Welcome to the Test Drive Meme for escordvi! Anyone can participate in the test drive, regardless of invite eligibility. Just keep in mind that only those who have received invitations from the mods can actually reserve on October 25th and apply on November 1st. Our EMP/ATP can be found here.

For your toplevel, please include the following: Character Name | Canon | Armada Choice | TDM (IF TDMING). Current players can use the same header, just without the "TDM" label. We do require those who are TDMin'g to include the label so other players can distinguish between others.

For everyone's convenience, TDM threads can be carried over in game if you wish! If you are still unsure which armada to place your character, you can play it a bit loose and vague in the TDM and make retroactive changes if you carry over the threads. The log itself is set to cover the IC dates of October 11 for new arrivals to appear, and October 25th until the end of the month for the event itself. Characters will appear at random intervals during this time rather than all at once, so players have some more flexibility on how much more adjusted they are for someone else.

GETTING STARTED

This section can be timed for any time after October 11th until the end of the month, which includes during the current event. These prompts are to benefit those TDMing, but this portion can be handwaved instead and serve as a reference for players to know what their character will have experienced and learned on arrival.

STARTER SHIPS

There are two ships that serve as starting ships for each armada: Stormbringer for the Corsairs, and Royal Fortune for the Paladins. There are various ways new arrivals—or riftfarers as they will be called, among other creative names—will appear on or by these ships. The crews for both ships will also seem a bit odd to some, as it is a mix of humans and various animal folk, non-humans that look more animal than human. Some just look like large versions of their smaller counterparts. From birds, to seals, to even bears, there is no shortage of interesting faces and people on these ships.

🚪 Random room. It could be empty, filled with crates or supplies; down in the hull where the livestock are kept; have the luck to awaken in a bed...or the misfortune of that bed already occupied; somewhere in the kitchens; in the bathroom—any room! Now let's hope the doors can open or someone may have to try and ask for help. Or jump through the porthole if there is one and it's above water.
⛵ On deck. If not in the ship itself, another possible spot to wake up to is somewhere on the maindeck. If they're lucky, they're on the deck itself. More unfortunate souls may find themselves caught in the sails or netting, the crow's nest, or on the top of the masts. Someone should be able to help, right? Or catch.
🌊 In the water. The most unlucky sods will find themselves appearing in mid-air just past the ship and plummeting straight into the water. Good news, there's always someone on the lookout for such a thing and calls for help to throw a lifesaver get the rowboat will be made. Are there sharks? Well... ...Are there?

However the new riftfarers arrive, they will be poorly clothed, practically rags or loose uniforms depending on the ship. Fortunately, veteran crewmates will guide them, escorting them to a room with a strange typewriter in it. After typing their name, the typewriter will magically continue and type by itself at a fast pace until it dings and rolls out the paper. This paper will have the following information:

• Name and Shellphone ID (journalname)
• Armada (Corsair or Paladin, will match the starter ship)
• Cabin Number for their personal cabin on the starter ship
• Apartment Address for their personal address at their base armada location
• A basic map of the starting locations in Eltrut, including written directions (continued in the Eltrut section)
• A basic map of where they can find a chest with their original clothes and belongings (this will be different for every person and will be anywhere either on the starter ship or on Eltrut—players can be creative here).

After that, the crewmate will do their best to explain the basics of how they got here, what's going on, and what they'll need to do to live in Escordvi while they are here, giving them a small leather pouch with money. They will be reaching Eltrut soon, so the crewmate will suggest they look around, meet the others who have arrived. Even from their distance, they will be able to see the giant sea turtle that serves as Eltrut's leviathan.

ON ELTRUT

Once in Eltrut, the new riftfarers will be greeted by several birdfolk who will be happy to give tours to those who may need them. Otherwise, anyone is free to roam as they please and will have a map for the following main places they should visit.

🐚 Microshell. The first stop that is encouraged will be Microshell, the main store to acquire their own personal Shellphone. The paper they received on their starter ship will have their ID and the staff at the store will set them up, explaining how the device and the network works.
✒️ Inkwave, Tattoo Parlor. The next stop is Inkwave, a tattoo parlor run by a very burly but friendly octopus, Knistej. Here everyone receives their own unique magic tattoo, allowing anyone to cast specific single element spells and other magic. Note: tattoos are required before anyone will be able to use their original magical abilities.
📜 MANTA office. The final stop is the MANTA office, where all the request, mission, and task notices are posted. Each armada has their own branch office for armada specific notices as well. A great place to find jobs to earn some cash so they don't stay a hobo forever.

ELTRUT: FESTIVAL

Each year, during the month when the Ghoul's Moon rises, its reddish glow illuminating the waves like blood on water, the spirits of the dead gather at the edge of the tide and their spiritual energy reaches its peak. During this monthly period, spirits and ghosts seem to be most active, dancing and playing in the dark and searching for the last ship they will ride in their journey over the ocean to reach their final resting place. Spirits are powerful and energetic enough that are able to appear in their living corporeal forms and appear as living, breathing people. Or they are able to walk the earth as they once saw themselves. Even if some of their memories of those lost years might be hazy.

The Leviathans and surrounding islands are bright with festive colours and lights so that these spirits may find their way in the dark and shadows. Even Eltrut gets into the festive spirit, "shaking off" its shell to reveal a pumpkin form with a natural glow like a lantern. Celebrations are ripe with music, dancing and good old merriment to see them through.

This year’s Ghoul’s Moon celebrations includes a Farmer’s Market that is situated at the main pier. Locals, farmers, and merchants from near and far away have gathered to the market to sell their handmade goods for autumn, selling anything from fresh grown fruits and vegetables, to pickled jars of eggs, beans and beets. To dried moose jerky and cuts of fresh steaks and cured sausages and tasty cheeses. Don’t forget the homemade soaps, knitted hats and mittens, ribbons, jewels, weapons, fashion accessories and more! Riftfarers are also encouraged to take up their own booths and to sell their own goods and services to the festival goers as well!

🥤 Spooky boba challenge. One of the many market booths is holding a challenge to go along with their seasonal boba drinks (like pumpkin spice!). Several boba drinks are sold with floating pumpkin jellies, candy worms, bat-shaped tapioca pearls and ghost-shaped candies. The add-ons themselves are various random unknown flavours that might take the drinker by surprise. Some might taste like sour lemons, while another might taste like spicy chili peppers. If anyone can drink the entire boba without making a face, they’ll be rewarded with a coupon for a free boba with a very normal flavour.

🎃 Pumpkin collecting. One of the local pumpkin farmers has brought a boatload of pumpkins to the market for the season. But instead of just picking out what pumpkin to buy, the pumpkins have been scattered in a random pattern across a dark grassy patch. With only a few dim lanterns to help, try and collect as many pumpkins in the dark as needed. Just be careful not to trip on the various magical pumpkin vines in the patch that might try to trip others on purpose.

🍬 Candy treat exchange. There are various vendors selling all sorts of seasonal homemade candies and sweets. A little game has appeared between the vendors that if a candy or sweet is bought from one vendor that it should be traded with another person who bought from a different vendor. Buy some candy corns, milk chocolates or fruit lollipops and exchange them with friends to collect the whole set of candies available. And eat them all, too!

🐈‍ Black kitten spirits. The market is a bustling little zone that isn’t free from pesky Ghoul’s Moon spirits. A gaggle of mischievous black kitten spirits are haunting various booths and vendors, stealing items and scratching at things that aren’t theirs. They seem to be so small they fit in one hand, so they are hard to spot! The market vendors are asking others to keep a look-out for them. And to catch them with little wicker baskets, if possible!

🍏 Bunnyfish bobbing. One of the booths selling fresh apples is offering a little “apple" bobbing challenge with a twist! While blindfolded and handcuffed (it was a corsair’s idea), use only your mouth to catch a Bunnyfish bobbing in a bucket of freezing ice water. If a flopping Bunnyfish can be picked up, the vendor will offer an apple smothered in candy caramel and peanuts as a reward! Sweet-sour apples can be purchased by the basket as well.

🧴 Potions & lotions. A beauty guru has a special market booth where she is offering various potions and lotions for a price. These products are boasted to be mood enhancers. Including potions or topical lotions that will increase happiness, confidence or love. While other offer to enhance moods such as anger, sadness or hate. Because there might be someone out there who needs a potion like that. The effects of these products last for about twelve hours. For a little extra excitement, she can give you a potion or lotion at random. They’re also very hydrating!

While there are traditional festival game booths and food stalls scattered all through the main roads of Eltrut, there are special activities set up just outside of town available. A haunted corn maze out in the fields where the volunteers try to scare participants and the corn seems to shift and move to change the layout, but those who make it through will enjoy some corn ribs. Bubble races where participants go on a wild, tumbling ride down a giant hill while inside a giant bubble shaped either as pumpkins or skulls and referred to as "pubble" and "skubble" respectively. Try not to get popped early! Haunted hayrides for a thrilling adventure through the woods that end at an old haunted manor that will leave everyone screaming. And for a bit of a thirst quencher, try some Pumpkin Nog, which comes either with or without spiced rum, this alcoholic treat will warm up anyone with just a few sips.

On the night of the 31st, fireworks will go off to signal the end of the festival. Until then, it's an almost week-long festival for everyone to have fun and celebrate those who have passed.

NAUGHTILUST: MASQUERADE

On the evening of the 30th, the Naughtilust will steadily make its way over towards Eltrut and stop within ferryboat distance of Shellton. The two leviathans will greet each other with friendly accord, the Naughtilust presenting its friend with a large pumpkin shell filled with delicious treats for it to enjoy. All the shops, taverns, inns, brothels, and all entertainment services will be open all night long, and while the main target audience are adults, they do provide some "safe," family friendly entertainment for the younger crowd. Special dancers, musicians, and other entertainers line the streets on the Naughtilust to provide all kinds of delight.

However, the main highlight is the grand masquerade which is held at the Helice Palace, one of the largest and grandest buildings on the leviathan. As its name suggests, it is designed to fit the image of royalty, with large gardens, multiple ballrooms, grand halls, private and public terraces, and enough rooms to house any guest who may wish to spend the night (with a partner). Normally one would have to pay a hefty fee, but for the Ghoul's Moon, the sirens are opening it up for one grand fee of attending the masquerade and dressing one's best.

