Welcome to the Test Drive Meme for

escordvi! Anyone can participate in the test drive, regardless of invite eligibility. Just keep in mind that only those who have received invitations from the mods can actually reserve on April 24th and apply on May 1st. Our EMP/ATP can be found here.

All threads related to the snapping turtle prompts are worth 6 points.

For your toplevel, please include the following: Character Name | Canon | Armada Choice | TDM (IF TDMING). Current players can use the same header, just without the "TDM" label. We do require those who are TDMin'g to include the label so other players can distinguish between others.

For everyone's convenience, TDM threads can be carried over in game if you wish! If you are still unsure which armada to place your character, you can play it a bit loose and vague in the TDM and make retroactive changes if you carry over the threads. The log itself is set to cover starting from April 12th until the end of the month. Characters will appear at random intervals during this time rather than all at once, so players have some more flexibility on how much more adjusted they are for someone else.

TOPLEVEL DIRECTORY (Updated April 23rd)

GETTING STARTED

This section can be timed for any time after April 12th until the end of the month, which includes during the current event. These prompts are to benefit those TDMing, but this portion can be handwaved instead and serve as a reference for players to know what their character will have experienced and learned on arrival.

STARTER SHIPS

There are two ships that serve as starting ships for each armada: Stormbringer for the Corsairs, and Royal Fortune for the Paladins. There are various ways new arrivals—or riftfarers as they will be called, among other creative names—will appear on or by these ships. The crews for both ships will also seem a bit odd to some, as it is a mix of humans and various animal folk, non-humans that look more animal than human. Some just look like large versions of their smaller counterparts. From birds, to seals, to even bears, there is no shortage of interesting faces and people on these ships.

🚪 Random room. It could be empty, filled with crates or supplies; down in the hull where the livestock are kept; have the luck to awaken in a bed...or the misfortune of that bed already occupied; somewhere in the kitchens; in the bathroom—any room! Now let's hope the doors can open or someone may have to try and ask for help. Or jump through the porthole if there is one and it's above water.
⛵ On deck. If not in the ship itself, another possible spot to wake up to is somewhere on the maindeck. If they're lucky, they're on the deck itself. More unfortunate souls may find themselves caught in the sails or netting, the crow's nest, or on the top of the masts. Someone should be able to help, right? Or catch.
🌊 In the water. The most unlucky sods will find themselves appearing in mid-air just past the ship and plummeting straight into the water. Good news, there's always someone on the lookout for such a thing and calls for help to "throw a lifesaver, get the rowboat!" will be made. Are there sharks? Well... ...Are there?

However the new riftfarers arrive, they will be poorly clothed, practically rags or loose uniforms depending on the ship. Fortunately, veteran crewmates will guide them, escorting them to a room with a strange typewriter in it. After typing their name, the typewriter will magically continue and type by itself at a fast pace until it dings and rolls out the paper. This paper will have the following information:

• Name and Shellphone ID (journalname)
• Armada (Corsair or Paladin, will match the starter ship)
• Cabin Number for their personal cabin on the starter ship
• Apartment Address for their personal address at their base armada location
• A basic map of the starting locations in Eltrut, including written directions (continued in the Eltrut section)
• A basic map of where they can find a chest with their original clothes and belongings (this will be different for every person and will be anywhere either on the starter ship or on Eltrut—players can be creative here).

After that, the crewmate will do their best to explain the basics of how they got here, what's going on, and what they'll need to do to live in Escordvi while they are here, giving them a small leather pouch with money. They will be reaching Eltrut soon, so the crewmate will suggest they look around, meet the others who have arrived. Even from their distance, they will be able to see the giant sea turtle that serves as Eltrut's leviathan.

ON ELTRUT

Once in Eltrut, the new riftfarers will be greeted by several birdfolk who will be happy to give tours to those who may need them. Otherwise, anyone is free to roam as they please and will have a map for the following main places they should visit.

🐚 Microshell. The first stop that is encouraged will be Microshell, the main store to acquire their own personal Shellphone. The paper they received on their starter ship will have their ID and the staff at the store will set them up, explaining how the device and the network works.
✒️ Inkwave, Tattoo Parlor. The next stop is Inkwave, a tattoo parlor run by a very burly but friendly octopus, Knistej. Here everyone receives their own unique magic tattoo, allowing anyone to cast specific single element spells and other magic. Note: tattoos are required before anyone will be able to use their original magical abilities.
📜 MANTA office. The final stop is the MANTA office, where all the request, mission, and task notices are posted. Each armada has their own branch office for armada specific notices as well. A great place to find jobs to earn some cash so they don't stay a hobo forever.

