[She gasps far louder than she means to, and she shivers far more violently than she thought she would. That jolt sends a sharp heat that ripples outward through her in a wave, invigorating and relaxing her every muscle and nerve all at the same time. And he will certainly feel it too, with how she suddenly presses up against him more firmly.]

Well, you make it really difficult when you do things like that... I'd call that cheating.

[Watching and listening to her reaction makes him want to do it again... And he wonders if he should learn to control his lightning to act similarly, but by his hands instead. What would she be like then, he wonders...]

Next question would be if you'd want to "thank me" as fish or if you'd want to return to the surface.

[Her hands shyly slide down his front, down his sides, and to where his skin meets his tail.]

What? Can't I do a little bit of both?

Think you can?

[starshower]

[Nails graze lightly over his skin and then back up his sides, and she buries her face into the crook of his neck, exhaling softly with a smile. Is it strange that she missed this in the time she was a bunny slug?]

Why not? You just have to let me.

[flamekthunder]

[His eyes close briefly before his hands slide up around her hips.]

Do we need to move somewhere else?

[starshower]

We just got here. I think we can enjoy a little time here first, don't you?

[Just subtle touches, little brushes of her lips and kisses against his neck.]

I guess we could.

[He shifts subtly to give her more access, enjoying the feel of her touch and lips against his skin. It both had been not long and too long since he last felt this from her, and now his own hands will slowly run over her skin, as if to reacquaint himself. But he keeps his touches slow, deliberate.]

[Sometimes when one is a bunny slug and refused the ability to even hold her boyfriend's hand, one becomes desperate to make up for even that little bit of lost time.

She moves in, kissing him sweetly, smiling into it before murmuring against his lips.]

Thanks for taking such good care of me.

[flamekthunder]

[He smiles against her, the heat softening to a sweeter warmth as he returns it with his own.]

Of course. You are, after all, my girlfriend.

[starshower]

... I think you should say that again.

[It makes her heart stutter and her chest warm, a heat spiking through her that surprises even her. Yet in spite of that, it also makes her heart feel full. Content. Happy...

Especially as she presses further against him, holding him tighter, drawing his lips back to hers for another kiss.]

I kinda like it when you do.

[And, funnily enough, likes when he watches over her and takes care of her. Even when she doesn't need protecting, it is nice to feel like there is someone who would.]

[He smiles against her lips as he looks at her through half-lidded eyes.]

What... Calling you my girlfriend?

[Though even as he says it, there's also something of a ticklish feeling as he says it. He's more used to it now, but... It is something he never would have found himself saying. It still invokes that warmth, that bit of joy, as well as a kind of excitement that comes with it.]

Yeah. That.

[And then she feels her cheeks flushing all the more as she presses her forehead more firmly to his, getting so close that he won't be able to see the way her expression shifts into something a little more shy, yet sure.]

Just like how you're my... boyfriend... It feels... nice.

[She shakes it off with a laugh.]

It's silly, I know.

[flamekthunder]

[There's a low hum, and even if he can't really see her he can feel some of that shyness. The hands that had been traveling over her back move so that one runs down along her arm to find her hand to take it.]

I don't know about silly... But I know what you mean. It's not something I ever really thought about...being in a relationship and having a romantic partner like this.

[He smiles a bit as his nose brushes against hers.]

I'm glad I hadn't found anyone before... Because I was able to meet you instead.

[starshower]

You always know the right things to say, don't you...?

[She leans in to do the same, closing her eyes and nuzzling against his cheek.]

I'm glad I met you, too.

[A pause, a soft touch of her lips to the corner of his.]

I mean it, though. If it weren't for you, I probably would have been carried off today or gotten lost. I might've been able to find my way, but it would have been terrifying on my own.

[flamekthunder]

[He briefly closes his eyes.]

I don't want to even think about it...

[He holds her tighter and sighs.]

But it's not just that, is it?

[starshower]

Hm?

[She moves her head just slightly so that she can look at him, a confused wrinkle between her brow.]

What do you mean?

[flamekthunder]

[There's a small, playful smile along with a playful tap and brush of his tail.]

Othet reasons why you're glad we met.

[starshower]

Oh. [A pause, and she grins.] No, just so that you could carry me around as a little sea bunny.

[But she gives him a little tap on the nose.]

Of course there are plenty of other reasons, silly. Too many to list, honestly, but if you wanna hear them...

[flamekthunder]

A few wouldn't hurt.

[Though they could be here all day if she actually tried so—]

How about top three?

[starshower]

[They really would.

But now that she's being put on the spot for real and not for play—or at least, she thinks it isn't for play, she is taking this very seriously!—she can feel her heart beating just a little quicker, and her skin buzzing with a warm nervousness.]

I can't pick just three. I like all of the reasons equally...!

[Which means that there is no such thing as a top three. Rather, the three that come to mind first.]

I'm glad we met because... no matter what we're doing, I always have a lot of fun with you, and I'm always happy to be around you. Whether it's fighting with you or doing something relaxing.

Because you not only keep me safe, but... you make me feel safe. Like I can be myself around you. That I don't have to worry so much about what you think of me.

[There are still some things that she thinks about once in a while—things that still do worry her, but that's for another day.]

And because... I could experience something special with someone that not many people can say that they have.

[His smile widens bit by little bit as she speaks. In some ways he already knew these things, especially since she's said it all in some effect in the past. But there are some parts he didn't know, such as that she felt she could feel like she could be more herself around him. It's something that makes him feel glad for, that she could feel that comfortable around. Especially given how they were in the past, consciously aware of the other and he made her before.

But her last one is a bit vague, so he cants his head in curiosity.]

Something special?

[starshower]

Mm-hm.

[She gives a nod, and her forehead rests against his, along with a subtle brush of their lips together.]

Meeting someone from a completely different world and, over the course of a year, becoming friends with them, and eventually... falling in love...

[flamekthunder]

[Ah...

His eyes shine a little at that.]

...True. Not something many can really say to that. And I'm also grateful for that as well.

[starshower]

It's been almost two years, you know.

[She leans in to kiss him softly.]

... Pretty crazy when you think about that.