This year, the theme of the masquerade is Haunted Funeral Wedding. A strange theme that mixes the formality and dress of weddings, but with a side of macabre as it is implied it is a wedding after death. Those who participate will be required to wear formal wear that can be from modern to regency ballroom, but one' s entire appearance must have an "undead" look: ghostly, ghastly, bloody, zombie, mummy, etc. It can be as tasteful or as gruesome and hideous as they want. Wedding styled gowns are also allowed. Many boutiques will offer costumes either to rent or buy for those who need them. The masquerade itself is open to all, young and old, however what happens beyond the ballroom may require some adult supervision.

It's still the Naughtilust, after all.

🎭 Masked dance partners. While some may already have a dedicated partner, there is a special enchantment that will be cast on all masks that will mask one's identity. There will even be a portion where everyone will be matched up at random with a dance partner. With only dance skills and voice alone, dance the night away or enjoy a song or two with a stranger. Perhaps it will be a chance to find a new friend or a new romantic interest.

🍹 Drunk pirate. There is a truth and lies drinking game offered to drinking adults. For everyone participating, they must share one random unique fact about themselves and the others must decide if the fact is the truth or a lie. If the guesser is wrong, they have to take a shot of straight coconut vodka. Start getting to know each other and start getting drunk like good pirates do!

🥇 Costume contest. Whether they volunteer or not, couples will find themselves suddenly tagged for the costume contest and shuffled into a special staging area where they will need to act out their costume and perform a themed dance. All participants will also receive a temporary enchantment to make their costumes more "realistic" to improve their performance.

🪶 Dancing in the air. Dancers will be "blessed"—or perhaps cursed?—to experience the ghostly wonder of flying while dancing, either within the main ballroom or even just outside on the terraces and gardens. While those in the ballroom can go as high as the ceiling, those outside will only venture up a few feet, so no one will find themselves flying off to sea. Some may find themselves a little transparent at times, but the warmth shared with their partners is still very real.

💐 Boo-quets. Create hauntingly beautiful bouquets that can be used either for the weddings or funerals that are taking place around the masquerade. Or perhaps make one as a gift for a loved one. Just make sure the flowers picked are the less "screeching" kind…or won't whisper dark, embarrassing secrets.

Outside the Helice Palace are special gardens that one can take a romantic stroll around and host hauntingly beautiful weddings under the blood moon. They boast a number of different flora, small hedge mazes, gazebos, and fine statues for those to enjoy. There are also many shaded corners and little hideaways that couples can hide in should they wish to enjoy something else. This year, the flowers in particular fit the theme, with bloody red and black roses and some should be wary as the flowers may be even scream out or whisper eerie tidings. A number of tombstones also fill the area. Perfect for creating a haunting ambience to cling onto each other.

👰 Wedding jitters. While some may have fun with the "undead wedding" concept and pretend to get hitched, there are some spirits who are taking this opportunity to make the vows they were unable to while living. However, even ghosts can feel nervous and some are having cold feet, hiding in dark corners while their awaiting partners are left searching for them. Help the couple before their negative feelings turn them into more hateful spirits throwing ghost hands.

😍 Possessed lovers. Some ghosts desperate to find their "eternal love" will latch onto living "grooms" or "brides," regardless if they are already spoken for not. While some will retreat if confronted, others may prove more stubborn, perhaps even try to force their "betrothed" to the altar. Then there are the rare few that must be dealt with—ghosts that will take to possessing the lover or who they think is the lover of someone. In this scenario, their acting may be good or bad, and some may just want to help spur on relations while others have more nefarious plans to steal the other's soul. One big tell for who is possessed is the eyes of the victim will have red hearts in their eyes. To save the victim, try one of the following methods: 1) throw "purified wine" at the victim; 2) throw "purified rice" at the victim; 3) ring the special bells found on tables right in their ear three times; 4) try and help fulfill their desire (suitable for non-dangerous spirits); 5) kiss them; 6) punch them.

🕯️ Weeping candles. As part of the theme, special candles can be lit either in the halls outside the ballroom or out in the gardens in remembrance of those who passed. When lit, the melting wax looks like tears, and the crackling flame sounds like quiet sobs—and the fumes may make those nearby cry as well. These candles are especially useful in helping lingering ghosts pass on.

⚰️ Floating coffins. There are special coffins set outside in various locations outside the palace. Large enough for two to sleep fit in comfortably, they are "open casket" though a lid can be pulled over for those who want some extra privacy. These coffins can also float through the gardens, allowing for a special private view while being closer to the red moon.

Whether one is deciding to pledge their eternal vows or not, some party crashers in the name of Captain Salt's Lonely Hearts Crew will appear, and they are different from the same crew that appeared in Latrommi— all of the ghoulish, ghastly kind. Only those of the undead will rush in, but because of the setting, not many will actually believe they will do harm and in fact some of the lonelier guests and ghosts may take them as a partner. But for the more determined, there will once again be some bride and/or groom abductions, be they dead or alive. Best to thwart their efforts or some weddings will turn into funerals.

On the edge of the watery world of Escordvi, where the horizon blurs between sea and sky, tales of the Farplane echo through the salty winds. This underworld, a shadowy mirror of the living seas, is where the souls of the departed find their final resting place, guided by the spectral hand of Envoy Jades and his ship, The Asmodeous. The Farplane, this is where the spirits and ghosts can spend the rest of their eternity in the bliss they choose.

Envoy Jades, with his tattered coat and a gaze that pierces through the veil of life and death, has sailed the seas for as long as anyone can remember. He sings old sea shanties and sleeping lullabies as he makes his rounds collecting souls. And while his appearance is ghoulish and grave, it is said that his presence is kind and encouraging, often coaxing ghosts to enjoy their last days in celebration in the realm of the living before taking his ship to embark on their final journey. The ship, said to be forged from the remnants of sunken galleons and woven with the souls of the lost and found, sails the seas like a looming ghostly shadow all month long. It is said that those who witness the ship's passage may catch a glimpse of their own fate, as their reflections ripple through the water.

However there is a bit of a problem. Those out and about need to be careful as there are many restless and vengeful spirits about. Many are harmless and are out to play pranks, however there are some who may have grudges and can be dangerous, even possessing people. The following methods are known to work to help those who are possessed: 1) help fulfill their desire; 2) beat them down; 3) find some "blessed" water or relic to expel the ghost (many will be sold around the festival but whether they are real or fake is a hit or miss); 4) dunk the person in the ocean. Once released, help capture the ghost and bring it to the shore where Envoy Jades can collect the wayward soul.

👻💀 Ghostly possessions. Be careful not to be possessed by ghosts that are obsessed with love who will make the person possessed do anything and everything to find love, even if it means hurting someone. Or ghosts with a very opposite personality compared to the possessed, which will make them act how they normally wouldn’t act. Or even ghosts that used to be dangerous or murderous that will possess others and make them want to murder someone too. Ghost possession can be any and all sorts, from dangerous to playful.

🧜 Mermaid ghosts. Ghosts of mermaids that perished in a terribly violent way are around and swimming about various docks and boats looking for unsuspecting victims to attack. These mermaids look half-eaten and angry and will attack anyone on sight and try and take a bite out of them in return. Be careful when docking and escape while you still have all your limbs. Trying to fight a ghost-mermaid-zombie off could be tricky.

👻 A dead man. A familiar looking ghost of a man once alive is wandering about demanding that his seamstress be returned to him. He keeps blathering on and on about how he owns his woman and that no one can take her away from him and that she is his to control. With a closer look, this ghost’s neck is ripped open so he has a hard time speaking clearly and his angry ugly shouts come out as wheezes and growls. Most believe this delusional ghost doesn’t deserve to be around, so find a way to destroy or send it away.

🌹 Emberbloom victims. Many of the lost ghosts wandering about are ghosts that carry beautiful red and orange flowers that look like the bright sunset. These ghosts are the departed spirits of murdered people that were buried on the Leviathan, Elah. These ghosts seem happy enough to be wandering about once again but they also seem sad that they never found their true love to give their flower to. Help these ghosts find their true love (Maybe it’s you? Maybe it’s someone else?) and help them give their ghostly sunset flower to another.

🐄 Bull ghost. A massive skeletal bull ghost is also out and about wandering the lands. It doesn’t seem particularly aggressive or violent, even if it looks like it could stomp on someone and kill them instantly. Actually, it seems quite nice and likes to listen to love songs. Try avoiding a fight and sing him something pretty instead.

🎃 Pumpkaboos. Little pumpkin-like ghost spirits are dancing and playing all over the Leviathans and the surrounding islands. These little spooks are playful and sweet and enjoy lighting the way for people walking around in the dark and are said to be spirit guides that lead ghosts to Envoy Jades’s ship. But while sweet, be careful, as these little spirits are able to hypnotize others and can control them to do their little pranks and harmless bidding. But they mostly want to play.

Every now and then, The Asmodeus will appear on the shores of Eltrut and other places that are having issues with ghosts. Although the ship may appear dark and dangerous, it will only appear to only collect the roaming spirits nearby before departing. It will remain active until dawn, and once the ship has been loaded with the spirits ready to depart, it fades away on the ocean’s horizon.

However, The Asmodeus should be mistaken for the ghostly ship that attacked Eltrut’s shores last year. In fact, while also collecting the wayward spirits, when it's off in distant waters, its speed picks up and seems to be searching…perhaps for this very ship that has not been seen since last Ghoul's Moon.

You can assume they acquired some kind of ship for the quests out at sea, either the starter ship or some other ship heading out there. All quests will be worth 4 points.

Seagulls can be a pain to most ships. Yet, seagulls that have evolved to be violently carnivorous can be even worse. These birds, effectively named sharkgulls, have been seen attacking ships and ports alike. They are big enough to eat small children in one gulp, or will do their best to eat full-grown humans after they've ripped them to bite-sized shreds! Beware and kill them before they can kill you!

Message in a Bottle

Everywhere

It’s a popular tradition to write a handwritten message and put it in a bottle and to send it out to sea. Sometimes messages come back with written responses. Sometimes they don’t! But writing a message can be a very therapeutic or fun thing to do. It might net the writer a few new pen pals or some well needed anonymous advice. Pen a letter, place it in a glass bottle and release it into the ocean's waves to see what happens. And be sure to respond to any bottles you find, too!