OUTSIDE THE TURTLE

The results of the recent island raid along with the implementation of Armada insignias has created a tense atmosphere. Rumors that it was those from Elah who spearheaded the grotesque trend of the crystallization of living creatures to put on display have been spreading, while the Corsairs are responsible for supplying their greed. It's clear that members of both Armadas were involved in some way, yet there are those who try to place worse blame on the other. Because of this, attempts for First Tides festivities throughout the month have been stifled. Some are still able to come together to celebrate the importance of the leviathans that allow people to survive on their backs, with the current divide making residents particularly more loyal to their home leviathan.

But when the sudden appearance of a large snapping turtle that is almost twice the size of Eltrut appears, its jaws snapping and aggressively moving as if to fight the bewildered leviathan, all that tension, anger, and frustration seems to pivot towards the aggressor. Dubbed Reppansagen, fleets from both Armadas join in to try and force the leviathan away, each side moving as if to prove themselves. Some are reckless, ships crushed or swallowed by the snapping turtle's monstrous jaws, but eventually those who manage to breach the shell realize that this turtle isn't rampaging without reason.

Ominous spiny spikes protrude from the turtle's shell, and turtlefolk who have joined the fray are able to figure out at least a few reasons for the turtle's aggression. Where the spines came from is a mystery for now. Thus within a day, objectives pivot from fighting the turtle to helping it, though there are still those who are more on the defensive until the turtle calms down. Due to the massive size of the turtle and the spines, this would be a weeks long undertaking.

With a common "enemy" now in their midst, the two Armadas will form something of a "truce" to allow better partnership. This means the insignia effects have been lessened, allowing those from opposite sides to be within each other's presence for a few hours longer before they feel that burn and must separate. This particular effect is only active on the snapping turtle. Everywhere else remains the same, and remedies can be used if they are acquired. (Note: for those unfamiliar, due to current events, everyone has an insignia reflecting their Armada affiliation on the back of their hand. Please refer to the Captain's Log for detailed information on the effects this has on everyone.)

⛵ Snapping jaws. The leviathan has been swimming and snapping at any ships sailing by. Getting too close will result in ships getting snapped into pieces in the turtle’s strong and destructive jaws. Avoid getting snapped up and or swallowed whole. Some ships might be automatically lured in when the turtle opens its mouth and its golden tongue shimmers, magically enticing pilots to steer their ships right into its jaws.

🐡 Pulling spines. The snapping leviathan is cranky for a big reason. A massive reason. Extremely large, jagged spines have pierced their way through the snapping turtle’s thick shell and have to be removed. Find a way to grip onto these massive spears and pull them free from the shell to give the turtle some well needed relief. But be careful because the spines can be incredibly poisonous.

💊 Healing. After the spines have been removed, the turtle will need an immense amount of healing. That will include the wounds and scratches that can be found all over the turtle's legs, neck, and head as well. Those with healing skills or healing items should consider using them on these wounds so that the shaky earthquakes in the area might stop.

🌿 Snapping vegetation. Just like the snapping turtle leviathan itself, a lot of the local flora and fauna is prone to being a little snappy. Large pitcher plants, cobra lilies and venus fly traps are littered all over the leviathan and will snap up and try to swallow any passersby. Don’t get stuck!

🥀 Thick pollen. The local vegetation has a habit of emitting powerful wafts of thick pollen that can alter moods if the pollen is accidentally inhaled. The pollen can do anything to the body, from causing severe drowsiness to severe … ahem. Arousal.

🐢 Baby snapping turtles. Don’t forget that it is the First Tide season. That means that there are hatching baby turtles everywhere that need to be guided to safe waters before they’re munched on by predators. Baby snapping turtles are also hatching on the turtle’s shores and will need to be carefully guided to the water. But these little guys are extremely snappy. So, don’t lose a finger or two!

The "ground" is mostly just the shell of the leviathan, and it is dry, rocky, and almost barren with vegetation mostly found on the higher ridges. Living around the bottom ridges are various gangs of scavengers that make a living out of salvaging what the snapping turtle has left behind in its wake. They salvage anything from broken materials to valuable goods. They are greedy, sneaky thugs who will lie, steal and kill to make a dubloon. Be careful not to get robbed.

