happy about the green.

Katsuki's question makes him slow down a bit. He tries not to jolt.]

I ... I didn't want to be obvious about it. That's all? Or if you thought it was uncool...

[Katsuki studies him.]

The nail polish or it being your colors?

[He wants to know what's going through Izuku's head.]

[Izuku looks back down at his work. He's really not sure why he feels shy. Maybe because he still wonders if this kind of thing would be lame in Katsuki's view even if Izuku wanted to do it.]

I wasn't sure if you wanted to do this. Or wear green.

[Katsuki mulls it over a moment before lifting the hand Izuku isn't working on, fingers sinking into green curls.]

I like green.

[Izuku's eyes flicker up to Katsuki.]

Do you like it enough to want to wear it like this for me?

I'm lettin' you paint 'em, right? Wouldn't let you if I hated it.

[He's sure Izuku knows that. But maybe he likes hearing it?]

You like that kind of thing, don't you? Having me wear your colors... it's kind of like you want it to be known that I'm yours, right?

[Maybe he likes hearing it a little bit. Maybe he likes it when Katsuki says things like that.]

That's... yes. That's what I wanted. [Getting called out like that. But Izuku likes how it makes his chest feel. Kind of like it's full of hot air.] Like our rings we picked... I think I just like knowing that you're carrying something that means us. And that you're mine...

[Something that means 'us'. He finds himself looking at the ring. It stays there on his right hand unless he needs to fight. He's been considering getting a chain for it. That way he won't have to take it off.]

[But Izuku has always been a bit possessive of him. Following. Clinging. It used to annoy him. But now...?]

The ring isn't enough? You need more?

[A chain for the rings is probably a better idea considering how much they fight with their hands. It would avoid damage that way.

Izuku's cheeks bloom with a blush. He focuses back on his work on Katsuki's nails.]

It's ... It's enough. But I don't mind... a little more.

[Maybe Izuku is a little greedy about this.]