Plundering Pumpkins

There’s been a rumour going around that wearing a mask crafted from a carved pumpkin is an effective countermeasure to scare away ghosts. Demand for pumpkins has thus spiked all month, and farmers are struggling to keep up with demand. Some people are willing to pay a very high price for people to, ahem, acquire pumpkins from the local farms for them, while farmers will pay with coin and free produce to any who will help guard their crops for harvest.

She finally settles on a dress that, while still way too fancy for her taste, at least kind of looks like her heart got ripped out. That’s kind of cool, right? And …

She gets told her mask will hide her identity. And the dress she spent over an hour choosing. Her matched up at random dance partner will get to walk in on her whining. ]

What is the POINT of wearing something this stupid and tight and fluffy when no one can even see it? Man, this is why I hate these kind of parties… they feel more like business meetings than an actual good time!

Plucked from the rubble where she unconsciously fought to hold on to a slither of life, she was thrust into the arms of the crew of Royal Fortune by way of being dumped on the deck. It's been a few days since, enough rest time for her to finally manage to claw her way out of her cabin's bed and drag herself back to the upper deck, but certainly not enough time for anything to sink in.

Looking out at the slowly approaching Eltrut, she is a sight to behold in the loose uniform and bruises covering her face and hands, somehow worse for the yellow and greenish-brown that signal healing. The leather pouch of coins hangs limply from numb fingers, hair lashing her face in the sea breeze.

There's a million thoughts raging in her mind, all too loud or too jumbled to fathom. All the while, she just... stares. Unblinkingly. As if in a trance. ]

[ Being surrounded by people in good spirits is like a balm to Shepard's soul.

Still wearing that awful uniform she arrived in, she's seated near the market booth hosting the boba challenge, watching the event with mild amusement. There's a small wicker basket perched by her side - she caved into the request to keep eyes out for mischief-making kittens instantly, though she's still much too beat up to be chasing little beasts around. She's more of a strength-build kinda gal, anyway.

When the next challenger fails before their drink has even travelled up the straw, she snorts and lightly shakes her head. She turns her gaze to the nearest person as the boba baton is passed, folding her arms across her chest. ]

[Without designated missions, and with the prospect of assisting in a dedicated project looming up on the horizon, he's kept on the shore. On the Elrut, or whatever it is. Giant landmass thing. It's worked well enough - picking up work where he can, and he's not exactly a stranger to this sort of life. At least this isn't Omega.]

[Today, he's enlisted to help haul cargo and the occasional unruly passenger off the Royal Fortune. It pays the bills, it's boring, but at least he's in motion, and not chewing over a thousand other things on his mind. Or so he figured.]

[Because stepping up onto the boat (ship), he freezes, dead in his tracks. Garrus stopped snapping his head around to every flash of red hair within the first few weeks stuck here. But he can't help it, this time. And, this time, he locks eyes with a ghost.]

I. Crash Landing

[ There’s a new Paladin incoming from the sky as though he’d been flying one moment and he no longer is. Fortunately, Hawks is incredibly good at falling from the sky and tucks into a roll, head over feet before he hits the railing with a thud.

That smarts. He grunts a little bit and gives his head a shake. What just...happened?

His wings are missing – not just the feathers, but even the joints – and his clothing has changed. He shivers a little bit, looking around. His eyes have dark marks around them and they’re yellow, oddly shaped and have the tendency to look directly into the soul of whatever he’s looking at. Predator’s eyes.

The smell of salt water doesn’t give him any indication at all where he is, and he’ll get to his feet with a groan, teetering a bit as he leans against the railing in a casual way. Nailed it. He turns his attention to the nearest onlooker. ]

Hey. Seems like I dropped in from heaven on you. You wouldn’t happen to know where am I, do you? [ Hawks winks playfully, exuding confidence for someone who just tumbled in a rather embarrassing fashion. ]

II. The Tattoo

[ Hawks is not thrilled about this, getting a tattoo is something he’s definitely not allowed to do, considering, so he has to think very carefully about its placement.

Once he’s got it, and asks for the tattoo, the back of his tattered Paladin clothes tears as his wings burst forth and he promptly knocks everything over in a clatter. ]

Sorry about that! [ Hawks says apologetically, tucking his wings back in close to his body and he’s quick to move and start cleaning up. ]

Kind of surprised me there, you know? [ That poor shopkeeper. ]

III. Festival

A – Spooky Boba Challenge

A weird flavour? How bad could it be? [ Hawks looks at the choices on offer a little bewildered. It’s just candy and a drink isn’t it? ] Sure, I’ll give it a shot...

B – Black Kitten Spirits

[ Sure, they’re mostly bothering vendors but what cat can resist a bird in their midst?

After the third time, one can see his feathers on his wings ruffling rather visibly and he reaches back to swat at...nothing. ]

Knock it off. [ Hawks hisses at the unseen spirits. The moment he turns his back though, there’s another one, batting at his primary feathers. ]

C – Bunnyfish Bobbing

[ He’ll offer anyone having trouble his award winning smile. ] Need a hand? I’m really good at this game.

[ Maybe he gets caught in on the action. Hawks actually removes his glasses for this, his eyes narrowing and focusing in on the movement before he strikes, catching the bunnyfish in his mouth without any problem at all. ]

IV. Masquerade

[ The enchantment is good, he looks rather ghoulish with a tattered navy suit, with a blood red shirt and a yellow tie, while the mask gives his face a ghastly palor. He’s not exactly shy, and while the enchantment masks his wings, he’s still willing to offer anyone his hand. ] Care for a dance? [ Does he have a preference in partners? It doesn’t seem like it. ]

[ However, being drug over to the drunk pirate game makes him smile a bit nervously. Hawks hasn’t really played a drinking game before. A unique fact about himself, huh? He’s racking his brain quickly. ]

The last Gala I went to, I went with a charming bunny on my arm. [ Hawks says with a wink. Is it true? Might be hard to tell if someone doesn’t know him or Mirko. ]

V. Ghosting

[ Between mermaid ghosts and an old man claiming he owns people which might or might not really just irritate Hawks to no end, once these fiends turn up it’s going to be hard to divert his attention away.

He’s coming in from above, primaries in hand to slash at them and stand between them and anyone who happens to be getting targeted by the ghosts.

Or perhaps they’re just about to be caught off guard when a feather yanks their clothing back and deposits them somewhere safely, while Hawks fights from above. One way or another, he intends to win. ]

Third, and the most prominent question of all, what exactly he was doing upon the airship he'd not long leapt out of.]

[Up he went. Dizziness comes as part and parcel of that. But as his disorientation ebbs away and his eyes open, he finds himself squinting at something in his peripheral. The sea. Shining, blue- not at all like the gloom of Midgar's skyline. Furthermore... he can't help but feel lighter. Not in the soul. Far too late for that. More in the form. As if...

… His equipment. A moth-eaten uniform hangs off his frame- too short in the legs, far too large at the waist, and threadbare. His feet are bare, and to be frank? Wet. His entire back is wet from the waves that lap at the deck.]

[This and a long line of other colorful language erupts into the air above the deck as one slim, short-haired blond elf suddenly appears high up in the rigging. The rigging of a ship she has never seen. The rigging of a ship sitting on an ocean that should not be in the tits-freezing mountains she'd just been in. And the rigging that is now the target of flying shark-bird-monsters that know a free meal when they spot one. Can she be blamed for panicking? For flailing a bit and ending up hanging upside from one foot in the ropes, nothing but an uncomfortable amount of air and space between her head and the deck below? No, she decided. No she can't.

Despite her circumstances, she manages to land a pretty solid punch on the feather-shark as it tries to dive in at her, sending it back to do another circle before trying to strike again.]

I friggin' hate magic!


Plundering Pumpkins - PUMPKIN GUARD

[Ever since a hole had opened in the sky, little about anything made sense even on good days back home. And this place? This place was worse. Sooooo much worse. But sense could be found if she looked hard enough. Talked to the right people. Found normal problems that normal people dealt with in their normal lives that she could help out with in normal ways. Normal, normal, normal- shite. It was starting to sound like it wasn't a word again in her head.

The sensible thing for tonight was crouching in a pumpkin patch, bow and chalk tipped arrows (she wasn't gonna kill someone over a pumpkin) in hand as she used her superior ~elfy night vision~ to guard her vegetable wards. She'd even dressed in orange and green for the occasion. Just a big, weapon wielding pumpkin. That was her.

And a bored one.

Normal was nice, but Maker's Itchy Balls her leg was falling asleep. So it's only natural that, at the first sound of movement, she let her arrow fly straight towards the target, not much caring if it were thief, fellow guard, or just innocent passerby. At least it some someone. Someone that, if they didn't dodge, was going to end up with a small explosion of colored chalk staining their clothes and hair.]

[There was a bit of a manic glint in the elf's eyes as she flicked holy water (or blessed wine or whatever else she'd gotten her hands on in the last minute that promised to piss off the demons possessing people left and right) at anyone and everyone that got near to her. She pointed to a random person in the crowd, eyes and smile going wider if possible, and charged towards them ready to splash.]

Nappa lowers the pumpkin that took the brunt of Sera's arrow, and turns it over in his hand, angry that it has been defaced with colourful chalk. People are supposed to pay top dollar for these pumpkin things, but they probably want 'em pristine and undamaged. No way anyone's gonna pay Nappa for this one, and after he went to the trouble of stealing it, too! He tosses it over his shoulder angrily and lets it smash onto the ground.

"You just cost me one of them pumpkin things!" He calls out in the direction of where the arrow came. "And that's gonna cost you, ya little sneak! Nobody cuts into The Mighty Nappa's profits!"

Black Kitten Spirits

[ While Nimona does have a wicker basket to collect the kitten spirits, it's currently turned upside down so she can lean forward on it. She's definitely not using it as intended, but watching a litter of kittens cause all sorts of chaos at a vendor's stall. ]

Awwww, look at how cute they are! Did you see that one? It just knocked a glass off the shelf and broke it! I'm so proud of him.