Deeper and higher up the shell are hidden villages of snapping turtlefolk that, most likely because of the scavengers, are hostile and aggressive to outsiders. Venture too close and one may be attacked with barbed spears, the tips like small jaws that will clamp down and hook into the target's flesh, making it difficult to remove. But if one can help rid them of the scavengers and prove they are helping the leviathan, they may loosen up. Perhaps guiding one of the other turtlefolk from Eltrut over to help translate and communicate will help. Getting on their good side will yield guides, assistance in pulling out the spines, and even some rare minerals and materials, including some treasures they may have collected or taken from the scavengers.

INSIDE THE TURTLE

Whether on purpose or being caught by the leviathan's lure, those who get too close to the turtle's mouth will need to either somehow steer their ship through or save the crushing weight that destroys their ship. Inside the turtle's mouth is a graveyard of broken ships that it has attempted to snap and eat. Broken, waterlogged wood and rusty metal is scattered everywhere, not to mention the occasional floating skeleton or lost treasure. Those who attempt to travel through the mouth can try and dislodge any painful pieces that may have pierced the turtle’s gums and perhaps it will release them in gratitude.

But for those who are unable or caught in the strong current and are swallowed, if not on a ship then there is a lot of debris that can be used as a surfing board or a raft to travel down what will be a very long drop through its throat. This will be a test for many ships and where many who survived the initial crushing jaws may topple over and wreck if they can't maintain steady balance.

It will eventually even out and those who manage to survive it all will find themselves in the stomach. By the entrance the water is turbulent but safe, but the water grows more acidic the further in, becoming a toxic, acidic ocean that is very dangerous to the touch. Any live tissue that enters this part of the water will be slowly dissolved and digested. It is best to avoid getting in the ocean water whatsoever. But crossing it… That might be the bigger challenge.

🏚️ Stomach villages. Inside the stomach is where the inside of the turtle doesn’t seem so much like the inside of an animal. The turtle’s insides are rocky and craggy, with plateaus and steep mountains to traverse. There are even lights in the distance that show that there might be living communities down here who have been making the most of their life inside the leviathan, shipwrecked crew who accepted their fate. Venturing further, travellers will find small villages of slugfolk who might be eager for visitors. They’ll be willing to trade and sell goods and have an interesting selection of medicinal ingredients that are made out of…slug slime.

🦠 Growths and fumes. Being inside the turtle has its fair shares of dangers. There are bulbous growths that can be found all over the stomach lining. These growths contain terrible bubbles of gas that can make anyone extremely sick, but the growths must be removed in order to give the area and the turtle some much-needed relief. If destroyed, the area will momentarily flood with smelly gas before it dissipates, leaving it healthier and more breathable than before.

🧫Viruses. Bizarre creatures seem to be crawling all over the area, attaching themselves to anything and anyone to suck out their nutrients and energy. These little creatures have been dubbed viruses and they also need to be destroyed as soon as possible. They look like tiny oozing piles of goop with big bubbly eyes.

💎 Treasure gacha. The leviathan’s body is littered with lost treasure and relics to find. Some of it is valuable or magical and some of it is complete trash. All sorts of things can be dug up from the leviathan’s insides to be kept! While there are numerous chests and treasures to be found, players can comment below to roll a specific item their character might dig up. Test your luck! Only one roll per character.

It is soon discovered that there is a legendary pirate ship, the Blood Onyx. Captained by the ruthless weaselfolk pirate Vermino, it was once known as the terror of seas, plundering ships and ransacking towns for all the gold and riches they could have. It is rumored to have disappeared over a hundred years ago after stealing from an ancient sea worm's hoard, and thus many assumed the worm got its revenge. Now, those who have entered the leviathan's stomach will find the ship itself on a small rocky island in the middle of the acid ocean, its red tattered sails blanketing the walls and black stained hull battered and broken among the cliff like rocks deep in the turtle's stomach. It looks as if the crew may have lived there for a time, perhaps even part of the communities that are here now…

There are warnings that the ship is haunted and those who try to venture out are said to never return, their corpses found floating in the water before slowly disappearing. But of the small few who manage, they speak of ghosts and undead guarding the vast riches still contained in the hull, and even bring back a few artifacts they manage to swipe. It is also said there are some powerful artifacts from the sea worm, items and books that speak of crossing worlds and traveling great distances. Some of these artifacts may be scattered outside of the ship throughout the stomach in the form of glowing rings. Whether any of this is actually true…only one way to find out.

