We're going shopping!
Who: Chopper, Open to anyone else
Status: Open
Where: Around?? Various places/Shops around Eltrut
What: Chopper goes shopping, checks out local medical facilities/supplies?
Warnings: None off of the top of my head.
a:
[Chopper is excited to go ashore again and have a look for supplies. He has a list! He's wandering, exploring, and trying to stick to just what is on the list. He's checking it as he walks and might accidentally bump into someone as he walks reading it. He is at least tiny enough in his default toddler-sized form that he probably didn't knock over whoever it was??]
Ah! Sorry! I should be paying more attention. Are you okay?
b:
[He has found something on the list! Problem is that it is higher up than his toddler-sized form can reach. Actually.....a lot of things are probably out of reach for him in his current form. He stretches, trying to get at something that is on a higher shelf. He's not yet immediately transforming to his taller form because he is stubborn and thinks he is so close, that he can manage by himself.]
Almost....
c:
Hmmmm. It's not on the list. But....
[He kind of might be tempted by some clothes. A new shirt. A new hat. Maybe. Obviously the hat would need to be altered to fit his ears and antlers. Maybe a couple of holes cut into it. Chopper gets distracted from the list as he checks around, explores and wanders, finding more stalls, more shops and options.]
I wonder if they have this in a smaller size?
d:
I'm sure there's somewhere around here I can find more medical texts or supplies....where was it again?
[Chopper wonders, more speaking aloud wondering to himself, more than that he is actually talking to anyone else that might be passing by and overhear. He glances, his ears shifting as he tries to follow the map, as he checks what stores might be around nearby, trying to remember where it was he had found some things previously.]

[Honestly, that feels like a refrain for this whole conversation. "What". Is this what it's like to parent? Look, he'd broached the idea of adopting krogan kids to bolster up Shepard's morale, but they probably wouldn't be like this-]
I don't know where to get that. At all.
[What is that face.]
Then you'll be right at home.

[He's been here for a bit but was more focused on figuring settling in. Finding his way around. Learning about this place. Figuring a crew. That sort of thing had been his focus the last few months. Not so much on whether there is cotton candy.
But he assumed there had to be somewhere. Just because Garrus has no idea what cotton candy is, doesn't mean there is none? Right? Maybe Garrus just doesn't eat it?]
no subject
[He's probably seen it before. But he can't immediately picture it. In the face of, well, that face, the brain cells bouncing around in his skull don't want to connect.]
You could probably ask around?
no subject
[Chopper really wants to help the other find some so Garrus can try it. If the other can have it. He's not sure. Since some people have certain dietary requirements to take into account, of course.]
no subject
[Oh no, is he going to go on Candy Quest with a child. A doctor child? What even is life.]
But uh. I'll take your word for it.
no subject
[...which is to say that. Well. Yes. Garrus, you just might be dragged along in pursuit of cotton candy. It is a Crime that this deliciousness has not yet been shared, and this must be rectified. Immediately, apparently. Cue the tiny reindeer gesturing for Garrus to follow, distracted from his intent to gather supplies by talk of cotton candy.]
no subject
[Oh, the little guy keeps going. And making gestures. Oh no, he's going to get lost. He sighs. Drags a hand down his face.]
I thought you wanted medical supplies?
[Maybe he can get this train back on the track?]
no subject
We can get some medical supplies too! While we look for cotton candy!
[Because he is now Determined that Garrus must at least get to try some of the deliciousness. This is now a new priority and mission for the tiny reindeer. He leads the way to pay for his item before heading outside again and glancing for another store that might have medical supplies. Or food. Snacks would work that he might be able to find some cotton candy?]
no subject
[Or Leviathan. Whatever it is. It really seems unlikely things like sterile medical supplies would be in the same area as candy.]
[... Nevertheless, he's following. Somebody has to.]
no subject
[Chopper does not seem deterred at all. Garrus is decidedly not succeeding at attempting to distract his focus back to the medical supplies. The reindeer continues on, heading left and leading the way. As if he knows this place much, if any, better than Garrus might do.]
There's a shop. They might have more medical supplies.
no subject
That's the bookstore. I don't think they've got anything you're looking for.
[Books are really interesting, though. They're made of real paper. How often do you get to see actual paper books?]
no subject
[Chopper is still more used to paper. To books and parchment. So he would be rather amazed that books were so rare for Garrus.]
no subject
When you put it that way...
[When Chopper puts it that way, it's a good point. He was thinking more along the lines of first aid kits, but it is true. There's all kinds of wild disease here.]
All right. Books it is.
no subject
Hmm. Oh! Maybe this one?
no subject
[... Oh. That's a romance novel. Huh-]
What. [Did he slam that book back onto the shelf? Shh, no.] Sure, sure. If you think it'll help.
no subject
[At the least, Chopper doesn't see whatever Garrus was looking at with the romance novel. He's too busy gathering up a few books that seem useful, holding them up to show the other. Chopper has no reason to immediately suspect anything when Garrus puts the book back that he had been looking at.]
no subject
[Does that make sense?]
Ah... sure? Probably wouldn't hurt to start a ship medical library?
no subject
[Chopper is too excited about the books, oblivious to Garrus's inner questioning of this whole thing. He holds the books to his chest, beaming excitedly as he makes his way to the counter. Which.....of course, he can't quite see over. Because tiny.]
no subject
[Okay. Just gather your composure. You're not actually this kid's parent.]
Hang on - let me make sure I can cover this. [Bounty hunter salary isn't that great, honestly, and all.]
no subject
[He doesn't just expect the other to pay for Everything. But he figures to check with Garrus just in case. Chopper rummages through his tiny backpack and pulls out some of his money, showing the other how much he has.]
no subject
[He sighs, and nods his head at the counter. Then digs around in his own pockets - physical money is a hell of a thing.]
Just - pay me back later.
no subject
[He doesn't want to lose track. To forget that he needs to pay the other back. But it should be easy enough to do, if they were on the same crew. He thanks Garrus, letting the staff ring up the purchase. Taking the books once they were put in a bag for them.]
no subject
It's fine. Wait until you're more established here. Might take a while.
[Because this place is weird and all.]
no subject
[He wants to help. Wants to be useful. To earn his keep. To do something. Chopper thanks him, not thinking about it that Garrus gets a book as well. He lets Garrus take care of the purchase, reaching to take the bag of their books if Garrus doesn't beat him to it.]
Now we can look for medical supplies. First aid kits, or medicines, bandages.....
no subject
[He doesn't want to say "a kid could do them", because apparently this is the doctor they've hired on. Aaaaand nope, he's taking the bag.]
You can get the next one. We should keep moving.