Haunted Corn Maze

[ When she heard that they needed volunteers for the haunted corn maze, Nimona put her name on the list so fast she may have actually taken the number one slot. Now she lurks in the corn, moving about as different animals - her eyes glowing unnaturally in the dark. First she's a rat, then a cat, then a wolf - growing bigger and bigger but always staying out of sight. Only her eyes can be seen, and every now and then she throws in some animal sound.

The screech of a cat, the howl of a wolf, the growl of a dragon.

Sounds circle around the maze guests, until the rustling stops behind them and what emerges is... a young boy who has those same glowing eyes and happens to be floating off the ground by an inch. ]

That sounds like a lot more fun to Nimona, so she summons Denji to go check out one of Seventh Heaven's favorite docking spots. Standing at the edge of the deck, Nimona cracks her knuckles. ]

And worse, there's no sign of his magic pen, or a broom that he can spot that will allow him to fly down from this height... not that he would even want to do that if he could avoid it. He peers over the edge here trying to look for Jade or Floyd, or really any sign of a familiar or helpful face that he can draw the attention of from up here.]

[It... takes a little while for Azul to get his bearings once he has managed to get down from the Crows Nest and take in the spiel of the situation he's now in. Of all the insane things that have happened to him over the course of his life, this one certainly takes the cake. He can only imagine if this is what the Ramshackle Prefect feels since having been suddenly brought to Night Raven College actually, and now it's his turn to have to experience that same kind of abject terror of now suddenly being in a world not your own...

Still, Azul is nothing if not resourceful, and once he has reobtained his clothing and items, the place he ends up studying over the most here is the Manta office. After all, if there is one universal constant that is both a necessity and a tool in order to get what you want most in life, it's money, and that doesn't seem to have changed in this world either. None of the people here have been willing to give a good answer for how he's supposed to be able to get back home, but perhaps having more resources and wealth will bring forth more fruitful results and get him connected to someone here with any actual power in sending people back whence they came...As such, Azul can be found going through the list of current quests, dismissing the ones that don't offer any dubloons as a reward.]

No, no, definitely not... I beg your pardon? Who gives a squirrel a gun of all things...?

[oh, but there is a reward of 2,000 dubloons for it... hmm... wonder if he can find some idiot associate to distract the animal for him so he can cross that one off the list and pocket the reward for himself after...]

[Azul isn't really in a festive mood, but this celebration does provide two important bits of information here. One is that it seems that this world has something similar to Halloween and pinpoints what time of the year it is currently in this world... and the other is business information. Namely, what's considered valuable and what isn't in terms of what people are most likely to buy or want, as he visits each booth and studies what is being sold and how frequent a booth gets customers, making notes to himself here and there on the first day. (As for the activities, he mostly ignores those... you're gonna have to drag him along yourself if you want him to join you for those)

It's rather irritating, honestly, that he can't set up a booth for Mostro Lounge like he would have back home... he's going to have to rebuild his whole business from scratch the longer he is stuck here, isn't it? Terrible.

But in the meantime, there is one thing he can offer, as well as testing to see how well his magic still works here. As such, on the second day of the festival, there's a new booth that appears: despite being a new arrival, Azul has managed to acquire just enough money to allow him to acquire the ingredients needed for something simple. It's not as high-class as what was offered in the Mostro Lounge back home, but there is a delicious pumpkin spice tea (can be hot or iced) and tasty tea biscuits to accompany the drink on offer, along with the sign: Any Donations provided will help contribute to the future of Mostro Lounge (Potential Eltrut Branch Location TBD)

How did he manage to get permission to do this for a guy who has only been here for like a week, maybe so far? It's fine, don't even worry about it, instead why don't you try his food and drink, and maybe offer up something in exchange for this poor unfortunate newbie, for those generous enough to do so...]

["Haunted Wedding" theme, huh... Azul isn't really a fan of that, on account of how similar the idea of that feels to that time his school was beset upon by that ghost bride. But, let it not be said that Azul isn't adaptable, and with a suit and some make-up to make his skin look paler than normal, he seems to pass the requirement for looking ghostly enough to be allowed entry, along with acquiring a masquerade mask for his face.

In a way, it's almost a shame that he doesn't have his masquerade outfit from the exchange trip back home as it would be more fitting for... well, a masquerade, but this will do for dancing in, should someone feel like asking him. In the meantime, however, his attention is drawn to exploring the estate and it's splendor where allowed, including the gardens and taking note of the plants there. It's always good to know what kind of flowers grow here, and whether or not they can be grown somewhere else and sold for a few dubloons, after all... At least, that's the reason behind why Azul decides to take a look at a particular batch of the roses near some lit candles.

Despite the haunting ambiance they have, they are rather stunning... it's a shame that Jade and Floyd are not around to look at them and get feedback from. Then again, Jade would probably be more interested in seeing if there are any mushrooms growing nearby too, and Floyd would get bored after a few minutes and want to drag Azul somewhere to look at something more exciting...

His face feels wet, and to his surprise, he feels tears when he reaches up to touch his face. Before he can determine why he's suddenly crying, there's a sudden loud scream of laughter that billows out from the bed of roses that has him rearing back in alarm.]

"Hee hee hee! Azul tries to be so cool and confident, but he's way too sentimental, and totally scared that he's never going to get back home again! In the end, he's still just a crybaby oc--"

[The words of the flowers are cut off abruptly in the form of a stream of water that is suddenly dumped on top of the flowers with a wave of his magic pen, literally drowning out whatever else the flowers were about to say. And then, very quickly wiping his face and checking to make sure that no one else saw or heard any of that just now...]

[ After last month, it's clear that there is some sort of connection between the Paladin's MANTA board mission and the Corsair's. Seeing as how Tadashi isn't much of a fighter, he's enlisted the help of his captain to help him handle the mansion. Tadashi has infiltrated it as a butler, and when he has the opportunity to slip away unnoticed, he goes to a side door where Cid is waiting. ]

Everyone's gone to have dinner. Most of the staff and household members should be distracted for a long while.

[Hiro wants to try help out. And besides, celebrating holidays, at least ones that seem similar to Halloween back home might be nostalgic to him. In getting that experience again with Tadashi. After what happened back home. After he didn't think he would get this again. Hiro tries to help out, using the lantern and walking with Baymax to find pumpkins. At the least, even if Hiro is a tiny, scrawny nerd, he has the robot to help him carry the large, heavy pumpkins for him.

This is what Baymax is doing when Hiro trips over one of the roots, one robotic arm instinctively reaching to catch Hiro's hood of his SFIT hoodie.]

[Hiro removes a lollipop from his mouth, and asks whoever might be nearby and have some of the sugary treats. He's decidedly ignoring Baymax next to him saying something or other about eating chocolate and sugar in moderation and something about brushing his teeth afterwards. Not that it stops Baymax from trying, at least.]

Black Kitten Spirits:

Alright. If I can handle Mochi I can probably manage this....

[So Hiro figures. Hopes. He's not sure how many of these kittens there are but. Even so. He can at least try to help. Baymax lags when Hiro tries to chase after one of the spirits though, the poor robot not being nearly as quick as the teen despite all the upgrades Hiro had made to the 'walking marshmallow'. He tries to sneak up on one of the kittens but ends up pouncing and failing, the spirit easily dodging him and his wicker basket as Hiro lies pouting on the ground, a puff of air from his sigh shifting his mess of bangs.]

Maybe I should try a trap or something instead.

He doesn't necessarily know about them hypnotizing others, just thinks they are kind of adorable in appearance at least. Besides, it's Hiro, so it isn't necessarily going to be that obvious if he were to be hypnotized and prank someone, since he is kind of a brat anyway.]

His first thought is to morph but he hasn't got his tattoo yet, it takes a bit before he starts to kick and scull with his tail. A dry, sardonic, weary voice sounds without sound.]

Alloran gets himself out into the water again and something bad to look at happens - his body starts to swell and lengthen, fur matting down and turning a bright yellow, something horrible happening to his face. Then he gets less buoyant and sinks below the surface, where he becomes a long, undulating shape. His head breaks the surface, and Alloran the fifty-foot yellow alien sea serpent blinks small eyes against the light.]

[Alloran's in his favorite human morph, a slender woman in tight-fitting clothes and no shoes, dark hair tied back from his face. Probably not appropriate for the weather and he may be covered in goosebumps or shivering but ignoring the discomfort. You may have seen him morph and if you want I can describe that; he ducked into an alley out of open view but didn't go to a great deal of trouble to conceal himself. Regardless he's slugged one of the sour bobas without changing that look on his face overmuch. He'd be happy enough with any flavor but he wants another weird one.

His voice is slightly slurred because he's not a natural with mouth-sounds, but coherent.]

So, he's back here again. Felt kinda weird to be here, go back home, and come back only to find months had passed here while only minutes had passed for him on Earth. Still, Nappa's glad to be back. He's his own man again! Free to do as he pleases with no Vegeta or Frieza to boss him around.

A party means booze, and some of the stuff here ain't bad, even if it doesn't match up to the kind of booze you used to be able to get back on Planet Vegeta, but Nappa had to dress up for this one. He was able to procure a suit to fit his massive frame, but then he had to "dead it up a bit" which meant tearing it to shreds and a very liberal application of red paint. Looks like any number of people Nappa's kicked the tar out of. Plus it gets his pecs out a bit. A lot.

"So, I gotta tell you something about myself, eh?" Nappa asks, downing some vodka (it's his turn, he'll drink if he wants). "All right, squirts. Buckle up! So here's Fact #1 about The Mighty Nappa...of all the Saiyans, I'm the strongest of them all!" And since there ain't nobody here who can say otherwise (there wasn't last time!), if Nappa says it's true, it's true. Ha! This game is great!

Ghostly Possession

Oops, turns out Nappa is rather easy for a ghost to possess. And worse, the ghost that wormed its way inside is that of a convicted murderer in life, exactly the wrong sort of person to hand a Saiyan's body to. Finding a body with such overwhelming power is intoxicating, and the murderous spirit is eager to make the most of it.

"Never tore someone limb from limb before..." The ghost in Nappa's body muses as he advances on his next victim. "But this guy feels strong enough that I could rip you apart like paper! Let's find out!"