Once further through the stomach there is an exit leading into the intestines. There is no water here, instead it is made of multiple long, winding caverns that look like they are also made out of earth and stone. They are rough and hilly and it will be quite the trek to get through them to reach the end. Those with ships will have to figure out how to move them over the land. What’s worse is the tunnels seem to absorb and reject all forms of light sources, so anyone travelling through these tunnels will have to do it in pitch black darkness. But perhaps there is a way to find the light. Holding hands with a precious person might make the walls light up and glow… This note might be learned from the slugfolk in the area who happily sing a song.

As they get closer to the "exit," things will start smelling a bit foul and by now everyone should have figured out where they need to go to escape. There's also a bit of a…blockage that will prevent an easy out. To help relieve the leviathan of its constipation, there are some glowing mushrooms growing along the rock walls around the area and back in the intestines that when crushed and mixed into the dark river will soften things up. Massaging the rough walls might help relax things as well. Once enough has been mixed, there will be a loud guURugLGllle, a signal that the leviathan is ready to blow. It's their one shot to be expelled out of the leviathan, so don't waste it!

QUESTS

The current MANTA Board is available, but we have a couple of additional quests that are specific for the event! These quest in particular is more related to First Tides festivities, good for those who may be less interested in dealing with the cranky turtle. Teaming up is of course encouraged, no matter what the affiliation. You can assume they acquired some kind of ship for the quests out at sea, either the starter ship or some other ship heading out there. All quests will be worth 4 points.

Unfortunately, this year the First Tide festivities have mostly been cancelled at large on Eltrut. But that’s not stopping some of the local turtlefolk from taking to the market squares to sell their leftover goods; after all, they don’t want their hard work to go to waste! From flower leis to seashell necklaces to a mystery special crab soup, help the turtlefolk to sell their wares and keep the spirit of First Tide alive!

Everywhere

While the main festivities aren’t occurring, it is still time for baby turtles to hatch. For those who don’t venture to the giant snapping turtle, they can still find plenty of regular baby turtles who still need to be helped to get to the water. They won’t bite your fingers off, but their more docile nature still makes them prime targets for predators. Help guide them safely to the ocean waters. Just be careful of the particularly violent razor-beak pelicans, who will do anything to snack on a baby turtle.

Some of the larger, adult turtles around are getting caught in local fishing nets. Since they are so big, they need help in getting themselves detangled from the mess and back to the ocean. But there are some fishermen around who might want to poach the turtles for themselves to make turtle soup. Help rescue the turtles! And maybe give those fishermen a piece of your mind?

Naughtilust

There are rumours on the Naughtilust of a shady merchant selling supplements and aphrodisiacs that are supposedly made from turtle shells and other such materials. While the supplements don’t appear to be dangerous, the notion of hunting down turtles warrants investigation. Track down the source of these rumours and put a stop to the merchant selling these materials. Or… Are you more interested in getting some of those special materials for yourself?

[ it's this "we, we" stuff that she keeps saying. it's disgusting, annoying even, and surge is split between doing this herself while ditching the hedgehog or just settling because someone has to view her victory and tell the masses.

the tenrec jumps forward with a flip, and falls down to her feet with ease on the ground with a a thud. stretching her arms, and then bringing her hands together to crack at her knuckles, the girl looks at the cloaks that amy has acquired. snatching one from her, she wastes no time putting it on, but there's this issue with her hair that surge is already pulling back the hood because this almost feels stupid if not for the girl holding her hand out for one of the knives. ]

Gimmie.

[ she's got to make this work, and it's with one hand extended that she's waiting for the other to hand it over. hopefully she trusts surge enough to give it because why would anyone, especially when the girl makes it known that she doesn't like amy at all. even now, she's only putting up with her because of what they have to do. ]

Do you really hate me that much?

[ The answer is probably yes. And that's just sorta whatever, honestly. To be fair, she doesn't entirely look forward to doing this, either; and she doesn't really get why Surge hasn't just sorta said 'fuck you' yet and left. She could; she's had plenty of opportunity, and it's not like Amy could catch her even if she wanted to. No one could keep up with her, she thinks, except for the likes of Sonic and Shadow.

Huh.

She arches a brow as Surge struggles with her hair and the cloak. She knows better than to giggle or laugh, though, even if the sight is an amusing one. Amy doesn't have the same issue... mostly. The cloak is WAY too big for her; then again, it's also way too big for Surge, given how short they are compared to the idiots who had previously worn them. ]

Errr... do you need help? [ She. Is definitely gesturing to the hair. As for the knife? Surprisingly, Amy hands one over without thinking much of it. Surge doesn't act like she's going to swipe at her right now, so, it's probably safe. Hopefully. ]

I do.

[ without hesitation, without any thought on the matter, yes. she hates her, whe hates anyone in connection to that blue hedgehog because she knows what they're capable and incapable of. indirectly, every bad thing that has happened to her is thanks to those "encouraging" friends of hers. ]

But I have someone I hate more so you can live with that.

[ there's no other way to think, it's this pain inside of her that never subsides, for being a creation... maybe it's cruel that the quack left emotions, allowed her to feel pain and anger, even sadness. the tenrec holds the knife, bringing it to the bottom of the cloak so she can begin cutting excess fabric that she doesn't need off.

the piece falls to the floor and she rejects the other's need to help, what she does is bring the knife to the hood, cutting a hole so her hair can slip through with ease. ]

Fix ya clothes, we got work to do.

[ Ouch. Amy actually flinches a little when Surge just easily confirms what she already knows. ]

You still haven't told me why, though.

[ Amd she hates someone else even more? That's not reassuring at all. Amy doesn't say anything else after that because there's nothing else to say. She doesn't know anything about the other girl and she can't fix something she can't even begin to even know how to fix.

It does confirm something though-- after this, she needs to stay as far away from this girl as possible. To be fair, she gad already been trying to do that, and this is her own fault because she just had to go and get involved.

Well, not again after this. She doesn't need a knife to r i p the hem of her own cloak. She just pulls, and while it isn't even, she doesn't particularly care right now. She just wants to get this over with. ]

What's tellin' ya why gunna do for me!?

[ that's a problem, it pisses her off because amy's sin has already started, it's something that can't be corrected. she made her mistake way before she ever met surge here. amy keeps doing this thing where she acts like she doesn't know surge, that they've never met, or anything.

it's really getting under her skin. ]

When you look at me, what do you see?

[ does this help amy? probably not, but the tenrec stands there with a knife in hand and a messy cloak to hide her appearance. her eyes stare right through the other, waiting for her to respond.

Because I want to fix whatever I did wrong? How am I supposed to apologize if I don't know?

[ Amy blinks at the question. What does she see when she looks at Surge? ]

I see a really pretty, strong woman whose angry and hurt. Frustrated.

[ Her shoulders drop. She's empathetic enough to see the anger and hurt at least, and it's in Amy's nature to want to try amd help and fix these things. But knowing that she is part of the problem sort of puts a damper on that because she doesn't even know what the hell she did to earn such a reaction in the first place. ]

AHAHA!! You think an APOLOGY will fix it?

[ an apology of a life she doesn't have anymore, a past that she doesn't know, all because she was built to be a killing machine all because of someone's obsessive crush on a stupid fool!? an apology cannot fix those days of death looming over her shoulders, or under her feet if she made one improper jump. an apology cannot turn back time before to being cultured in a tube all because of a madman's design.

and that apology cannot stop surge from running right against amy, pushing the girl against the wall of the alley. that ... hypothetical apology cannot stop surge from bringing that knife to her neck and a glare that doesn't lose its edge.

her heart beats deep within her chest, hell, she doesn't know if that's real. how amy sees her only upsets her more, what right does she have to compliment then point out her pain and suffering. the girl has done this before, it's to mock her, she knows that.

she has to. ]

You're trying to get under my skin, aren't ya?

[ it feels like it. the praise then speaking of her pain, why can't she just say that surge is angry, and irritated, and frustrated, and whatever negative feeling comes with it!? ]

I've lost everything and you had a helping hand in that. I should kill you now.

No. But it would be a start.

[ She probably should have kept her mouth shut. They were getting along just fine, but... well. Amy can't help herself. She desperately wants to know how to fix whatever this even is, because it's just in her nature. She doesn't know how to do that; but she at least wants to know what the hell happened to cause this... animosity to begin with. When Surge runs up on her, she doesn't try and stop it; nor does she try to cushion herself as she's pushed up against the wall of the building. She just lets it happen.