Killer Sharkgulls

Beasts need killing that can fly? Easy enough! Saiyans learn to fly when they're babies, it's one of the easiest tricks in the book. He manages to drop down from above on a flock of sharkgulls, and with a flurry of energy blasts, begins driving them towards the ground.

"Come on, I thought you critters were supposed to be vicious! Show me some REAL action why don'tcha!" Nappa may get more than he bargained for...only half the flock was in the air. The others, roosting nearby, have been roused from their idleness by the Saiyan attack, and are taking wing towards him, with Nappa none the wiser. Unless someone opts to warn him, first.

Message in a Bottle
Sure, why not. Nappa's writing isn't exactly the most legible, but he can push a pencil around if he has to. He did used to work for the King, after all! So, he'll write a message and toss it into the sea.

[Even he needed to catch some fresh air, a slow breath taken as he walked along paths -and tried to veer away from outdoor weddings- to just admire the roses. The night sky with even that hanging red moon casting some color with it across the ground alongside stretching shadows.

Eventually Turo did stop and find some shelter within a gazebo, sitting back on a bench within. Never letting his eyes linger for too long on the tombstones littered about as well.]

... It still manages to look lovely, even if haunting- I suppose that is purposeful, of course.

Easy, it's alright.

[Sitting just on the balls of his feet, one arm outstretched and pal upturned as Turo had his eyes focused on something within a shadow. Some movement of it floating there. Perhaps for the first time he was feeling homesick for a world he never could or would explore for himself, a home left behind.

There was a smile as the little spirit cautiously floated out with eyes glowing bright, settling just in that hand. A smaller one than he had seen earlier.]

There we are- startled yourself with that trick, hm? That is alright, no harm done.

[Even if these weren't the same creatures as from home, the resemblance and behavior was still there- was that something shining just at the corners of his eyes?]

[Turo stood quietly on the dock, a notebook in hand as he was- well.

There was a realistic sketching of ship being actively drawn, a few notes of stories he'd been hearing about it while overhearing -and asking- the locals what it was. Reassured in some odd way that this was certainly not the ship that attacked just last year during Ghoul's Mood.]

[ Reno had gone to the patch to pick out a pumpkin for himself--some locals told him about a custom of gutting and carving them to make jack-o-lanterns, and it seemed a nice way to open the festivities. Plus, there were so many!

Unfortunate that Reno had caught sight of what looked like an already carved pumpkin, and had been tilting his head curiously at it. Perhaps to get inspiration? Or maybe it was just because it looked weird and he wanted a closer look. But then the pumpkin blinked at him, and there was a split second where he jerked to stand upright in surprise, but the very next moment, he was just... standing there while it floated around him, laughing in a sing-song voice.

That's probably nothing to worry about, right? Totally nothing to worry about.

After a few moments, Reno turned from where he'd stood hunched over, frozen and staring into space, and start slowly--and disjointedly--shuffling towards the nearest person while the floating pumpkin kept singing in a weirdly lilting voice.

It was, unfortunately, something to worry about. ]

Blackmail

[ It was starting to get chilly at night. When the sun dipped low and disappeared for the night, if one found themselves caught outside without a jacket or a sweetheart to keep them warm, it was easy to catch a chill.

Maybe it was pity, maybe it was friendliness, maybe Reno's order just got messed up so he now had two drinks and no one to give the second drink to--who could say? Either way, the redhead had taken notice and approached. ]

You're gonna freeze out here like that, yo. Here, I got an extra. It'll warm ya up.

[ This redhead with a vulpine stare was holding out a cup of pumpkin nog with a lopsided grin that hid something. But the drink smelled just fine(there was a warm scent of alcohol to it, though), and he was sipping from his own cup while offering this second one--surely it was safe?

It was safe! But those who tried to take the offered drink would find that Reno was pulling the cup away, his grin becoming more toothy and smug. ]

Hey, I didn't say it was on the house.

[ Color was in no short supply on the dancefloor, and where Reno might normally be a bit of a sore thumb with his bright red hair, tonight, he blended easily into the sea of colors. But even tonight, when anyone could be anything they wanted, he still swaddled himself in a mantle of sunsets. Warm and heavy reds, golds, and oranges against a black palette.

A red coat over a black shirt, with bones like gold wrapping around his torso. His face was painted over black and white like a skull with visions of emberblooms and marigolds, and golden lips--all to hide the tell-tale tattoos around his eyes and sit in stark contrast to the jade of his eyes. Even the give-away of his hair was hidden, highlighted in golds and oranges, and left to hang and frame his face.

Careful, though! Whatever it is you were doing, prepare to be interrupted without warning and whisked away, instead! Size and strength didn't seem to matter for how effortlessly Reno could pull them up into the air to join him in the dance. ]

And where have you been all night?

[ That certainly was a hand on the small of their back, pulling them in closer while being whirled through the air. Don't think about it too hard. ]

[ Alternatively, dancing around on thin air was rather risky business, wasn't it? It was hard to control the ascent and descent, and who could say what could trigger either event, or if it was completely spontaneous?

Or, alternatively, have a Reno suddenly in their arms, and instead be gracious enough to catch him as he unceremoniously and inexplicably dropped from the crowd of mid-air dancers. ]

[ Vash doesn't participate at first, content to sit on the sidelines and sip a drink while watching everyone else play. But as the crowd participating in the game grows, he's somehow included in the circle eventually.

Inevitably, all eyes turn to him and it's all he can do to laugh politely, a little awkwardly. ]

[ As he starts, he holds up one, two, then three strangely translucent sea green prosthetic fingers as he makes his statements. ]

➤ Kitten Spirits

[ Somehow, he's got a knack for finding cats, spirit or not. Vash is currently sporting his usual hooded coat thanks to some earlier adventuring and locating his stash, but the hood is currently full with three those pesky tiny little kitten spirits. They seem quite content to stay in said hood, and Vash even has another in a hand, currently waving a stick with string dangling from it to keep it entertained. When one of the hood kittens turns and starts gnawing at his undercut like it's trying to groom him, he just laughs. ]

They're a bit of a handful aren't they? I don't have the heart to turn them in, they seem kind of cute to me.

[ He offers whoever he's speaking to a shrug of his shoulders. Really, he ought to look into getting at least one or two of those wicker baskets. ]

➤ Air Dancing

[ He's dressed appropriately ghostly, his clothes tattered but elegant and white with a touch of electric blue. His face is painted with dark circles and tones to emphasise features that make him a little more gaunt. He hadn't really intended on winding up on the dance floor, but somehow he does.

Luckily, despite at all the effort he spends on appearing like a gangly awkward clumsy idiot, Vash does possess some grace so he is a decent dance partner. Wether his partner notices that they have started to rise into the air or not is certainly something he's paying attention to as he leans in to whisper: ]

Don't let go okay? I've got you.

➤ Squirrel Gun. Gun Squirrel.

WATCH OUT!

[ He comes out of nowhere, it seems like, diving at whoever he sees close enough to knock them to the ground and cover them with his own body—just as a shot rings out. The squirrel with a gun is out for blood, and as it goes with Vash's luck, his efforts to talk the squirrel down don't seem to have bore fruit. ]

Sorry, are you okay? This guy's a real menace!

[Darin isn't exactly thrilled about all of these events celebrating spooky ghosts, but if there's one thing he does love, it's festivals. Especially harvest festivals. The food in particular is the reason why he fancies these festivals so much, and when he heard about the Candy Treat Exchange, he'd devised a plan.]

[You see, he already has a chart of every unique item that each stall is selling and he's making it his mission to not only get at least one of everything, but to eventually have a full collection to enjoy. It's his mission. And he's determined to see it through to the end.]

[Which is why you'll likely see Darin mumbling away as he makes some checks of his chart. When he spots you, he immediately heads over, whether you have candy or not.]

Hey! Yeah, hey! Quick question! I'm looking for someone who bought up those caramel apples. They're sold out now and I need one for my collection. Did you want to trade? Know someone who can trade? I'm dying for one!

[Darin fidgets awkwardly. What was he even doing here? Masquerade balls weren’t exactly his scene. Hell, Darin had never even been to a party before. He wasn't even considering attending when he'd heard the news about the upcoming event.]

[But after Zelda woke up...he couldn't stop himself. He was just so overjoyed that she was awake again that he had to ask if she wanted to attend with him. And then he'd heard about the theme! Why didn't he pay more attention to the theme before he asked her?! There was no way she wouldn't read too much into this! He was just asking her to join him at the wedding themed masquerade ball as a friend. To celebrate her recovery. That's it.]

[Fortunately, there were rental costumes. And fortunately, the shopkeep was amenable to Darin's constant whining about the formal attire being too restricting. After enough hemming and hawing, the tailor decided that he could make the outfit much more thematically appropriate if he made some alterations. Namely, by ripping the front of the jacket and shirt open and giving Darin an accessory to wear underneath.]

[Which is why he's dressed in what appears to be formal knight's attire. The overall outfit is tattered and the jacket and shirt are torn open to reveal his muscular torso. A torso that is covered by a bone white leather harness made to look like an exposed rib cage. On his face, he's wearing a black domino mask and a black iron laurel crown that also evokes the image of small demon horns jutting out from his temples. All in all, Darin fills out the outfit alarmingly well, and it would be easy to assume that he's worn this type of formal attire before.]

[Regardless, he stands in the courtyard leading up to the Helice Palace, awaiting his date friend while she finishes getting ready.]

[It's just one night. He can survive this. Right?]

II -GENERAL-

[Honestly, this wasn't so bad. The masquerade itself wasn't nearly as stuffy as he thought it would be. The ghosts have him...more than a little freaked out, but he's seeing a lot more people that he knows and that helps ease his jitters. He's easy enough
to spot given his size and the fact that he's rocking formal knight's attire that's torn open to reveal a bone white leather ribcage harness. He can be found by the refreshments. He might even be persuaded to dance. He could certainly use the distraction with all of the ghosts flying around.]

Gods above why are there so many ghosts in this damn world...? I really need to get something stronger to drink...

III - DRUNK PIRATE-

[One thing's for sure, Darin could use a little levity. And the drinks they're serving here are actually really good! And while he can't normally get drunk, there's something about this alcohol that actually seems to be affecting him a bit.]