She's not scared, when Surge presses the knife against her throat. She's just sad. ]

No. I'm trying to understand.

[ That's not a lie, either; that's the whole point of her questioning. What happened? What did she do wrong? At least, as physical as this has gotten, she's getting some answers, even if they're loose. She places a gentle hand atop Surge's, the one holding the knife, but she doesn't try and move the hand or the knife away. She just rests her own there. ]

How did I have anything to do with it? That's a genuine question, and I'm not trying to upset you further. I just want to know. [ She pauses. ] Would killing me make you feel better?

[ surge never flinches at the touch, because she knows the girl can't stop her if she moves her hand forward. still she talks like she doesn't know how or why this happening, as if nothing makes sense to her. the tenrec growls in annoyance, the hand that pushes amy against the wall now rests on the surface by her head. she's keeping her in place. ]

No, but you'd be one problem out of the way.

[ the knife comes closer, amy can feel the sharp of it against her flesh, and the girl's hand unmoving. she doesn't let up at all. ]

...You all allowed him to do whatever he wanted. None of you would stop him.

[ that's why her life, why kit's life... why they have no life, they're merely stand-ins until they can get rid of both sonic and tails. because as long as they're alive, it's with this coding, and these feelings that'll remain and tell them they're nothing but what they were built for. ]

Cowards? Supporters? I don't know what any of you are! All I know is that every day, you let him. And those days led to us.

[ Even with a knife pressed right up against her throat, Amy is unmoving. As far as she's concerned, it is what it is for right now. Is she going to die? Maybe. The one thing she does know for sure about this other girl is that she's unpredictable. And that's dangerous. ]

Him? Eggman?

[ No, that doesn't sound right. It's true, they haven't killed him because they don't really DO that. Unless, y'know, they have to? But when she says 'none of you would stop him', she doesn't understand what that means at first. They've done everything in their power to stop Eggman and foil his plans. So, she simply listens to Surge as she continues to talk.

It's really fortunate for both parties involved that, while she may be confused, Amy isn't stupid. The word 'supporters' tips her off that it is not, in fact, Eggman that Surge is talking about, and the light of realization suddenly shows in her bright green eyes. ]

...Are... are you talking about Sonic? What do you mean, we let him? What did he do?

[ surge growls at the name, not the right one, but it shows that she doesn't like him either. her hold onto the knife tightens, and it takes everything in her power not to stab the tip of the knife into her neck.

even that look in her eyes, the way she can't even believe that it has to be about sonic. how... she doesn't even understand, how she doesn't see. this is it, this is the problem, this is why surge and kitsunami even exist because of this sort of thing. she should have known that this girl wouldn't get it, that she has been praising him, encouraging sonic, never stopping him.

instead she pulls back, and roughly knees amy in her stomach, there's force behind it to make sure it hurts, because if anything she wants the girl on the ground. ]

There! IT'S THIS! Look at you! "what do you mean", "what did he do?" You can't even see it now, that's why...

[ there are the right things to say, and even the wrong ones, but that was one of the many she's unable to stand. surge looks down at her, there's a part of her that wants to scream, but all her feelings are too stuck in her chest without a proper way to release it. ]

I hate you. I HATE YOU!

[ Down she goes as soon as that knee connects with her stomach. She drops onto her own knees and doubles over, squeezing her eyes shut. Instinct has her wanting to protect; not herself, of course, but Sonic, and he's not even here right now. This isn't exactly how she wanted to get her answers, but at least she's getting them, and she'll take what she can get. Even if both the how and the answers aren't the most pleasant.

Surge continues on, and Amy listens quietly; mostly because it hurts to breathe right now, but also if the girl is willing to talk, then yeah, she's gonna let her go on.

When she looks up at Surge, she's not angry. She's just sad. ]

That's fine. Hate me all you want, then. The feeling isn't mutual.

[ It takes a lot for Amy to hate anyone. And she's pretty sure she doesn't... actually even feel hate towards anyone now? Not at home or here or anywhere. Hate is something deep seated, something that she is fortunate enough to not have or have experienced. Surge, on the other hand, has clearly been through something. Or maybe a lot of somethings. Amy doesn't know, and she doubts Surge is going to be so forthcoming about it unless pressed. But pressing for answers just gets violent, and she's not sure it's worth it. ]

[ she doesn't get it, why does this girl continue to act as though something can be done about anything. it makes the situation worse, but she hasn't used the knife, no, it's not something she really needs to use when she can use her own body and watch her crumble. ]

As long as you know.