[Which is why this huge man seems a bit more open than he usually is.]

Alright, so I gotta tell you something and you need to guess if it's a truth or a lie?

[He gives it some thought.]

Okay, how about this? My twin brother came back from the dead and framed me for murder before I washed up here! Truth or a lie?

[Darin's really getting tired of all of these ghosts floating around. Going about his daily life on Eltrut has been stressful enough this month and now he has to contend with ghosts? He's been made all the more jumpy by the fact that the ghost of a lady seems particularly interested in him and keeps popping up to offer him a flower.]

[No doubt you've heard Darin screaming if you've been anywhere on Eltrut lately.]

[Now, he's looking ragged and run down. He's barely slept since the ghosts began descending en masse and he's sitting on a bench in the marketplace looking dead himself while the ghost of his would-be suitor floats nearby, watching him.]

...I know you're there. Gods please leave me alone!

[All things considered, Freminet wasn't that interested in the candy. He just found it rather odd that people would celebrate something as spooky as ghosts and monsters. However, he can't complain when this reminded him of something similar back home.

There would be children dressed up in costumes to go get candy from stores once a year. This was no exception. However, given how busy Freminet could be, he had little time to celebrate. Now that he had the time? Well...]

[ A red moon rising would normally be a thing of concern to Helios, but as this wasn't his native planet, he was able to be a far more passive observer in the cycles of this planet's energy. So it was, after consulting with locals, that he could let himself relax and let the moment pass him by.

Or. Well. He would try to.

The spirits of those passing on were more sensitive to Helios' presence than the living, and as such, the white-haired boy often had a procession of ghosts gravitating to him and following him, aching to stay just a little while longer in the comfort of his presence. Helios didn't seem to mind, and seemed to become something of a popular choice among the locals for soothing some of the restless spirits that had only just started to corrupt.

In fact, characters undergoing possession may be brought to Helios by a local!

He would look at them and smile--his golden eyes and soft face as warm as the sun--then close his eyes and nod. If they wanted to rage, he was prepared, but he was wont to approach these aching spirits with patience, first. ]

Spirit, will you come out and tell me what troubles you?

Spooky boba challenge

[ He took the offered cup in both of his hands, holding it gently in front of his chest as he just sort of. Blinked. At it.

He understood the gist of it, but the idea of boba in and of itself was a novelty to Helios, so pardon him for taking a few moments to stare at the cup's colorful contents and just sort of marinate in the moment.

Both him and his drinking partner would soon enough find out that Helios had the world's lowest tolerance for sugar, but in the mean time, he was happy to go along with the game! He flashed a smile with a soft hum. ]

We'll both start on the count of three.

[ Not many would assume such a noble and gentle looking young man could have something of a playful side, but yet, when his drinking partner finished the countdown, Helios only stood there with the straw between his lips, smiling brightly as if he had done no wrong.

He did. He did do something awful. He was a liar and had no intention of being the first person to start drinking. When the other person caught on, though, he would bubble with a polite laugh at whatever face they made. ]

Ah, I'm sorry--in the spirit of the festivities, I couldn't help myself.

Corn Maize

I'm not very good at this..

[ How he had been wrangled out here and volun-told to scare the participants of the corn maze was anyone's guess. The most likely explanation was someone just trying to see if this gentle looking young man actually had it in him to be scary, or that they just wanted a laugh at his attempts. Or maybe they were lonely, and he offered company! It was really anyone's guess. But here he was now, standing on one side of a thick wall of corn stalks with this other person.

They were waiting for the upcoming group to get close enough, when he heard a rustle and he looked past his companion to the wall of green. His brows raised and he let out a small gasp of alarm as the stalks pulled their roots up out of the ground and fucking walked with all the precision of a marching band or parade into a totally new position around them. A new position that absolutely swallowed them in stalks of corn and made it impossible to see eachother.

In the not-so-distance, the patrons of the maze could be heard screaming and giggling in delight, shock, and fear at the turn of events. He didn't sense anything particularly malicious, but with the nature of things as they were for this celebration, it was hard to parse malice from mischief.

Some passing Pumpkaboos giggled and disappeared into thin air above them as Helios brushed aside a few stalks. ]

Possessed lovers

[ One of Helios' stronger traits was his temperament. He was of a strong will and patience, and tended towards being a very gentle, grounding presence. The problem with this had been how much of a magnet that made him for restless and fearful spirits seeking repose.

Luckily, Helios was of a very solid constitution, and many attempts at possessing the priest never went anywhere. But that just meant those who were nearby him that might not be so resilient to the supernatural were quickly targeted, instead.

Feel free to attempt to flirt with, smooch, or swoon over this young man. Pull him into your arms. Dip him low and smooch him. Pledge undying love to him. Do it for the bit. Helios won't tell anyone! He'll even try to help dispel the possession afterwards. ]

Boo-quets

[ Helios was of a quieter nature, and while he was comfortable and happy partaking in festivities for a short while, he much preferred the quiet and stillness of his own thoughts.

To that end, one might come across Helios in the gardens among a sea of flowers--some of which were in the process of blooming right then and there around him. He was comfortable settled at a small garden dining set in the midst of it all, picking nearby blossoms to weave into garlands and wreathes.

Flowers that might normally have screamed instead sang when Helios picked them, though they did so with melancholic voices.

Though the night was chilly, should one stand or sit near Helios, they might find themselves feeling comfortably warm and at peace, instead. ]

[Meanwhile Freminet wasn't having much luck. He wanted to give some flowers to Lyney and Father as a gift but it seems they weren't treating him kindly. While some of them were whispering, some were flat out screaming. So much so, the poor boy was panicking as he started to look around to see if there was anyone nearby.

Of course, as he kept the flowers in his hand, he was attempting to find a place to hide. This wasn't how he wanted to end his day. In this quest for a quiet place with little people, that's when he found a person in the garden.]

I - Arrival

Clyde is a lot of things, like, a lot of things. But he's absolutely innocent of what he's being accused of here! Heck, the guy's just arrived after all! But for some really odd reason, he's already up on the chopping block! Literally!

Okay, not literally.

Because they're actually planning to hang him from the gallows.

Which is basically the same! Anyway, he's looking a little bit composed (trying to look composed). Despite all the things going on right now, the jeering crowds, the few curses being tossed out here and there, and the noose that was currently around his neck. What has Clyde Blackburn done to deserve this? Something about larceny, bar fighting, a stolen ship, coveting another person's wife, and so very much more. Did he actually do any of what he's being accused of? Maybe, maybe not. If asked, then Clyde would have profused his innocence!

He needs help. Please, help!

II - Punching the Patriarchy in the face-place

Clyde Blackburn doesn't care about your silly rules, your stupid social norms. Why would he? He's a PIRATE now! But he's also a stand-up kind of guy. So, he catches wind of some poor, innocent maid being forced into the marriage of an old, not-too-good looking noble guy (Clyde thinks he's a noble, he's rich though, so that's all that matters), he obviously has to jump to her aid!

Which happened to be him and whoever else he somehow managed to rope into his scheme. A scheme which basically involved them crashing the wedding, him (or really the bride) clocking the would-be husband in his stupid 50-something face, and everyone raiding the rich guy's estate!

Clyde mentioned this dude's rich, right? He did, and it's at his fancy mansion or whatever. Anyway, there's now a full-on PIRATE RAID now! The bride is... somewhere in the chaos. Probably still kicking the old dude in the nards or whatever for trying to make her marry him and have his children.

Which is pretty gross. But it's also cool that things are ending happily! Like how Clyde just totally bodies one dude trying to come after you! Was the other person a friend? Foe? Who knows at this point?

It's all chaos right now.

"Hey, you alright pal!?"

An explosion goes off somewhere behind him (set by Clyde) because, of course.

III - Masked Dancing (women preferred for this one)

His voice sounds like he's having fun, whoever he is, as he takes hold of your hand and smoothly enters the dance with you and away from your previous partner. His steps are light, fairly practiced, and feel like they would prefer a faster tempo. But he still holds his pace with you, no matter what your skill at dancing is. The masked man seems to be enjoying himself as well and doesn't appear to have much of a care in the world.

Clyde's hands are warm, if a little rough, and his smile is broad and warm, and welcoming.

IV – Cheating

Clyde has turned over a new leaf, honestly! But, well, some habits die harder than others. It’s supposed to be a friendly game of cards, but there is always that one guy. The one with a stick up his ass and blind to the fact that there are other things out there. Someone that ignores the presence of others in favor of closing themselves up and holding up in their own, little world where none can shatter their perceived illusions of being better than others out there. That one fellow who just always has that smug look of superiority.

A complete, and utter jackass.

Said jackass is currently winning. Clyde knows it, everyone at the table and bar knows it. But, well, the pilot does have an ace up his sleeve.

Literally.

That’s when the trouble all started. Words fly and Clyde, of course, vehemently deny all accusations of cheating! Him? Cheat? Sleight of hand? NEVER! How could anyone accuse him of such! Well he would have none of it! He would-!

And then the cards started flying, and then the fists started flying, and Clyde started flying backwards into someone.

Congrats! It’s time for a good, old fashioned, bar fight!

V – Drunk Pirate

“Okay, okay! Haha! I’ll go next!”

A night of wine, women, and song, just how things should be in Clyde’s mind as he sat with his latest drinking partners, glass in hand. Things had been going on for a little bit now, as evidenced by the number of empty bottles strewn about. His fingers drummed along his glass for a moment. Hm, a truth, a lie, or a half-truth/half-lie? Which angle should he go for here?

“Alright, so how about this, hm? I have… hang on…” A throat clear and a little sway. “Secretly, I’ve never, not once! Took a trip out of my hometown! This is actually my first time away from my mama’s house!”

VI – Post-Halloween party

Clyde is missing his shoes, wearing a mix-matched, hodgepodge set of clothes that are most certainly not his. Such as a red jacket that screamed ship captain, torn pants, a stand, wool mitten, and a pumpkin mask on his face. As things stand right now, he’s currently huddled up right in front of your domicile’s doorway, looking like a corpse.

He’ll probably feel like a corpse too once he wakes up. How did he manage to get there? Who knows! It doesn’t particularly matter what your current living arrangement is either. He’s there.