[ whatever, she doesn't know how many feels, or what she should feel. all she knows is that her own anger won't subside, the way the other girl doesn't even know what sonic is doing.

she's going to hurt anyway, she'll always hurt. both her and kit will suffer because of their stupidity. ]

Get up.

[ that violent streak of hers seems to have moved only an inch, enough to remember what their goal is. they have... somewhere to be, through the mountains. ]

You can leave once we... finish this.

[ in her voice is almost like she's given up, as though there's no hope for anything in this girl's future. amy will allow sonic anything he wants, allow idiots to go free, to let them survive and make horrible changes to the world. she hates it. ]

[ Amy really doesn't want to go through with this little adventure with Surge now. But she's not going to just abandon the other girl, either, even if she does hate her. And as much as she wants to argue that she can leave whenever she damn well pleases, she doesn't.

She doesn't say a single word as she stands up. She does take a few moments to dust herself off, and then wordlessly, she begins to walk, pulling the hood up over her head. She's seen the map long enough to at least know the direction in which they should be headed. So, that's where she's going. Whether or not Surge decides to catch up as Amy brushes ahead of her isn't her problem right now.

If she doesn't, that's fine. Amy's brain is going a million miles a minute and she has a LOT to think about right now, anyways. ]

[ as long as amy knows that surge hates her, but her hate for amy could never amount to what she feels for sonic. can amy picture it? if this is how surge feels towards amy being an indirect cause, imagine what she will do once she's met with sonic and has these feelings. thinking about him causes surge's hands to curl into fists, she grits her teeth somewhat, and the tenrec looks down at the ground.

the knife is still within her hand, and it's with it that she throws it on the ground as she doesn't need it.

what she needs is to get rid of all those who have hurt her, have hurt them. she doesn't do this for herself, she does this for kitsunami as well. he's also been hurt, but she doesn't know that does she or maybe she can piece things together on her own if they have met.

the tenrec follows behind amy, her glare remains at the middle of the girl's back. ]

[ It's a quiet journey. For once, Amy's not asking questions or trying to chatter even a little bit. She just wants to get this over with; there's nothing she can say or so to change Surge's mind right now, and it's not her place to even try at the moment. Maybe someday. But that day is not today.

She's also glad that they have these cloaks; as they walk, they pass several other hooded figures who don't seem to notice anything wrong. They get a few funny looks for their height, but at least they keep going.

Amy stops walking as she looks down the edge of the tall cliff they find themselves on. There it is just down below, their target; the base of operations so to speak. And just like they'd anticipated, it appears to be the back. Without a word Amy suddenly jumps, unafraid of the height, and she allows herself to free fall until she gets close to the ground, where she tucks her body into a tight spin dash just before she hits the dirt, which allows her to simply roll safely right back up onto her feet.

She glances up at the top of the cliff, waiting to see what Surge will do. Will she follow, or will she find a different route of her own? Where Amy has landed is nearly pitch black; both a blessing and a curse, and she's probably lucky she didn't fall onto the jagged rocks that appear just feet away from her. ]

[ surge doesn't follow down yet, no, she's too busy standing at the edge of the cliff as she looks around to see what's going on above and around. she's kept her attention on the other cloaked figures, trying to get an idea of where they go, and why there's so many of them. if anything, she knows what she must do.

it's with ease that surge jumps, her feet sliding along the angle of the cliff with rocks flying off at the side, some sharp edges clipping into the trees to cut a few limbs here and there. once she makes it to the flat surface below, the tenrec takes a couple of steps forward and stops.

ears twitch, she looks to the side, and then jumps into a nearby tree. ]

Someone's coming.

[ there's a strong smell coming directly towards them, but from which direction makes it hard to tell within the dark. the smell isn't like the one that was on the ropes, but it has a sweeter scent to it, so because of that, surge pinches her nose in case it has anything to do with hypnosis. ]

[ Once Surge is down by her side, it doesn't last long. Amy also glances over to where she's looking, and then darts into the nearest bush. She, too, can smell that cloyingly sweet scent, and she holds her breath as they wait for the people to pass. It's a whole line of people this time, and it becomes abundantly clear what that scent is as they carry box upon box of product.

She can tell that they are wearing masks of some sort to keep themselves from getting the affects of their product as they go along, and Amy makes a mental note that they should probably try to snag a few for themselves, too.

Once the coast is clear and it's been quiet again for a few moments, Amy pops her head out of the bush and glances up at the tree she last saw Surge in. ]

Looks like those came straight from the production floor...

That means there's more people there.

[ she snickers, excited as she jumps down with a hand uncovering her nose. the idea in her head is basically causing a cave-in, but that's before they take what they have to give. ]

Haha! Let's go. They probably still have the back door open as they wait for these idiots.

[ walking forward, the girl rests her hands behind her back as she makes sure not to make too much noise. normally she does this with kitsunami, so progress would have been swifter, but she doesn't work with amy... and she doesn't know what the girl wants to do.

she'll probably get in the way when surge things of splattering all these nuisances, but... ]

Depending on how big this operation is, there might be a ton...

[ Pulling herself from the bush, she pulls some twigs and leaves that have gotten stuck in her hair. But not all of them. She can't... really see them, but that's fine. Camo or something for later, probably. She follows after Surge. ]

...then again, maybe if we can get this nipped in the bud now, it won't have a chance to get any bigger and will send a message to anyone else thinking about doing something really stupid like this.

[ Also, if there are turtles in here who are still alive, she wants to get them out. The thought makes her sick, really, but she doesn't comment on it. She's quiet as they go along, but a glance off to their side has her suddenly grabbing Surge by the hand and gently tugging her behind a tree. She gestures for the other girl to be quiet, and then nods at what she's looking at.

There's two guards stationed outside the back entrance. Her voice lowers to a very quiet whisper. ]

How do you want to deal with these guys? We don't want to cause a scene, do you think we're convincing enough to get them to just let us in?

[ caught by her own excitement, amy manages to pull surge off to the side, and the tenrec watches what's unfolding before them. two people stationed to keep anyone out, and anyone who comes out safe.

it's unfortunate that she doesn't have her powers. ]

If Drippy were here, he'd have this handled.

[ but he's not, so that makes sneaking in a little harder. what they want is a way to keep them from alerting anyone else, and she could just use her speed to zip up behind them and snap their necks.

...amy would complain if she did that though.

not that surge cares. ]

I can knock them out and you can hide the bodies.

[ The name Surge says is unfamiliar to Amy. She doesn't know who 'Drippy' is, and she blinks... before realization dawns on her. The kid. The kid with the crazy water, her friend. Kitsunami, she recalls him saying. That's a cute nickname, but she doesn't comment on it, because she doesn't want to get Surge riled up and angry at her right now. The last time she'd mentioned the kid, she'd gotten a negative reaction from the tenrec.

Best to leave that subject alone for now. ]

Sure, that sounds like a good plan.

[ She's. Honestly hoping that Surge actually knocks them out and doesn't actually kill them, but she can't. Really stop her from killing them, either. ]

[ it's with a quick dash and she's already over at the two, jumping and giving a swift kick with one guy into another making sure they knock one another out. its successful as they both fall with a grunt, and surge falls down onto her feet as she looks at her dirty work.

smacking her hands together, she kicks one as she looks to amy who has to clean this part of surge's mess. ]

You want'em alive, you gotta hide them.

[ walking over to the door, surge leans against it. ]

[ And when Surge knocks the two guys out, Amy simply claps for her -- quietly, of course. She doesn't mind hiding these guys, and so she simply steps out from where she was and begins to tug their cloaks off. She uses their cloaks to actually tie the duo up, and she pauses to rip a few pieces of fabric off to just. Tie around their mouths.

Silent men tell no tales, after all. ]

That was really impressive, Surge. You're really strong.

[ Says the small pink girl who just. Picks both grown ass human men up at the same time and tosses them into the nearest bush. ]

...

[ this is difficult, what is she supposed to say to that? surge is quiet for a moment while she thinks it over, one hand scratching at the side of hair quills before clearing her throat. ]

Well, duh! I am strong!!

[ she sounds almost awkward about it as she watches amy just toss two guys. for what reason is this girl even hanging out with sonic for, she should be doing her own thing. it's ridiculous to surge that certain people even depend on him, and that's enough to sour her mood again. ]

Just go in...