Or falling back into your place, groaning should you open the door up to find him there.

[ well! this has been exciting. after arriving on a ship somewhere, typing his name into a typewriter (fascinating!!) and getting back into his usual clothes, cyrus albright is not even remotely concerned about his surroundings. or, well, if he is, he's certainly not showing it. rather, upon arrival to eltrut, his head has basically been on a swivel, observing every single thing physically possible. this is a scholar's paradise if only because there is simply so much to learn that he's nearly dizzy with it, and while of course the lack of his companions is currently quite concerning, he imagines they'll find each other well enough. and besides! he was on a journey before. this just seems rather like a detour.

so! unbothered. thriving, in his lane, cyrus chats up locals and everyone in sight, and learns rather quickly about the inkwell, which is where you might find him... or, at least you will hear him from the open door outside: ]

A tattoo as a conduit for elemental energy? [ this is not a shocked or angry or Karening The Manager reaction, this is genuine surprise and delight that practically radiates through his voice. ] Oh, you simply must tell me how that works. What does it utilize? The body's natural humors? Does it serve as a connection point? Instead of using words or spells, to create a permanent bond with nature itself... what a fascinating concept. 🌊 IN THE WATER

[Skyfall; The last thing Twilight could remember was laying his head down to rest after a rather pleasant family outing with the Forgers in full as they explored the Eber River in search of the elusive seal named 'Belle'. Now as he plummets through the air with a look of pure shock splayed over his features he wonders if this is some sort of twisted nightmare only to hit the water at full tilt. Submerging into the ocean depths he quickly realizes this is not a dreamscape of his making, returning to the surface gasping for breath as he looks for any definitive landmarks only to be met with open waters as far as the eye could see.

Treading water for the better part of half an hour, exhaustion was finally beginning to set in as his tired limbs worked overtime to keep himself afloat. Just when he thought all hope lost a large vessel of grandeur the likes of which he'd thought unimaginable sailed towards him. Waving a hand in the air in hopes of flagging down the ship in question it seemed to barrel forth in his direction, a faint glimmer of optimism returning as he clung to the last remnants of faith.

Not before long a life preserver was thrown out to sea in his direction, Twilight sluggishly wading towards it until finally grasping on, holding on for dear life as the crew members worked to pull him up and over the railing. Clad in a loose fitted tunic and simplistic pantaloons, the blonde haired male wipes the clinging tendrils of hair which hid the bright blue eyes from view.]

I had thought myself a goner...You have my sincerest thanks.

[Offering up his heartfelt gratitude before even making eye contact with his saviors. Adopting his usual friendly moniker when in the public eye, much like his latest handle one Loid Forger for Operation Strix for the time being as he looks to ascertain his newfound whereabouts.]

[Having found the chest with his personal belongings along with acquiring his Shellphone, Twilight stood within the tattoo parlor dawning his signature green suit, WISE pin firmly in place upon the left lapel as the secret agent frames his chin quizzically deep in thought. Before him stood a rather peculiar sight, a large octopus meant to ink his untouched skin with a brand which would instill great power of his choosing. Normally he would never agree to such a thing, a definitive marking which singled him out at any given moment was unprecedented in his profession immediately giving his identity away with ease. However; In this particular instance with the prospect of gaining an otherworldly ability that could serve to aid in his endeavors within this newfound world the positives far and beyond outweighed the negatives.

Given his affinity for thinking logically at all times the world's most dangerous spy thought long and hard on the choice set before him. There were endless possibilities that would be beneficial, the power to manipulate metal in the case of rectifying gunshots to his person or perhaps fire for offensive capabilities to strike down his would be foes with ease? Mauling the infinite variables racking his brain the man stood silently, index and thumb fingers framing his chin as he pondered deep in thought. Little did he notice the rather long line having formed behind him which had seemingly started to become impatient, receiving a tap to his shoulder which broke his concentration.

Blinking wide he turned on the heel of his shoe to face the perpetrator in question, instantaneously coming face to face with the swath of people starring him down. Rubbing a hand at the back of his neck, Twilight beams an awkwardly sincere smile trying to diffuse the tension in the room.]

Aw- My apologies! I had not realized my indecision had caused such an impediment.

👻 BLACK KITTEN SPIRITS

[This is not how Twilight wished to start his time here in the waking hours of his day upon Escordvi's shores, hoping to stumble upon a refreshments stand in the marketplace selling caffeinated beverages as he plots a course to explore the Leviathan of Eltrut proper to better get his bearings.

Thwarted by a pack of mischievous ethereal black kittens no bigger than a closed fist, the secret agent could be seen running after the little nefarious thieves. They had stolen something extremely precious to him, a pin with the emblem of an eye looking towards the right bearing a strange significance to the selected few who know its truth. Rushing after them with an outstretched arm he waves down a stranger as the ghostly beings round the corner towards them.]

Hey! Get back here!

[Pointing a finger to the dastardly creatures which alluded his capture as he nipped closely at their heels.]

You there! Stop those kittens they have stolen something of unparalleled importance to me!

🍹 DRUNK PIRATE

[Despite his initial reluctance to participate in the events which had begun to unfold in his wake here in Escordvi, Twilight found himself enthralled in the lavish masquerade taking place at Helice Palace. Considering the requirements in order to attend the undercover agent has adorned himself in a spooky yet fashionable skeleton suit complete with face paint and mask thanks in due part to his significant other Yor who coaxed him into this whole affair.

At the moment he was left to his own devices and saw fit to rectify his mild apprehension with a drink, though it appears it came with a catch, a game of truth or lies to be engaged with another patron meant to reveal the skeletons in his closet to the pursuer. Little did they know he had no intentions of playing by the exact rules, half truths at best fabricated by his adopted persona of one Loid Forger he'd taken up the mantle during Operation Strix given his fake wife arrived here alongside him. With a courteous nod of his head to the nearest candidate he orders them each a glass of his preferred drink of choice, whiskey straight before they must divulge themselves in the coconut vodka they were instructed to partake upon should they guess incorrectly.]

[The first of many bold faced lies he would muster forth in this game of cat and mouse as he plays his part to perfection smiling sincerely. Twilight was looking to use this exercise to garner information about this place and those who'd also been subject to their adversities. Collecting intelligence is what he does best after all and would avail him greater incite into what he was dealing with here.]

[He'd been minding his own business when the Pumpkaboos begin to float around his person, giggling joyously as they walk in step beside him. Although he was hesitant to trust in the mysterious critters they seemed harmless enough, leaning down onto one knee extending a hand outwards to them. One in particular fluttered closely to almost land upon his outstretched fingertips, a sincere smile gracing his lips as he ushers out an earnest bit of hushed laughter under his breath.]

[A beat as he stands back onto his feet wiping his knee clean of any debris from his usual green suit, Twilight looking over to his counterpart who deemed to grace him with their presence.]

🪶 DANCING IN THE AIR (CLOSED TO YOR)

[Watching the rather puzzling spectacle from the sidelines, Twilight stood with his darling wife, Yor Forger who accompanied him to the opulent extravaganza that was the masquerade. If not for her curiosity he would likely never had attended the grand affair held at Helice Palace. He wasn't used to bringing attention to himself for no reason but to keep up appearances and appease his companion thought it best to partake in the event at large especially given her genuine inquisitiveness.

Standing quietly beside her dressed in the formal yet festive garments of the skeleton suit and mask picked out for the occasion, Twilight looks on in bewilderment as the happy couples dance away merrily effortlessly floating above them with each step. A shy yet honest smile graces his lips as he sheepishly looks over towards Yor, a cupped hand moving to his lips clearing his throat as he finally spoke up after silently observing on together.]

I had certainly not been expecting this of all things when we arrived here.

[Letting the hand rest casually at his side once again as he tries best to keep his usual calm and stoic demeanor in the presence of his imitant wife. Opting to keep up the facade as Loid Forger he would have to work diligently to make sure he did not rouse suspicions with his matrimonial spouse though it had recently become far less cumbersome by comparison as they grew more and more comfortable in each others presence.]

Herding Cat Spirits

[Ghostly kitties terrorizing the vendors and booth? Naturally, Ranma did the sensible thing for himself: steer clear of dealing with those paranormal pussies.

Unfortunately for him, life has other plans. It started with one popping up in his lap while he was chillaxing in the park. Then another making itself home inside his pockets. And another, and more, and more. Seems these mischievous kitties are naturally drawn to those who detest and abhor cats. Contrary to what witnesses and victims to these spirits, the cat apparitions wouldn't be all that hard to spot.]

Scram! Git! S-Screw off, dammit!

[When their source of entertainment and rest is screaming and ranting and raving in the middle of the street at the unwanted pests clinging and climbing on him. Ranma swats and grabs at, getting an inch close to knocking the cat ghosts off him before they ghost (ha ha) around him and return to position.

Please help him, he's having a bad time™, eyes wide as china saucers with a frightened, almost-manic grin that occasional broke with terse gibbers. Or laugh at his misfortune. That's also a valid option.]

Masked Dancing

[It wasn't but a few months ago that he had to dress up as a groomsman and bride for a sting operation. And before that, he was going through his own wedding ceremony before... complications put a hole in that. And the wall. Of the possible theming they could hold a ball in the spirit of quasi-Halloween, it's marriage. Love is one of the scariest, mind-turning, soul-wrenching things imaginable, so go figure.

Dressing up and getting dolled in his Sunday's finest wasn't a problem for him. He doesn't want to miss out on a big event like this, plus it isn't just marriage and lovey-dovey tripe, but undead. So here Ranma is in accordance, stuccoed in ashen white body paint with darken circles drawn under his eyes to make his face look more sunken in and ghastly. Dressed in one of two ways. A groom in a red suit topped off with a fascinator, holes and tears made in his clothes to give it a rotten-with-age appeal. That includes the big hole exposing the red 'wound' (in reality, more body paint). Or a bride in black, complete with matching fascinator, black lipstick and eyeliner to cover her previously existing magically-applied blue, and even trading her typical pigtail for a ponytail. Oh, let's not forget the red makeup to make it seem like her neck's been slit, red streaks like rivulets of blood down her torso.

Whichever form Ranma attends, he'll still be given the same mask to match his aesthetic, plus you can never go wrong with red. He's stand by the concessions table long enough while people were being partnered up to dance together. So whether you approach him first, he approaches you first, or you happen to be nearby, he pops the simple question.]

[Drinking age's twenty where he's from... Buuuuuut eighteen years is pretty much an adult, so it's fine if he participates in this, right? Besides, even if they don't hand him a shot, he may or may not just. Steal Acquire a glass in his own way and just plop down to another participant like he belongs. [No one would judge the teen for being captivated by the garden, would they? No wonder they're making the theme around love this year, this place is absolutely perfect for a romantic tryst or getaway. Ranma've heard of others picking flowers for the occasion, and a banquet would complete his costume.

Bloody red roses, just what he needs. Black roses he can do without. Looking at them makes him hear that hoity, strident chortle all over again. Getting over that, he plucks a rose.

Unluckily, he wasn't taught the proper way to pick them, cause--

[Ranma's track record with the undead and supernatural have never been a pleasant or pretty one. Quite pitifully, in fact. So the fact a strange, pumpkin-lantern-ghost creature took an instant liking to him shocked him. Typically spirits want to make his life a living hell or date him. Instead...

This kindred spirit too wished to evoke a little mischief on unsuspecting victims like he does. Ghoul's Moon is this world's Halloween, which meant only one thing: prank and scare a sucker out of their skin!

Which, after many nights of prep work and a little otherworldly assistance from the Pumpkaboo, the big night's ready. Everything would appear fine and dandy... though whoever's taking a late night stroll may stumble across something disconcerting.

Red droplets, painting and puddling the ground. Leading to an old, decrepit building that one can only assume used to be an apartment complex back when it was still bustling with life. Now, it only holds a sinsiter presense.

Yet, strangely, ever so inviting, even if you wish to ignore the red stains and carry on your night like nothing's wrong. Almost as if a little voice is in the back of your head, whispering and beckoning you to go inside.]

[In some ways, it is probably not all that surprising to see Roxas walking around with his brow furrowed. Farmer's Markets are busy after all, and there's a lot of choice available. And it can't be said that Roxas knows a lot about pickled good or knitted clothes or anything like that. Well, beyond the fact that the food looks good and the mittens look warm.

So you'll find him with a bag of things, staring down soaps or cheeses and maybe wondering if he should do something like this one day. Or maybe he's collecting an odd assortment of items.

One way or another, he's thinking about things.]

[The thing about mazes like this is that you're given a lot of conflicting information. If you're lost, you should stay where you are. Or you should follow the left wall. Or was it the right one? Roxas doesn't know. He's not good with mazes. Why did he even enter this one? (Or right. It was this or the manor. And he's not going to the manor).

For the moment, Roxas is glaring at a dead end. Mostly because a minute ago, he was certain it wasn't a dead end. He thought there was a corner.

He's in the middle of a fight with someone who has decided that Roxas has wronged him in some way, but Roxas couldn't tell you what that was. He was just minding his own business. At least until there was a sword in his face and well, that's when the Keyblades come out.

Or perhaps, you're the possessed who's attacking Roxas! Which definitely changes things up. Roxas is less likely to unleash his 20X attack modifier on a friend after all.

Been here for more than a year now and they're still a problem.

[ There are people coming out of the haunted manor. Laughing. Screaming. Generally just enjoying themselves. That's the reason that people go into those things, to be scared and to have fun while doing it. Personally, Cloud doesn't really understand it. Being scared isn't... It's not a fun experience.

But he's still there, standing with his arms crossed. Ghoul's Moon activities so often remind him of the time spent at the Golden Saucer. Maybe Cloud is a little interested in going in?

All he needs a good push. Or someone willing to needle him. ]

[ Coming across Cloud once Envoy Jades needs assistance collecting spirits could prove... Dangerous. While Cloud himself is confident in his abilities? It would seem that some of those restless and vengeful spirits are too.

He doesn't seem to walk quite right, gait is a bit off. From a distance? An eerie glow in his eyes. While Cloud's eyes have a slight natural green glow to them, it is more intense. Maybe it is just the trick of the time of the year, making it more vibrant than usual.

But the grip on his sword is tight. Be careful! ]

Not that they have to for overly long. With people also trying to hunt these hunters, they are returning to these locations. Probably to fortify and hide out or to clear out evidence of their shady operation.

[Coming across the potions and lotions vendor, Minthara had actually thought she might have found one of the first few things she truly believed was practical. It was a thought that was soundly and thoroughly quashed in mere breaths and exchanges of conversation.]

A plethora of vials and not a one poison.

[The drow nigh scoffed, characteristic displeasure and unimpressed demeanour writ down along her expression. The potions of anger, however, potentially could have proven themselves useful, despite poison being something so much more the satisfactory.]

II. Masked in Silhouetted Shadow

[She saw House Baenre in the reflections of the masquerade. The ostentatious flutter of grandiose touch. The very air itself reminding her of days and nights in the Underdark. Of prestige and lineage. Of a world she would never be able to return to.

It made her want to hiss, but for a night, she could remember who once she was in full and not who she was now above the ground. Where she would have been more comfortable in wear of her own kind, of her own familiarity, Minthara had begrudgingly accepted dress code, coughing up necessity to temporarily dress in ghoulish garb.]

Move, or I shall move you.

[To a likely innocent party. To the point. Sharp. Not particularly malevolent, simply a pragmatic woman with more on her mind than joyful dances. Of course, anyone on the receiving end of blade-like words was not necessarily to think the same.]

[Gale has encountered a number of familiar faces during his time here, many of whom have vanished just as quickly as they had appeared, and most of them he has considered to be friendly— but coming across Minthara in the market is a first, to be certain, and while he has made efforts to be personable in the past, he cannot say whether she would consider him to be a friendly face. That depends on any number of things— but even under the best possible circumstances in which their experiences align, he would hazard a guess that she likely thinks him tolerable at best. Even that may be optimistic, but all the same, he does not have it in him to simply continue on his way.

He clears his throat softly as he comes to a pause a few feet from the stall in question. His own experiences with potions in this place have made him wary of assuming that anything in a bottle would be as advertised.]

Perhaps she has something of that nature in backstock.

[In one moment: dawnlight reflecting on glass, an amber glow skipping across tiny sails and endless, irresistably intricate knots. In the next: roiling waters, salt, and, unaccountably, a glaring midday sun.

Zenyatta is not afraid of change, not anymore, but not since his Awakening has he been so thoroughly disconcerted. Try though he might to remind himself that all things are possible in the Iris, his every subroutine insists that this is absurd. He cannot be stumbling to shore from the deck of a ship onto the back of a giant turtle. He is not surrounded by a merry band of men and women who would not look out of place in a Glitchbot blockbuster.

He is. It is to that gentle brag he clings, like the heartbeat he does not possess: I am, Zenyatta thinks, and so he will.]

ELTRUT; pumpkin collecting

[They call it the Ghoul's Moon here. In the past, in his own world, Zenyatta believes it has been known as Samhain, or el Día de los Muertos, or any number of other festivals all linked by the spirit of things, so to speak... but the name hardly matters. It's Halloween, and it is gloriously familiar. The only strange part is the realisation that he does not recall ever having participated in Halloween festivities himself.

So if you happen to be picking pumpkins in the dead of night, try not to be alarmed by the silent approach of a robot, glowing like a lantern all on his own as he floats across the patch, his voice warm and sonorous as he deadpans:]

Would you like some of my candy? I do not think I can manage it all by myself.

[... unless, of course, you catch him a little later, a balloon on a string tethered to the ground by a particularly stubborn vine that has wrapped itself around his ankle. Each time he moves it tightens its grip, sinking further between his pistons. As soon as Zenyatta spots another person, he raises a hand in greeting.]

Excuse me. Do you have a knife? [that's not an ominous question at all!!!]

NAUGHTILUST; masked dance partners + dancing in the air

[Another new experience: a masquerade. How wonderful!

Selecting a costume had been only the first of many thrills; in the end he had plumped for something resembling hanfu, reassuringly familiar in spite of its tarnished gold and tattered sleeves, darkened by what he hopes is only imitation blood. And the mask! Stark, smooth porcelain, with only a pair of narrow slats for eyes. No matter how minute the possibility of being recognised without it may have been- he was still a stranger in these lands, after all- Zenyatta's processes still halted as he slipped it over his faceplate. Between the deathly white of his mask and the shriveled flowers pinning back a veil, he really does make quite the frightening figure, if he does say so himself.

Hopefully not too frightening. Particularly when he glides onto the dancefloor, momentarily absorbed by the sheer spectacle of glittering candlelight and rose petals, its occupants swirling across the floor and then up, up, up to the ceiling in a whirl of gauzy dresses and glinting masks- and is promptly shoved into another guest, chest to chest.]

Oh! [Then, as the shock wears off:] Boo.

[With that, he bows, quick and shallow, and moves to take his new dance partner’s hands. Looks like you’re being taken for a spin whether you like it or not.]

GHOST PROBLEMS; bull ghost

[Though it has been said that music may soothe the savage beast, Zenyatta rather suspects that this particular beast was never savage at all. Enormous, certainly, and in its enormity capable of enacting a great deal of carnage- but the bony muzzle that noses ever closer to his lap has shown no particular interest in so much as nibbling since the soft, silvery sounds of Zenyatta's orbs caught its attention. They spin lazily about the omnic, chiming in turn, and in turn the bull answers with a curious flick of his tail.

That being said, it would be unwise to completely let his guard down in this strange new world of myth and mayhem. As soon as the bull senses another presence it gives an irritable huff, lifting its head- and horns- to scent the air, and Zenyatta tenses in turn. Without turning to the stranger, he calls out-]

If you seek a fight, my friend, you will not find one here.

[Poor Izuku isn't new to all the strange creatures in this world. A lot of them seem to have surprising personalities. He's seen flesh-eating birds and sweet-talking dragons. In this world, size doesn't always mean dangerous.

He yelps on the spot, looking a bit surprised. That bull spirit doesn't seem too friendly at first glance. At least, not with Izuku.]

N-No. I wasn't looking to fight anything. But... How did you get it to like you? From what I can tell, a lot of the ghosts around aren't friendly at all.
